Good evening.,

@Pea-n-Me I Abjure thee. I loved that scene. Droughtlander has hit me so much that I started reading the books again. I have been giving my husband a break from watching the reruns and letting him watch baseball, but the Phillies had an afternoon game so maybe I'll sneak an episode in there before I go to bed.

My granddaughter got a photography award yesterday from her teacher. He only chose 3 students and said she was one of the most talented students he ever taught. I think she is pretty talented myself. She has this picture in the art show earlier this year. We had gone to Lancaster and one of the stops has cats roaming around the property. She actually laid down in the road to get the picture she wanted. Not many people think to do that.

Tomorrow is the graduations. I can't believe that 2 more of my grandkids are graduating high school. It seems like yesterday they were going off to kindergarten.

I did find a Walgreens near me to get the Covid test for the cruise so that's a weight off of my shoulders. I leave one month from today so I am starting to stress out a bit.

@footballmouse - we are going to Alaska on Princess Cruise lines. There have been some complaints about the ship but I am going to make the best of it. I'm not booking any excursions since the itinerary and times has changed quite a bit on the other cruises so far. We will see what we can and I'll be happy. I bought my husband binoculars for Christmas to take with us but with all the work on the house I don't know where they are.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.

:hug:Pea, and paws and a hug to Grady:dogdance: He will come to get in he's now in his forever home filled with loving security. I'm so glad you got to go to the concert 🎸

Praise God! I am very grateful to read your update, dear PollyannaMom. Much continued prayer 🙏 all-around, my friend and a :grouphug:

Congratulations, Grandma Taz:banana:God Bless your soon to be grandkids graduates, how exciting. Great picture and go your daughter! I do remember from years of working with a professional photographer who directed church photography camp that he always encouraged the kids to consider all possible angles for taking a picture. Sounds like your DD is a natural :)

I would appreciate my Quacker Family's opinion on two possible bowl designs for my dad. I do know, btw, that it's a kid's smaller bowl. He would use it for a small amount of granola and fruit that he has almost every morning for breakfast, so it doesn't have to be very big. I love the idea of using the Dad Toast image since that goes along with a breakfast bowl. Although, lol, don't ask me the last time dad ate toast! He does like bagels and muffins. The idea is cute and he would love it.

Do you think the image is "too much?" Second, what is your color vote for the background. I was thinking if there were a way to get the attached picture to say "Merry Christmas" on it ideally with "Merry" in red and "Christmas" in green or vice versa, doesn't matter, Should there be a way to get it to say "Merry Christmas," any way to change the blue "DAD" to green? I think this would make a super cute personalized Christmas gift that he can use for years to come. I would want the "Merry Christmas" in place of the website address.

There is also this Bowl 2. I love the toast idea if that could work. I think the design on bowl 2 is too much and busy! What do all of you dear Quackers think? Thank you, friends.

Have a good evening and sweet dreams.

We had a very nice dinner out on the deck overlooking the canal. Lovely weather.

Just watched the January 6 hearing.

Still trying to identify.
I missed this before. I use the free app Merlin.

Picking up new foster dog this evening
Yay! Good luck.

it reminded me of one of my favorite Dr. Herriot stories, “Only One Woof”
I have that book. Great story.

we are going to Alaska on Princess Cruise lines.
What ship. My friend is going on Royal Princess next week. What ports? I can make suggestion on DIY tours if interested. We only did excursions at two of our four ports in 2019.

Happy Friday morning!

Supposed to rain this afternoon so my goal is to get out and cut the front yard around 9:00. I cut the backyard last night. I'll clean the house this afternoon. My utility sink in the basement is clogged. Ds3 is coming over tomorrow while I'm at work and will try to fix it. I don't want to do any laundry until it's fixed, I don't want the water from the washer to overflow when draining.:laundy:

July must be a big month for Alaskan cruises. My sister will be on the Holland American cruise line next month.🚢

Prices at the grocery store are getting out of control, or maybe it's just prices at Meijer. I picked up my click list order from Kroger yesterday, it was $65 for 2 weeks of groceries for myself mostly. It was all food except for 2 things of body wash. I then went down to Meijer to use my coupons. I didn't get all that much, I actually debated going through the self check out lane since it wasn't that much. This was mostly hair products, cat food and litter and a few food items. It was $93 after all my coupons!!!!!:headache::eek: WTH!

I was planning on going to my great nephew's baseball game (kindergarten age) but with the rain coming later today it will be rained out again. Trying to get to at least 1 of his games. I miss my kids being that little, it was such a fun age and the baseball games were comical.⚾

Have a great day!

Good Morning. Busy day but the weather is perfect for an outdoor graduation.

