Taking time out of reading WDW restaurant menus to post here. DD is proposing a plan.

The real estate listing on her house went live today. The pictures came out nicely and her house has never been this clean since before the two kids. Open house this weekend.

I've heard a few people mention the Temple and touring it recently - did it just undergo a refurb? One of these days I'll have to get over there.
It was just renovated. It is to be dedicated this Saturday and then closed to non-Mormons. I think you missed it.

We're having a week,
You certainly are. I hope the next week is better.

While looking at menus, DD discovered Gideon's Bake House. Did someone here mention them recently? I read about it somewhere.

Better head to bed. Good night.

Hello all - happy Tuesday! I went into work yesterday and today - it was so nice to see people in person again (we still have to wear masks in the building, but it's starting to feel a bit more "normal").

My 60 day window for ADRs is coming on Saturday - we're trying to figure out the new world order in WDW and how committed we want to be re: time, given that Fastpass is a thing of the past. Starting to get excited for a vacation! My aunt is 80, and one of her friends recommended that she look into an ECV (scooter) - she's very mobile but it can get tiring... any words of wisdom or pros and cons out there?

Well, today was an awful day all around. my son gets to have n expander put in tomorrow. He has a very small mouth and will prob have braces and mouth “hardware” for the next 3-4 years. He is not looking forward to any of it.
I'm just a few years ahead of you on the end of the marriage, AND the braces for DS. My heart breaks for you - while he may have "moved on" in the marriage, his disregard for your feelings and his disrespect to you - the mother of his children - is cruel. You are the better person and the view is always more beautiful from the high road. And sometimes blocking the ugliness is the best way to keep the view clear (it's about setting boundaries - make it your superpower) ❤️. My son had the "twin block" retainer for the year before the pandemic, which slowly shifts the bottom jaw forward a bit, and has had two years of the braces - it shouldn't be too much longer. I asked him if a lot of kids have braces, but he said he didn't know - he hasn't seen anyone's mouths for two years! So - hearts mend and teeth straighten - although with both, there were some tears (many, many tears, actually - all mine!)
Seriously. It was a rough week for me and the grandkids.
Wow. That's a whole lot of ER visits! I hope all heal up quickly. Sometimes it's harder on the parents/GPs than the kids...

Have a great week all - we're in for MORE RAIN (what they used to call the Pineapple Express is now referred to as an "Atmospheric River"). Gah - where is summer?!?!

Good evening to all. It has been another busy and emotional day. @lynxstch I really could have used you and your super cleaning powers. I'm still amazed at all the crap that I've hauled to the dumpster and/burn barrel and still have so much to move. Then the cleaning of the house, oh my word. I am NOT a super cleaning lady that is for sure. Thankfully my wonderful family and a friend of my sisters have been her pretty much the last two days helping haul stuff out and clean. Our carpet is almost 18 years old doesn't really wear well and shows everything. Let just say it was pretty bad with having 4 kids and pets on it 24/7. So we have been cleaning it like crazy and got it about half done last night. My husband came in and told me it was a crappy job and it was still wet and he'd prob have to pull it up because of mold...I really need an eye roll emoji here. Anyway, he was just doing it to be mean. It looks so good overall and we have all worked our reary dears off to get this place in descent shape before I leave. I am at the house alone tonight as my kids are having a sleep over with my older sister at my parents house. I have to be at mediation fairly early so I didn't want to have to worry about getting them up and around. Plus, I really needed to be here alone tonight to process all my feelings about this possibly being the last time I will sleep here. I have never liked this house for many reasons, but I am still so sad. Just because it's where I started my married life and my family. It's the only home my kids have known. And, just the realization that this is really happening and that my life is forever changed and no matter how much I want it, my marriage is over and the dreams I had for my family are now shattered. My sister and sister-on-law are coming over in the AM after I leave to do last minute things for me...vacuum one more time and mop the kitchen floor and take the vacuum with them along with the mop. My oldest is also coming with them to pick up a few more things she wants to take to the other house.
I am so tired, yet sleep does not come. I'm hoping after tomorrow it will be a bit better. Just knowing where he stands on stuff and hopefully knowing what will happen with the kids, good or bad, will at least relieve some of the stress from just plain not knowing. He wants the kids 50/50 and there is no way I can let that happen. He has NO idea what it takes to get them to all their functions and appointments. And, two of them really are hoping they don't have to be here that much. Unfortunately they are not old enough to really get an opinion at this point. The oldest is almost there, but not quite. I just gotta pray it will work out. I mean I know God has a plan, but I'm having a hard time right now not knowing what that plan is. I really need to hit the shower tonight as I'm feeling pretty gross from all the cleaning and the garage was super dusty.

