I am either to old, or too smart. I got 49 out of 50, lol

I now have many boxes of new flooring sitting on the long bench in the kitchen, waiting for installation. Dave was here to put in the peephole, put down the piece of trim under the door going over the edge of the carpet, he put caulking all around the outer edges of the door, and fixed the latch so the door closed much tighter. I could see daylight through the edge even when closed. I told him that the floor he brought to show me yesterday was still in stock at Lowes, at a really good price, and they had 206 boxes of it. He asked me if I wanted to go with him to make sure that was the one we wanted, and to get whichever one I wanted. So we did. I got 2 extra boxes, just in case, and we got the underlayment in case he thinks it needs it when he takes up the floor that's on there now. I found a floor I really, really liked,,it was eucalyptus but I couldn't justify spending $8.50 a square foot on it, lol. He has to help his son rebuild his tractor trailer engine over the next week, but said my floor is next on his list..that he should have it done well before the holidays start.

Don called Summer while I was gone. The only new thing she told him was that her Dr wants her to go aqua therapy 3x a week. Summer told her she can't go to some kind of PT every day of the week..she already goes to physical therapy 3x. Her Dr said she is going to write a letter to her insurance co and see if they will pay for an inflatable hot tub or something similar.

Sunny, 70 degrees, and so nice. I am going to sit outside. Within 5 minutes, one of the outdoor cats will be sitting in my lap purring her head off,,lol

:wave2:Good afternoon, everyone with love,

Thank you again, PollyannaMom for giving a bunch of us already some extra morning fun.

Very grateful to God, so very thankful that at long last the bigger bowl is on the way back. It did end up costing more than I had originally thought. I will be truly thankful also to get the credit card refund. I honestly at this point don't see myself ordering from this site again or any site (I will forever be extra cautious now) that does not offer free returns. I still would love to get him a special Christmas type bowl. I have a feeling that will best be done one day God willing when I am able to get out and see a bowl in person! I may look on Amazon because at least returns would be free! I do still have the small bowl though. Will decide what to do with that. All good.

Prayers all of you are enjoying the afternoon.

I took the 1970s class from the same teacher last year, and it was really good. I picked that one specifically because it was kind of a gap for me - later than we used to get to in my history classes back in high school, but too early in my life for me to really remember much! I think I'll be able to participate more in the 80s one.

I came across this yesterday, if anyone needs a fun challenge today:

I got 47 out of 50. I missed the glove one, the CED(still don't know what the heck that is) and the pager(looked alot different than the pagers we used in the 90s...lol). I got all the toy ones right...lol That was fun....lots of memories. I was 5-15 though the 80s...lol

My friend and I went to lunch and then went to a movie. Our theater has $5 movies on Tuesdays. We saw Ticket to Paradise with George Clooney and Julia Roberts...it was really cute. After we walked across the parking lot to a farmers market in the civic park next to the theater. I got some sourdough bread for patty melts for dinner tonight and thats it. They have so much good food vendors there but we were both stuffed from lunch and then, of course, popcorn during the movie. LoL

Hope you all have a great evening...I need to cook dinner for the family but still feel so full....maybe I should just picked up dinner for them at the Farmers Market with the bread. LoL

Good morning. I do not like the dark mornings. I have had to adjust my walk to after I start working. I start work early and then go out to walk around 8. My cold is slowing getting better. I usually come back from Disney with something. A cold isn't the worst thing.

Have a good day.

I'm with you on the dark mornings, Snowy!!

It's almost 7:00 here and it looks like 5:00am

The only good thing about it is the cats don't try to get me up at 4:30!
It seems like yesterday, it was light and bright at 7am. Today, so very dark still! My cats try to get me up all night; they feel they aren't fed enough....well, aren't fed enough soft food and treats enough. They always have a dry food bowl; but I have to limit the treats, because they will ignore their food and eat just the treats! Two cats prefer soft food (one will barely eat the dry food); one usually ignores it but might take a bite or two sometimes. We go through 2 cans of Friskies a day, and could probably go one more most days; but not always, and I got tired of half a can or more going to waste half the time.

DH is back to work today; we'll see if he stays there. He's doing better; stomach still twitchy. I had hot dogs, white cheddar bacon mac n cheese, and mixed veggies for dinner last night; he had chicken cup o noodles (the fancy kind you do in the microwave). I made the posole (w/o the hominy) yesterday, and cooled it overnight in the fridge. I'm going to put it into ziplocks and freeze it on a sheet tray, and we can just have it later. Does anyone know, if I open a can of hominy, can it be frozen in a ziplock and not lose it's texture? I ordered 4 small cans of hominy, and ended up with 1 huge one instead! :rotfl2: It was about the same price, and the same amount, but all at once. Tonight for dinner...I have no idea. If DH is feeling up for it, we can have some of the posole. Otherwise, it'll be..hamburgers on pretzel buns, fries and some veggies.

We used to have a dollar movie theater in Colorado, when I was a teen. The movies came at the end of their runs, but what did we care? We were broke teenagers, haha. The theater here that we like does discount movies on Tuesdays; but charge more for the XL theater or for 3D. DH and I are going to go see Black Adam next Tuesday. It's never busy at night, and reserve seating, so it's a win/win. They do flashback movies; right now is Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein!