@Breezy_Carol - I have never traveled Princess before and am not overly happy with them. We were on one ship and they switched to the Crown Princess. The ship has been having engine issues and having trouble with speed because of it. I was looking forward to Ketchikan but that port was canceled. Juneau was switched from all day to 2:30 PM but has had trouble making it there on time so I am hesitant to make any reservations for excursions and that stop is the day of my anniversary. I really wanted to take the Glacier excursion but may just walk around the port. Skagway is all day. We may do 2 excursions here. They added Icy Point Strait to replace Ketchikan but again it's a really short stop and late afternoon. We are scheduled to get there at 5 and leave at 8:30 PM The final port is Victoria but we get there after 7 PM and only have 5 hours in port so not much time there either. I booked this cruise for the Glacier Bay sailing and at least they are still doing that. I did get upgraded to an aft balcony and thought that was great at the time. Ony problem with that is it is over the engines that are having real vibration issues. I'm worried between that and an unexpected swell my husband will go overboard.

My only experience with cruising was a Disney cruise and that was wonderful even with missing Castaway Cay. I am hoping to make the best of it but the stress is there.

Hope you all have a great day. I'll try and get back on later.

Good morning, and it's a beautiful weather day here in Western MD also! Going to 89 today, storms tomorrow, then the heat wave starts building again. I plan on mowing before noontime, just waiting for the grass to dry out more.
@footballmouse its not just your Meijer (we don't have those here), every single store has had prices go up again this week. Some of it is just ridiculous. Who can afford to buy steak these days, and even the price of ground beef is nuts. Here is an example from this week at Aldi's. 2 weeks ago , I bought a thing of sour cream , and one of onion dip. The price on each was $.85. This week they were $1.65. That's almost 50% increase. Only eggs and milk have stayed steady for about a month, though those are still higher than they have been. I told Mr L that I am not even going to look at the prices anymore. Just get what we need, and be done with it. It just makes me sick to see the prices on everything!

@tazdev3225 --Glad you have nice weather for the graduations. Enjoy!

Have a great morning all.

That's crazy!!! I don't even buy meat anymore. I buy fish and a bag of chicken (from Sam's). The price of frozen salmon isn't too bad. I noticed a bag of hamburgers at Meijer and they were $21. That is insane. I used to buy the bag of hamburgers at Kroger and they were about $8-$9 for 10 burgers.

Same thing with chicken wings,,a bag of 3 lbs frozen was almost $25. (walmart)..they were $3.99 a lb (family pack) at Aldi's. They are my favorites, but not buying them at that price. We have a small discount grocery store just over the MD/PA line that always almost always carries Wagyu beef, you can get either patties or just the regular ground, for what used to be $3.99 , that has gone up also, but $4.59 a lb for good quality beef is almost unheard of in the grocery stores. If this keeps up, we are all going to have to diet just to save on food :(

Happy Friday :dogdance:

My grandparents one and only cruise as far as I know was back in the 80's to Hawaii on a Princess Cruise Ship. They loved it. I realize this was eons ago. Prayers for safe travels for all 🛳️✈️:car::beach:or:dumbo:this summer!

Prices really keep climbing here and inventory goes down :( Need to truly grab what is available either in store or online right when you see it! A day or two later the same item may be gone or more expensive. I was grateful that the bigger of the two post offices near us had postcard stamps yesterday. Dad stocked up on those for me. Now, I need to figure out about first class stamps. I wish the post office sold those at a discount in bulk but they don't, oh well. To me, happy mail 💌ought to be more encouraged right now. I still try to send it :)

Hug to all for a good day! Enjoy some sunshine 🌞

I ran into WalMart today, too. Needed paper towels and usually get the big package. I can’t go in there without stocking up on some other things, too, because their prices are hard to beat (with the exception of Aldi’s maybe), but I noticed prices were up on just about everything. 😟 It’s so sad. I am blessed to be able to afford it without too much pain, but I know there are a lot of families who aren’t as fortunate. I also don’t know how they’ll keep jobs they commute to paying $8/gallon for gas in some places (like CA last week). Has anyone made any changes to their retirement accounts?

Hey, y'all. Hotter than heck here; almost 1:30pm, and it's 89, real feel 94. 🥵 I had to go into the garage for about 10 minutes to move a couple boxes, and came out drenched in sweat. :crazy2: Good news is I unpacked 5 more boxes; packed a box to take to Goodwill; and have a big box full of broken down shipping/moving boxes to put out on Monday.

I made griddled cheese w/couscous, tomatoes and zucchini for lunch; and I'm making mushroom and sweet potato bowls for DH for dinner; I'm having salad.

@flyingdumbo127 You can order stamps online from USPS, and the post office delivers them to your address; their shipping boxes too! You just have to make an account if you don't have one.

I'm going grocery shopping on Sunday, and I'm not looking forward to it. Prices are just rising and rising. I've been doing Hello Fresh, but I think we'll end up cancelling it, now that I am out of freebies/discounts. I'll still use the recipes, but I'll go buy the stuff at the store myself. Maybe do it once in awhile as a treat for me.