@Bianca and Bernard here is to having way less "excitement" in the coming days.

@Snowysmom I think you made a wise choice in waiting until after Father's Day to make the move. Excellent choice on taking care of yourself and realizing you need to make that change.

@flyingdumbo127 I love how you were so close to your grandparents. I still "talk" to mine all the time.

@easyas123 yes, hurry up and wait is so very stressful and annoying. And, it alway seems once the wait is over the floodgates are opened and I can't keep up. I'd just like a nice steady pace of things instead of all or nothing.

@Breezy_Carol sounds like your plans are coming along nicely. Hope your daughter has good luck with getting her house sold ASAP.

@Canadisney Fly thank you for the kind words. My son didn't end up getting his expander today. I have no idea why I thought it was going on before the braces (That's what happened with my daughter so I prob just assumed it would be the same) but he did get X-rays today. The high road is a tough road to be on at the moment, but I do try to stay on it as much as I can.

have a good night everyone.

Good Wednesday morning! :flower:

Supposed to rain again today, what's new.☔ I guess I should glad it's been raining while I'm at work.

Ds1 stopped over last night after they looked at a house 🏚️. The house is really cute, hopefully they decide to put a bid in on it. I'm sure it will go for way over the listing price which will knock them out of the running. Anyway, he had his truck broken in to last week and had his soccer bag (his Army bag) stolen. What the hell?🤷‍♀️ He said they left the $1000 golf clubs but took the Army bag which had his cleats and ball. People are such a$$hole$ anymore. I think he was more upset that the bag itself was taken.

Watched the Reds game last night ⚾. They were winning 9-0 in the 5th inning so I switched over to FBI: Most Wanted. Little did I know that it was a carryover to FBI: International so I tried to stay up to watch that but I knew it wasn't going to happen so I recorded that show. As usual, I fell asleep so I'll watch the rest of it today.

I really need to get back to cooking dinner and prepping my lunches. I've been eating out way too much this past 2 weeks.

I have a co-worker who is getting married next month and then another one who is due in August with her first baby. We're having a combined shower today at lunch. I gave money for a group gift for the baby present but I went on my own for the wedding present and got her a big wooden salad bowl and another wooden serving bowl. Can't beat going to Home Goods for stuff like that.

That's about all that's happening with me. Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning.

I went to yoga last night and left my mats there so have to go back to get them. Going to try to bike ride to test out my new seat.

My 60 day window for ADRs is coming on Saturday -
Mine is coming June 20, hence the looking at menus.

My husband came in and told me it was a crappy job
I am confused. Why are you doing all of the cleaning and moving? Are you selling the house? And why can't he help? I am sorry for all you are going through.

Good morning all--
@frog3101 --sent you a pm,,but I had exactly the same thought as Carol did about your 'soon to be' ex. And I just love what @Canadisney Fly said. Its hard to take the high road, and I didn't always do that in my situation, but what she said has a lot of merit. Sending you all the best..be strong, we all know you can be!

Rained hard overnite, supposed to be sunny and mid 80's today. Off to the grocery stores shortly

Have a great morning everyone.

for non-hockey fans, my Colorado Avalanche are heading for the finals

We're having a week

The real estate listing on her house went live today.
Good luck to them!
I think you missed it.
Oh, dang. Well at least some folks got to enjoy it.
My aunt is 80, and one of her friends recommended that she look into an ECV (scooter) - she's very mobile but it can get tiring... any words of wisdom or pros and cons out there?
My grandmother was younger than 80, however she used a ECV to get around EPCOT when we went with her once for F & W. She managed quite well and it was a good choice for her at that period, she had no problem getting around to go here or there, but there was no way she could have gotten around Epcot. I have a photo of her on the scooter, drinking champagne and smoking the Eve 120 super long cigarettes she smoked in France. This was about 30 years ago mind you, but it's fun to look back on that photo.
My husband came in and told me it was a crappy job and it was still wet and he'd prob have to pull it up because of mold...I
Fine, let him pull it up. Don't do all that cleaning for HIS benefit, only do things for the benefit of YOU & the KIDS.
Can't beat going to Home Goods for stuff like that.
I love me some Home goods...

