I love cooler weather. Fall is my favorite!Weather is getting cooler. Like it when it is not too hot nor cold just right. BTW summer is my least favorite season as really can't stand hot weather.
Beautiful pictures Carol! We arrived safely in Florida on Saturday. Beautiful weather and gulf, both a little cooler than I hoped.

Not a fan of pancakes or french toast. My preference is waffles and not that often. When we have pancakes at home, I usually turn them into a sandwich and put a piece of bacon or sausage inside.I am not a pancake fan either, but it has to be blueberry. And I am a toasted English muffin girl too..and if I have an Eggo, it must be blueberry!
We're hoping to go there and Gatlinburg in early June next year.Hellllooo everyone!!! I will try and play catch up later, we hit the ground running when we made it to Pigeon Forge and just taking a break now, because I am in the backseat while my son drives! LOL!!
How is everyone doing? We are doing the Smokies today with some hiking and exploring. I hope to catch up on the thread tonight when I am ready to just unwind and relax!
43/50. Some I didn't even recognize because they didn't look like what I remember them looking like.OK, I got 42/50. Fun! Thanks.
That's great!Back from my eye appointment and errands. My retinas looked good.![]()

YES! Enjoy some relaxing
(Auto-correct wrote hominem probably because I was talking about prayers earlier, idk, lol. Grits?) Those words seen to go together. N/m, DH and I just looked it up and we see it’s corn that you cook with. Good to know! I will keep my eye out for it. Any tips for using it? What do you make? Thanks. I was going to google, but you beat me to it.I found this answer to your question online. Yes, you can freeze hominy. The best way is to drain it from the can (unless you made your own) and put it in a freezer-safe container. You can safely freeze hominy for up to 4 months.
Hoping for better news for him.Just wanted to pop in and say that we still do not have a definite diagnosis on DS's condition. DS went home yesterday after receiving a 2nd unit of blood to bring his numbers up a little more. They have an appointment with the hematologist on Tuesday to discuss a game plan. DS feels like that is when he will receive the word on what type of cancer he has. The hematologist is looking at Myelodysplastic syndrome or acute myeloid leukemia. Neither of which is ideal. The hematologist used to work at MD Anderson in Houston and has been communicating with them about DS's case.

Price of everything has gone up! Record profits for corporations.Don’t mind me, but I don‘t know what hominy is!(Auto-correct wrote hominem probably because I was talking about prayers earlier, idk, lol. Grits?) Those words seen to go together. N/m, DH and I just looked it up and we see it’s corn that you cook with. Good to know! I will keep my eye out for it. Any tips for using it? What do you make?
@lynxstch Wow on the margarine at Aldi’s! I was there recently and I noticed prices were up quite a bit, too. I had maybe half a cart of things, which normally would be probably under $100, but this time it rang up for roughly $160! I said to the family, “Wow, prices have really gone up here!”I also noticed all the help was new.
Hoping for easy recovery and good news.Good morning.
Just a quick stop to ask for prayers for my husband as he has a "minor" surgical procedure today. I get nervous ever since the strokes following a surgery. Thanks. Will update later.

). I forgot to get Mexican Crema for it, so I put sour cream and cheddar cheese on the side, along with some diced radish; cilantro and corn tortillas (for me) and flour tortillas for Lance. Not super spicy, just a nice after warm, but I only used ancho chiles, guajillo chiles, and a few arbol chiles, and strained out the seeds. I have 3 quart sized bags of it in the freezer; and I did freeze the extra hominy separately; I laid it out flat with spacing, so I should be able to get out enough for just one serving at a time if we do it that way. Lance says it's a make again meal.
(That means he likes it; when he says, 'it's ok', that means don't bother doing it again.)

Ugh, I hate when that happensMonths later, here we are with 4 no-shows from the warranty repair technician.

Happy Thursday!
Gloomy day so far.
Ugh, I hate when that happens. I went round and round last year with a plumbing company, the guy wouldn't show up so I had to wait another 2 days. This went on for a week.
Fell asleep again on the couch when I got home from work. Just a short 15 minute nap but I was wide awake afterwards. Since I took my little nap, I decided to head out to Evan's soccer game (they won)
. I stopped at Kohl's on the way there and ended up buying myself a new coat and a new outfit. That's very unlike me but I told myself, "screw it", I needed the coat, the pants were on clearance and I liked the sweater to go with the pants. I asked the cashier if she had any extra coupons laying around and she gave me a $20 off coupon to use
.
Dinner was real exciting, a bowl of Count Chocula cereal! I love that cereal and it's only available during Halloween season.
Haven't watched Survivor yet, and I can't think of who you might be referring too, but there are so many I would be glad to see go home this season. As for AR--I think it's also a boring season. I am pulling for Derek and Claire. I haven't seen last night's yet, so I have no idea who left yet.I recorded Survivor but when I got home from the game I decided to watch The Amazing Race since it was just starting. It's pretty boring again this season. I liked when they had to fight for the best flight times and I think the challenges aren't very hard. I watched Survivor this morning when I got to work (thanks to CBS.com). I'm happy with who went home, her bug eyes were starting to annoy me.
I'm actually busy this morning at work. One of the researchers just returned from a conference so I have all her reimbursement receipts to organize and submit. I actually thought it would have been later that 9:30, that's a little depressing that my day is already dragging.
Working from home tomorrow so I'll get the house cleaned, I'll start the laundry tonight. I want to make sure I have time tomorrow to take the dogs for a walk since I'm working this weekend (night shift). I'll be useless Saturday during the day. I'll sleep a little bit on Sunday but Evan asked me to come down to the new house. He's finally finished and they'll start moving in little by little this weekend and during next week
.
That's all I have for now, have a great day!![]()
I haven't been inside a post office in years-literally!! I print all labels, pay for postage online, set up a pick up date, and my mail carrier takes them off the front porch. We do have a small postal sub station inside a Pharmacare, and if I need stamps I just stop in there. But I don't even use 2 full booklets of stamps in a year..lolWell, my intention for today was to get going early to run some errands. Nope, didn’t happen. I just had no motivation. I need to go to the post office to return a package and send one out to a friend in need. Idk why I hate going to the post office, it is almost as bad as the DMV
The sun is out today but it is cold, frost on the ground this morning. I am about half done with the Fall preparations. DS and Dd are coming on Saturday to help us finish up. Last weekend I planted about 4 dozen tulip, daffodil and crocus bulbs, should be pretty in the spring if the critters don’t dig them up.
I have been starting to think about Christmas this year. With DD’s wedding the week before, I need to get my preparations organized, but like most other things I am just not feeling it.
Well, enough whining. Hope you all have a very nice day!
Dazed, we also still have a
. I’m sorry you and your dog's got wet yesterday and that you also have spam calls. “Hominy” for some reason makes me smile to think of our friend
to you and right now at not even 9am here it already sure feels much later. Again a lot of that is due to poor apartment lighting. Prayers your own place at least has more natural light. Prayers you do have a good day and are feeling better, too.
. Dad would love to try your pumpkin chocolate chip cream cheese swirled muffins. Enjoy them! Continuing prayers for your son.
PollyannaMom, sounds like a nice quieter Thursday. Prayers that it will be and that your MIL’s appointment goes well. So, kind of you to take her.
and a hug as well from CA.
, dear Lynn and wow time has flown. Praise, praise God indeed always and in all ways extra for His Grace upon dear you that is for sure! I remember well when you were in the hospital. So thankful, so very grateful you are doing so well today, my friend.