@tazdev3225 If you aren't happy with the cruise changes, can you change to a different cruise? It sounds like they are taking away everything you booked for. And I love that kitty photo!

I'm going to go nap, I think. Have a good night.

Going to dinner soon so better get ready. (Schaffer's @easyas123
Oh I haven't been there in forever! We used to go there as kids w/ my folks & or grandparents- dang I guess that is going on 35-40 years now. Have you guys ever gone to the Bayard House? It's real good, too.
here was a lot I wanted to respond to but now I can’t recall any of i
That's my problem, too!

Maybe this will help with your stress!!!!

And I just had a hummingbird at the feeder:
I saw one this morning. Didn't get a photo though...I have only seen them once or twice so far this year so I was happy to see the one I did. I really enjoy watching them.

Well good afternoon everyone. Dog pick up went well - lets just say he is in way worse condition than we were prepared for. I took him to the vet today and we spent a LOT of time there, and have a short term & long term gameplan. In the short term will be to get a handle on his thyroid issues and clear up his horrible skin, ear & eye infections. Once we get him straight there we will get him moving again and then address some liver tests and cherry eye surgery he needs. One step at a time. He's kinda checked out of things mentally, he just sits there like a lump. Of course it hurts him to much to move between the infections and his feet which are in horrible condition and must be very uncomfortable. But there is a personality under there, it will come out once he starts to feel better. And once he feels a bit better he will start to move. And we will go from there -

Well I have to go finish yelling at a idiot at work who did something very dumb and jeopardized a working relationship with another entity because he wanted to passive-aggressively call someone out for a minor infraction via email to that persons bosses. And worry about the 1 of 2 people not vaccinated in the office who has had an exposure and her kid has it now...geez, you'd think after being so sick with it in Dec. that you were out of work for 4 weeks and your husband being hospitalized for 10 days and then home on oxygen would have spurned some folks on to getting the vaccine. I guess not :scared: People are piss**g me off today with their dumbness from every direction!!!

I need a cocktail.

One good thing - the weather is GORGEOUS here. about 80ish and breezy, not humid. I think that some rain is coming this weekend though.

Well, today is 56 years since Tom and I met on the Boardwalk at Seaside Heights, NJ. That’s the resort where Sandy blew the roller coaster into the Atlantic, many folks remember that picture.

We celebrated on Wednesday in Seaside Heights rather than travel in weekend traffic at the shore. Today we celebrated at Congress Hall here in Cape May. I wanted the lobster roll, and didn’t ask what “market price “ was. I loved it because it tasted like lobster and not just whatever was in the recipe! Turned out to be $32 with the salad, and both were excellent!

Tom had a wedge blue cheese salad which he compared favorably to the Cobb salad at the Brown Derby in DHS.

We’re heading to our swim club pool where we have a weekday membership.

I hope everyone has a good day.

@flyingdumbo127 I’m glad you like to and do send “Happy Mail!”

@easyas123 God bless you for giving the pup a chance for a real life.
Thanks! He is by far one of the more neglected pups we've gotten. We are going to take the same few photos weekly, as well as measurements and a short diary to record how he changes physically and gets better, and also how his personality changes. I feel strongly that there is a bubbly boy in there somewhere. There's a spark in there somewhere.

Good afternoon :)

I just finished ordering dad some extra Father's Day surprises. Weather here is just lovely, so blessed and grateful.

I'm glad you got to Walmart, Pea and hope you found some good things :) Gas is over $6 by me. Very grateful the full tank dad just got yesterday should last a couple weeks or so with the limited driving he does. So expensive for us. Ralph's and Pavilion's prices keep going up around here, too. We are so beyond blessed to be able to get what we need zero complaints! Higher prices just make our budgeting tighter and planning ahead (which we try to do anyway) more important. Like I said this morning, always get what you are able to get when you first see it! Something on Amazon that a few days ago cost $5 now cost $7. Or even stickers that normally cost $2 cost over $6. crazy!

Please keep cool, B&B and get some good rest! Concerned about you 🌸 We do have a USPS.com account, thank you. I have indeed ordered stamps that way, mostly postcard stamps which are often harder to find at the post office than first class stamps. It would just be so nice if USPS gave a discount on the more stamps at one time, you bought.

:grouphug:Easyas and I'm sorry you had to deal with that employee. God Bless you for caring for this dog. He is so blessed to have you!

Aw, congratulations, Bobbiwoz to you and your DH. God Bless you both on 56 years. It truly touches my heart to learn of happily married couples for that many years. Here's to many more healthy and happy years together. Thank you, for your kind words. Sending out happy mail, I pray, is a tiny way for me to spread some extra faith, cheer, and love. Doing so brings me such joy.