I had a few folks ask how it was flying post-masks...it was fine. We were in a big airport, BWI (between Baltimore & DC) and I'd say maybe 10% of the folks we saw wore masks. We flew into a smaller airport, RSW (Ft. Myers) and I'd say it was about 5% wearing masks in the airport. Our flight going down only had 47 passengers, this was on a Saturday morning. Coming home, Tuesday morning, our flight was about 85% full. Getting our rental car in RSW only took about 10 minutes, including waiting in line. Was unable to use our preferred company, Enterprise. Used Budget instead. Didn't notice how good/bad baggage claim was since we only did carry on. No long waits for security in either airport - mind you our boarding times were at 4:45 AM for one flight, and 5:40 AM for the other flight so we were there quite early and avoided the majority of the daily crowds.

Good morning all! I'm a little slow these days and just muddling along.

Hoping to relax this weekend.

Shower was held at her mom's house for my daughter in law and upcoming baby end of August. It was a beautiful presentation. Her sister, Mom and Dad managed all the details. She got lovely gifts. The day was gorgeous and some ez-ups were erected over their deck with small tables and chairs, complete with white table cloths and pink runners. Lunch was packaged in decorated and ribbon tied boxes. Drinks were set in ice filled tubs, and nice music was playing softly. A couple of games were played and I won the first one, Target gift card which I gave to my DIL for baby stuff. Some people were in attendance via zoom. At the end we all had cupcakes and then received a small box of candy mirroring the lunch box theme. Very very girly! Everything was perfection.

Hope all here are keeping well.

:grouphug:❤️Frog, I'm Pm-ing you also. Extra hug on your grandparents. They hear you, my friend. 🌸

Congratulations to your DIL, Judique, Much prayer for a healthy and safe delivery in August. Summer baby :)

Hug, Footballmouse, I'm sorry about the house. In God's time and way, another choice will come up. I hope the Reds ended up winning. The Dodgers lost again here.

So glad you have a fun WDW trip to plan, Carol! I've, of course, never been there, so am no help with planning. I sure look forward to hearing all about your fun adventure ::MickeyMo Prayers your DD's house sells quickly and easily.

:hug:Canadisney Fly, so glad you joined our Quacker family. Thank you for your kind words to Frog. I am so sorry you endured a similar experience :( You are a lovely lady.

Love your picture of the day's saying, dear Lynn. I still sometimes feel it's a different day than it is or that it just has to be later in the day than it is. Covid time still is here that's for sure. Prayers your shopping went safely and quickly, my friend and that you're home now and can relax for a change!

Easyas, glad to hear your flights went smoothly! I truly hope you had some fun on your travels :)

Dad is heading off to a Skecher's Outlet to look for new shoes 👟 Before Covid, we used to go to these outlets because at all locations of then, shoes are buy one get one 50% off. The Citadel Outlet location (not sure whether this might be true of other outlet malls) also (before the pandemic anyway) used to offer an additional $10 when you first got from the Outlet's customer service desk a coupon book by being a Triple A Member.

To anyone, thinking of you AuntieMe3 and possibly Kirby as well, who have Pavilion's supermarkets (Von's, Safeway, Randall's in some locations) there's a new summer game going on. Dad already won an instant reward last night (free product). Check it out :)

Midweek hug to all! I'll check in later.

Sad afternoon post instead of my usual morning kitty report here. - DH tested positive for covid, so our weekend trip to upstate NY is canceled. 🙁

He has been staying away from DS and I (even though hoping it was allergies) so hopefully we haven't caught it. We both did a home test this morning, and were both negative so far.

DH feels super cruddy, but not dangerously ill (at least for now). If you're the praying kind, please send some up that he recovers well and nobody else gets it.

@PollyannaMom Sending :grouphug: 's to you and your DH. Hope he feels better soon.

So far the Covid numbers here aren't rising, thankfully!

