Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

One of my rose bushes (that DH planted for me last year along the fence) came to life yesterday. One bush is living but not blooming yet. He says it will be ok. There are several others and they have a few roses bloomed. I love them!

Grady :lovestruc So much better than the scared boy who came with ears pinned back.

:grouphug:Frog, you are so courageous. Intentionally hurting anyone, let alone a spouse, is never okay. Ever. I am a very quiet, calm lady who does not easily get rattled. One thing that has me up in arms always is when a child (of any age) is being intentionally hurt in any way. Beyond wrong, extra by a father! How beyond blessed your precious kiddos are to have YOU as their mom! Please take care of yourself!

I love the pictures, dear Taz, thank you so much for sharing with us!

Thank you all, always, for trusting in us with your daily shares. Knowing each of you are here and okay is so important to me because each of you are special to me :)

Our Quacker family truly means so very much to me. What a blessing that God has banded us altogether and kept us a family. May we always be of faithful, loving and kind support to one another. I do still pray that if it is His Will, we absolutely get to have our Quacker meet :) Love to all of you and Happy Saturday, too.

Good morning.

Now that life is somewhat back to semi-normal, I find myself not posting as much. Know that I still care and would miss you all if I dropped out completely. But, I may forget to mention someone or their circumstance but it is not intentional.

Yesterday DH and I did some shopping. Started at Kohls where he wanted some PJ pants. I ended up with a summer print swing dress and a pair of shorts too. Then we went to the mall area. He got a shirt and two swim suits at Lands End. He wasn't planning on the swimsuits but they were only $10.50 each. Then Target, Bath and Body Works, and Aveda.

We went to Tessa's preschool graduation, which was cute. They gave everyone a superlative. Hers was "most likely to be a movie star." We think that translates to drama queen. It was at 6:30 and a 45 minute drive from home so we didn't get dinner until after and ended up at Cracker Barrel at 8:30.

Today is a lazy, dreary day. Just catching up here and on chores. Have altar guild but have to wait until after a celebration of life service that is going on now. (I am listening on the computer.)

And I just had a hummingbird at the feeder:
We have the same feeder.
Juneau was switched from all day to 2:30 PM but has had trouble making it there on time so I am hesitant to make any reservations for excursions and that stop is the day of my anniversary. I really wanted to take the Glacier excursion but may just walk around the port. Skagway is all day. We may do 2 excursions here. They added Icy Point Strait to replace Ketchikan but again it's a really short stop and late afternoon. We are scheduled to get there at 5 and leave at 8:30 PM The final port is Victoria
I recommend going to Mendenhall Glacier, even if you take a taxi or shuttle. Juneau is walkable. In Icy Strait, we walked the 1+ miles to Hoonah and had lunch there. Saw the artisans and totem makers. In Skagway we took the White Pass Railroad, then walked the town, saw the National Park, and walked to Reid Falls.
Has anyone made any changes to their retirement accounts?
We are at the age we are taking out. Luckily, our financial guy is good and we haven't gone down as much at the Dow.
Have you guys ever gone to the Bayard House?
I have, maybe 30 years ago. But have been to the Chesapeake Inn more recently. DD nd DS like it.
But there is a personality under there, it will come out once he starts to feel better.
God bless you for taking care of one of his creatures. What a hard but worthwhile job.
People are piss**g me off today with their dumbness from every direction!!!
:rolleyes1:sad2: :rotfl2:
Then we went to DGS, 5, preschool graduation.
Us too.
I saw a beautiful cross necklace that looks like the star of Bethlehem with a small sapphire and 4 small diamonds on each part of the cross. I was just drawn to it.
I am sure you will get years of joy from this gift to yourself.
I am super old-fashioned and feel that one situation should be settled before bringing in someone new.
Not old fashioned, but ethical and moral. I agree.
I pop on to read updates and then get sidetracked before I reply
Ditto.
Belmont Stakes is today,
I never know when that is. I know the first two but forget about it.
Just know that some of us on this thread have probably been there, done that, in some way.
I have not but have seen it in friends.
We are here to be happy with happy threads, and we are here to commiserate with the sad ones.
Exactly. You know I you remember that I have gained two grandsons over the time of this thread.
Day 1 of my busy week is in the books.
You have been busy. And thanks for letting us see you. Good luck with photographing today.

This is the dress I got.

Going to maybe add some grad pictures from my phone in another post.

Lovely and summery dress, Carol. Congratulations to Tessa! :hug:Sometimes there isn't much to say. What matters is you know all of us care and that knowing you are okay matters so much.

I meant to ask earlier whether any of you have grandkids who like to draw? I need a kid-drawn picture of either a big stuffed animal (just not a cat or anything creepy crawly). Thinking a dog, teddy bear, lamb, rabbit, etc. animals I really had as a young child) or even family dog if need be. Could be a real dog if it had to be. I would need the child to name the stuffed animal and/or to know the dog's name. PM me please if you think you have a young artist in mind. Thank you! :)

Behind again, but enjoying grandkids, surf, sand food and jets.

Sunrise this morning:

Grady looks so happy and loved. What a nice picture of him.

I love all the graduations going on.