I'm off to...idk, do a load of laundry and maybe drink more coffee. Have a good day, all!

Happy hump day. :umbrella:

Finally getting some rain around here, not much for at least it's something.🌧️

Pretty sure there is something under my deck, like a possum or rabbit. Carly would not come in this morning and just ran around my deck barking. I'm not going out to investigate.😮

Took a little nap when I got home from work yesterday, you know were I'm headed with this ... didn't fall asleep until midnight. I had to hit the snooze button this morning which I hardly ever do.😴

My sister texted us to let us know that Haley, my great niece, won her game last night so they move to the next round in the tournament ⚽. She had the only goal. Of course they play Saturday and I work all weekend. Maybe they'll play at 5:00 instead of 7:00 🤞.

That's it for me, have a great day!

I found this answer to your question online.
Yes, you can freeze hominy. The best way is to drain it from the can (unless you made your own) and put it in a freezer-safe container. You can safely freeze hominy for up to 4 months.

Good Wednesday morning! A half hour ago, the sun was out,,now it's dumping down rain. They had forecast it for all day, but now says it will stop by noon. Fine by me, the stores are less crowded when it's raining outside. And of course I already took the trash down, so the recycle cardboard will be wet, but I can't control Mother Nature.

Groceries and errands this morning. Nap this afternoon. I went to bed fairly early, but couldn't fall asleep. I tried watching tv, tried listening to music on my earbuds, nothing worked. I think the last time I saw the clock it said 2 am, and then I finally fell asleep. Woke at 6. At least it's still dark out when I open my eyes at that time now.

@Bianca and Bernard Glad your hubby is feeling better,,hope it stays that way

Have a nice morning

We still haven't left to go shopping. I just spent an hour on the phone with Breezeline, well on my cell phone anyhow. I went to use the house phone for something, and it said 'line in use'..but noone was on any of the phones. I even checked the corded one in the cellar..nothing. He had me unplug everything..try every phone into the new modem, and he couldn't see any phone lines connected. He rebooted the modem..still nothing. He had me try another phone..and we got a busy signal,,which meant the line was in use, but it wasn't. He couldn't do anything more, so I have to wait for another tech appt on Monday. He said it is either in their lines..or a bad phone thing in the modem. He's having the guy bring another new modem with him, just in case One thing after the other..what a pita. Good thing we both have cell phones in case we need one!

Happy Wednesday, friends,

It's another cooler day around here. Dad🙏 as he will soon be getting the latest Covid booster at CVS. I know this particular shot has caused some trouble including I believe some of dear you :( Dad does tend to do okay with shots other than sore arms, praying that will be true with this one. He will get a $5 off $20 purchase coupon. Wish CVS would just give a $5 store credit but grateful, of course, for any discount. We never did get our mail yesterday just an expected book package. I am keeping track of missing more important mail. Should we not receive any today, tomorrow morning we will call the post office 800#.

What a fun day with a friend, AuntieMe3! Your post brought me a big smile to read.

I am also with you Snowysmom on not caring for dark, cold mornings. Those are good days to stay cozy inside when possible!
Extra :grouphug: to you and please take care and feel better!

PollyannaMom:hug: Time sure does shift more with shorter days. It often seems to feel as though it has to be much later in the day than it is. I know a lot of that is also due to the very poor lighting in this apartment. I hope you and your kitties are having a good morning.

LOL, I want to see PollyannaMom’s :cat: chatting with Easyas’ :dogdance:. Quacker pets should meet, too! Such a fun image, Easyas, thank you. Hug and I’m sorry your dog got you up that early! Get some rest🙏.

Grateful to read your DH was up to going to work this morning, B&B, 🙏 for him. How cool you also have a discounted theater. The only cheap theaters I can remember where years ago there was one near here that showed older movies once a week. When I was in college living in a small town up North, a local theater had dollar movies. An elderly friend Ruth from church has shared that once a week a movie theater near her has very discounted movies that she and her caregiver will sometimes go see.

Please do not go searching for a critter, Footballhouse! You stay clear and safe, my friend:hug:. Yay, Haley!

:grouphug: Lynn. What a frustrating phone experience you had. 🙏that is taken care of now. Get your shopping done quickly and smoothly, come safely home for R&R!

Have a good day everyone. I will check back in later. Thinking of you, Pea! Prayers today finds you feeling even better!

Just wanted to pop in and say that we still do not have a definite diagnosis on DS's condition. DS went home yesterday after receiving a 2nd unit of blood to bring his numbers up a little more. They have an appointment with the hematologist on Tuesday to discuss a game plan. DS feels like that is when he will receive the word on what type of cancer he has. The hematologist is looking at Myelodysplastic syndrome or acute myeloid leukemia. Neither of which is ideal. The hematologist used to work at MD Anderson in Houston and has been communicating with them about DS's case.

He's thinking of the worst, which most people probably do. Fingers crossed they can figure out what's wrong and start treating it. I know it's hard to watch you child go through something like this and then everyone play the waiting game. Praying for good news.