Been home from shopping for almost 2 hours. There was literally noone in Aldi's,,,as in me and one other person..at 9:30 on Wednesday (first sale day). It was just plain weird. Walmart was busy, but no more than usual. Only empty shelves I saw was peanut butter. Literally there were 5 big jars of Peter Pan Honey Roasted, and 5 small jars of Peter Pan Chunky. Not one other jar of any other brand (including the organic, and $$$ ones). Very very weird. Isn't JIF the only one recalled?

I finally got myself some bluetooth earbuds last week..love them! I put them in while I was shopping, and I listened to the local country station and could still hear if someone talked to me,,lol. Mr L isn't thrilled. He doesn't listen to music very often,,and now I have it on all the time,,lol

Stepdaughter is still on her bad luck streak. She got stung by a bee on Sunday. Sent me a pic of her right hand (same arm that she had the shoulder surgery on), and it was so swollen it didn't look like a hand. She couldn't even bend her fingers. She went to Urgent Care. Dr says she got an infection in it? I have never heard of getting any kind of infection from a bee sting. They gave her some antibiotics and prescribed an epi pen which she had to get today, as her pharmacy was out of them.

Scanned and put stuff away. Put in a load of laundry. Calling for storms after 5,,right now it's sunny and 81.

Have a nice afternoon

Your poor, poor stepdaughter, Lynn. I feel so badly for her :(

Extra hug and prayer, PollyannaMom!

Dad got shoes, hooray. He desperately needed a new pair. Skecher's has raised their prices big-time he said. Another positive about Skecher's is that for every dollar spent, you earn a point. $100 points=a $10 Reward. It's just a blessing dad doesn't do much driving right now because gas has soared to $6.05 I think he said it was yesterday, yikes!

Wishing all of you a good afternoon.

I have been AWOL again. Just been super busy and then super tired.

Went down the Jersey shore Saturday with all my kids and grandkids AND LJ. My one grandson wanted the trip instead of a graduation party. I almost didn't go. I had vertigo on Friday, I think it was exhaustion and dehydration. I also had a bit of a disagreement with my youngest. Every now and then she accuses me of favoritism, saying her sister and her kids are my favorites and I ignore her kids. It is NOT true, but it hurts that she acts like that. My husband did have a talk with her while I was at church. I did go and we had a ball. I even managed to get a nice picture of all the grandkids, so that will be going on my wall. LJ had so much fun in the ocean so I am glad I did make it down.

Sunday we had the church picnic so another busy day. This week was a doctors appointment and my husband can finally wear shoes again. He is very happy. Awards Ceremony for Crystal today. Tomorrow I need to get Jim fitted for new shoes. Friday my grandson graduates at 10 AM and Crystal graduates at 5 PM, of course I need to attend both. Saturday my aunt is finally marrying her longtime partner. They asked me to be the photographer so I am worried I will not do a good job. After the wedding I need to stop by my son's house since he turns 40 that say. I am NOT old enough to have a 40 year old child. Next Wednesday is Anthony's graduation and then I am isolating.

We leave on the cruise in one month and I am trying to limit my exposure to people as much as possible. I am worrying about needing to take a covid test 3 days before we leave. I don't know where to get it since websites aren't co-operating. The flights were all changed on me so that was a headache. Going to Seattle now has a layover in Chicago. Coming home is nonstop but I have 12 hours to kill at the airport. Instead of an early afternoon flight it is now a redeye. I was not happy about that at all.

My husband has been insisting I book a trip to Disney - solo for the fall. I have been looking but can't quite decide to do it.

I will go back at some point and catch up when I get a chance. Maybe while I am in isolation.

Hope you all have a nice evening.

Can you use the home -proctored test? The cruise line we use accepts them. While we don't seem to have any trouble getting a appt. at our local Walgreens for a Antigen or PCR test, I'm thinking of doing it at home just to see how it works out.
That stinks that you can't seem to find an appt....can your Dr. make a recommendation as to where you might get one? Walmart or Target pharmacies maybe?

I can but I have issues staying connected to Zoom meetings. I can't get voice to work on the computer and the I-Pad gets really touchy. I don't have a doctor right now since our PCP died last year. Working on it but have not been successful. I have several Walgreens, CVS and Targets around me so I may just stop in and ask about the protocol. Thankfully I do have a couple weeks yet. I had the same issues trying to get vaccinated against Covid. We are sailing on Princess for the first time so I am a little nervous about that anyway. I tend to overthink things and then I drive myself crazy.