I got to hold little Sam today. He is so chill. He only fussed a couple of times in my arms while he was trying to settle himself. Then he feel asleep. DGD loved her birthday. She was sad a couple of times as she sat next to me. I am sure she was thinking of Grandpa. They were best buddies. But, she got up and played with everyone and opened her gifts. She got alot of crafty items that will keep her busy all summer. She is a voracious reader and just finished her last book she had last night. Thankfully I got her 2 more books for her birthday. She will also go to the library next week to pick up another stack of books.

Have a nice evening.

Good morning all. One channel says we will get storms today, the other says sunny, who do we believe? lol!

@Snowysmom Thanks for sharing the picture,,it is a beautiful necklace!

I didn't sleep well last nite. Went to bed with what felt like 1/2 a migraine. Finally fell asleep around midnite,,only to have firetrucks and ambulances come down the road with sirens blasting. Stopped at a house on the next street over, an elderly man lives there and they are always having to go there for something. Then I fell asleep again,,and some idiot came roaring down the road in his car (loud muffler), and stopped almost in front of our house and gunned the engine. Geez. Finally fell sound asleep around 3, and of course woke up before 6 to hungry cats sitting on the bed staring me down.

Nothing planned for chores today. Going to do a bbq brisket for dinner..whether it goes on the grill or in the slow cooker depends on what the weather does. Will decide by noon. Just checked the garden and a lot of the tomato plants have flowers on them. Squash, cuke, zucchini, are all growing better than usual. Maybe it's because I switched around the planting rows this year

Have a lovely Sunday all

Boma breakfast anyone? 😍

Enjoying all of DD’s pictures but making me wish I was there!
Wouldn’t have wanted to deal with all the packing, though. Too beat.

Love the necklace, Snowysmom. And loved seeing all the graduates!

DH and I are off to do some fun things today, not even sure what yet, but we’ll figure it out as we go. Took me a couple of days to catch up on rest and sleep after my shifts this week. Feel better today, yesterday was super tired.

Last night DH made shrimp scampi for dinner, it was good. We actually had gotten the shrimp scampi at Aldi’s, it just had the cooked shrimp, and he added pasta. It was delish, as is almost everything we get at Aldi’s. You never know what they’re going to have, either, so we get to try different things.

I hope everyone has a good day! 🐥

Beautiful necklace, Snowymsom  God Bless all your precious grandkids.

I sure hope you're feeling better, dear Lynn!

Yay, that you and your DH are planning fun today, Pea! Enjoy!

Expecting an Amazon package with some Father's Day surprises inside today. I'm, of course, looking forward to watching worship.

Happy Sunday, friends:grouphug:

Morning all!
Love the necklace, @Snowysmom! Hope it brings you joy and peace.
Love all the photos of the 'graduating' kiddos!
@tazdev3225 Hope your pictures came out great; congrats to the happy couple!
@Pea-n-Me Grady looks so much happier and healthier!

Last night, I just did some frozen PF Chang's meals for dinner, along with some frozen dumplings; I cooked those in the countertop oven under air fryer, then did a quick sear in a hot pan to get some good color on them. Today, for lunch, I'm making pasta and meatballs for me, and a meatball sub for DH + salad; tonight is just leftovers to clean out the fridge, and salad. I'm making a three bean salad for DH for lunch the next couple of days.
Ordered some tiki glasses, drink umbrellas/picks/straws, hurricane glasses, and coupe glasses off Amazon; just waiting for them to show up.

We ordered some stuff from Total Wine for delivery on Friday. The cost of the delivery covered what it would cost in gas to head there and back, so I am ok with that, lol. Did a decent tip, because they had to come across the Buckman bridge during rush hour. So, we have a lot of different rums and some more Aviation gin. Going to make tiki drinks later, lol.

No Hello Fresh for the next few months; it just gets too hot, and I don't want to risk getting bad meat or dairy. So, I ran to Target and Publix this am for food. Spent over $200 at Publix (only 5 meals of meat) and almost the same at Target (8 meals of meat; but that includes the romper for DD below). I didn't even get coffee because no one had the kinds we like, and no peanut butter, because no one had any no sugar kind.

Picked up DD#2's bday gifts.
Got her these handtowels from Belk last week:
20220612_105504.jpg

Picked up this romper at Target (looks much cuter in person; love the oranges!)
And two things from SB:
20220612_105542.jpg20220612_105613.jpg20220612_105634.jpg

Just have to wrap them up and ship them off next weekend.

Only other thing I have to do today is put up clothes from yesterday, clean the kitchen after cooking, and put out trash. Hoping it stays dry (drier) for the next couple days, so I can mow the front and back yards.

Have a good Sunday y'all!

Happy Sunday all! :flower1:

Calling for storms later this afternoon. Decided to park in the garage this morning when I got to work. I usually park in the parking lot but didn't want to get caught in the rain when I left and I didn't want my car to get hit with hail.⛈️

Didn't do anything after work last night. Started watching Aladin (the live version) but fell asleep. I recorded it so I'll watch it sooner or later.

This morning there was a code blue called out for the ED parking lot. Found out later from a security guard that a 78 year old man drove himself to the hospital, called to say he was in the parking lot and after the ED doctors got out to him, he ended up dying in his car. That was just so sad.

Caved in and ordered Olive Garden for lunch with everyone today🥗. I brought salmon and vegies for lunch but I'll just eat it for dinner when I get home.

Snowysmom - the necklace is very pretty.

Have a great day! :wave2:
