Aldi's was a zoo this morning. And unusual for them, there was an awful lot of empty spaces on shelves. Walmart was busy but not packed. Really didn't see anything out of stock there, at least not what I needed. Stopped at CVS and picked up one script for Mr L, and went to Harbor Freight and got another 4 foot LED work light. The one in the laundry room had 4 foot bulbs in it,,and it was cheaper to buy a whole new light than 2 bulbs. It's 58 and sunny out, I have the window open in here and it feels so nice. Have a nice rest of the day everyone; Good luck tomorrow Mona (@flyingdumbo127 ).

Mona, I ended up getting my nephew Worlds of Trivia and ordered it through Amazon to be delivered on Saturday. I appreciate all of the suggestions I received. I've written them down and actually plan on giving them to other nieces/nephews in the future. I also so a card game on Amazon called Karma that looked like fun to play.

DH has had a topsy turvy day so far. A teenage boy pulled out in front of DD on her way to work and she hit him. She and Lil Joe are okay but DH had to hook up the car trailer and go pick up her car, then drive her and Lil Joe to school. I woke up not feeling well, thought I might have the virus that's been going around so DH had to take Lou Lou to preschool. I'm better, looks like just a bad bout of GERD which I don't understand because I had salmon for dinner last night with rice and a salad. Anyway, he did get a little work done before he picked Lou Lou up. He's taking a nap now before he goes to pick up DD and Lil Joe. My stomach is achy and I have a scratchy throat from acid reflux. My yearly consult with my internist ( I guess that's what you call him) is coming up soon and we might need to change my meds.

I hope your dentist goes well tomorrow!@flyingdumbo127

I had my second treatment today, and I learned that the ultrasound afterwards is to check for damage to the surrounding tissue. Apparently the cancer is microscopic, and so, it not what’s being looked for.

Good news, my pond fish are getting better. They are exhibiting normal behavior. When I go past the pond, I find them expecting to be fed! So very happy. I have about 600 gallons of water in the pond, and I have used 6 pounds of kosher salt. I believe I can use up to 6 pounds, but I am unsure that I will put in any more, although I do see one or two fish with a bit of skin abnormalities. When pond people cleaned the pond in March, they counted 31 fish, I see 15-20 now.

has anyone been to Prague, Budapest or Nuremburg?
Nope.

I ended up getting my nephew Worlds of Trivia
That looks great!!

Yeah! :fish:

I notice when others type @flyingdumbo127 it shows up blue. Mine above is black. What’s the difference? Now this is black. What’s going on?? Does anyone know?
It might have to do with whether you just type it, or click on it in the auto-fill list that comes up.

In the first one, there was no space between it and the previous word, so it didn’t recognize it. Second time it was by itself.

Said prayers for Mona!

Glad you picked a nice game, Kirby!

Glad you‘re enjoying the weather, Lynn! We got to sit out a bit today, too. A little chilly but the sun was nice.

Had a virtual home visit today with rescue. Went fine. Dog is meeting with another family before us.

ETA Sorry, I have never been to any of those places, easyas!

Good evening everyone. Once again time has gotten away from me.

@Kirby glad you found a game you like for your nephew.

@flyingdumbo127 - hope your dentist appointment goes well

@bobbiwoz - glad tour treatments are going well.

Have any of you heard about a lawsuit filed against the City of Philadelphia? My daughter is one of the plaintiffs. Anthony's basketball coach instigated it and she said she would help out, next thing she knew she was a plaintiff in the suit. I get her reasoning and I sort of agree with her. Of course it caused some lovely Easter disagreements because my family ONLY listens to my brother. I try and stay out of it.

Easter was nice. LJ got a haircut for it and did really well. The Easter Egg Hunt after was a fiasco again. We had 3 separate areas and of course the "guests", parishioners that show up once a year, had their kids heading to the areas they weren't assigned to. I don't have a problem at the end of it all but when one area was designated babies only, let the babies have a go at it.

We went to my mom's for the afternoon and it was actually pleasant. My dad, husband and brother all fell asleep in the living room. We had more than enough food and I got to spend some time with my cousin. I have only seen her once in the last 20 years. There were some bad feelings and words exchanged when our grandmother passed away and she wanted nothing to do with us. She was angry at my dad for having to put his mother in a nursing home. My Gram had a massive stroke and was completely paralyzed so there really was no choice, but my cousin felt she should have had some say in the matter. My dad was the oldest child and he consulted with his one sister, not my cousin's mom. My cousin is trying to adopt her niece and nephew and they were also baptized. I do give her a lot of credit for taking them on. The one is severely autistic and the other one has some emotional issues from her birth parents. They are both drug addicts so neglected the kids. It's a lot to take on in your last 40's when you never had any children of your own, so little experience with kids. She has had the 2 children since they were about 5 and 7 and has done a wonderful job with them.

My week has been tied up with dr.'s appointments for my husband. I thought we were finally ready to get his shoes. My life should be that easy. I wanted to wait til he saw the cardiologist because he had some fluid retention issues. Thankfully resolved and we stay on his meds and I need to get compression socks for him. We are compromising and I'll let him go every other day with them for now but on the trip he must wear them every day. He was happy with that. Then we had to see the foot doctor. I notices something a little suspicious yesterday and he finally admitted he hurt his foot. Off to the foot doctor who was very happy I brought him in immediately. He ripped his toe open and it has been oozing since yesterday. Antibiotics on board but NO new shoes. This has to heal before he will ok him getting fitted. He will not have the shoes for the cruise so I have to hope we can figure something out. I personally think he just likes the foot doctor and missed him. Seriously, the foot doctor is great and on top of things. Unfortunately with the diabetes my husband is very slow to heal.

So with my up and down week I leave you with a couple of pictures from the weekend .

Love the haircut! Hope your DH’s foot heals soon!

Auto fill list? I typed in both of those. What is auto fill list?
I actually agree with the other explanation now that I've seen it, but the thing I was talking about is that since the latest upgrade (and before the previous one), if you start typing the @ symbol and someone name, and kind of pause for a sec, suggestions will come up of user names that start with those letters (with their avatars next to them, which I find really helpful!) and you can just click on one.

Yes, sort of like it does with private messages.

Thank you, Snowysmom!

I'm sorry to hear shelves are bare out there, Lynn. Im glad to hear you got a few needed items on your trip and thank you so much for your wishes for tomorrow.

:grouphug:Kirby and simply praise God your DD and Lil Joe are okay! That's of course, what matters. I am so sorry, my friend, for yet more trouble for all of you. PLEASE do take care of yourself! Did you ever try the hot chocolate, btw? That might help your throat or at least taste good :D Thanks for sharing your game choice with us. I do hope you'll get to play it sometime with your nephew.
You are a wonderful aunt :)

Much continued prayer to you as well, dear Bobbiwoz and thank you, too!

ITA with you, PollyannaMom that Worlds of Trivia looks interesting and a great choice to also encourage a teenager in school and exploring/researching new places as well.

Thank you both Judique and Pea.

God Bless, LJ, Taz! He is so cute! :)

Thank you all for the dentist prayers and good wishes. I will update after I get home tomorrow morning.

Much love to all!

tazdev, what a cutie!

Mona, I did try the chocolate. I enjoyed it, have more in my pantry.

Dinner tonight was roast, mac & cheese and salad. Easy clean up, I'm feeling better but it was nice to not have to spend a long time in the kitchen. I hardly ate anything all day so it felt good to have a meal. Hopefully I won't wake up in the morning with the same issues I had this morning.

DD's back is hurting this evening but Lil Joe shows no side effects. Her new beau made the mac & cheese last weekend and sent some home for us. I had forgotten it was in the fridge and was thankful that it was there to be a part of dinner.

I have kind of a odd question for you all - has anyone been to Prague, Budapest or Nuremburg? We've got the possible opportunity to stop off for 2 nights at one of those cities during a trip later this year. We've researched them - we've not yet been to any of them - and we'd love to go to all three, but only have the time & budget for 1. We will be in Budapest for a day & a half as part of our already planned out trip, and my Mother has been going on about how she could have spent another 2 weeks there after visiting for 4 days a few years ago. I've also always wanted to go to Nuremburg & Prague. Well, honestly I want to go everywhere, but these are my opportunities now. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else had been to any of these cities before and had any opinions on them. I think I'll also ask on the main community boards, but thought I'd ask you guys first.

Hi there, I've been to Nuremberg twice, Prague twice and Budapest once. It's a shame you don't have more time because it's easy via train to go to all 3 in one vacation, but there is so much to do in each location. I was born in Nuremberg, and is full of history. It's a fun place to explore. Prague is one of my favorite cities. It's so beautiful. Again so much to see there. Budapest is stunning set on both sides of the Danube River. You can't go wrong with all 3! Feel free to ask me questions to help you narrow it down. And I can give you some must see things in each location!

Good morning all. Weather Channel says its sunny out, but its gray and cloudy. They say rain at 8:30, then clearing. Thankfully the colder nights have slowed down the grass growing, so it can wait another couple of days. They say by Sunday it will be 86--yikes!

I have dishes done, laundry in, watered all the tomato plants (which I repotted all 50 of them the other day). Not putting in that many, but give some away and have some for spares in case I lose some. No other plans for the day yet..

Have a great day everyone!

Happy Thursday to everyone! :flower1:

Rainy here today but it is much warmer, only needed a sweater this morning when I left for work. I also remembered to put my petunias outside since I'll be gone all day :flower2:. The rain will do them some good and hopefully the sun will come out later today.

Got my haircut yesterday after work and stopped at Meijer to grab some cat food :cat:. I noticed a couple of the cats have been having some issues with coughing (hairball problem) so I'm switching back to the indoor food that help with hairball control. I have a full 16 lb. bag of another brand of food that I was using still in the Amazon box in my garage. Guess I'll be dropping that off for a shelter. A groomer in my area accepts pet supplies and then donates everything to area shelters. I took the 50 lb. bag of dog food there a couple of months ago since I had to switch my dogs to salmon flavored food and the lady was very appreciative.

Good news, my pond fish are getting better. They are exhibiting normal behavior. When I go past the pond, I find them expecting to be fed! So very happy. I have about 600 gallons of water in the pond, and I have used 6 pounds of kosher salt.
Why do you put salt in the water? I have a small Koi pond in my backyard, just wondering if that's something that I'm supposed to be doing for my fish.

Mine also comes up black. I can't figure out how to link it so it turns blue, it would be much easier. I've tried pausing after the @ sign, but it didn't help.

I've never been to any of these places but I would probably want to visit Prague for some reason, maybe it just sounds interesting. Nuremburg would also be a contender, like someone mentioned, for the history.

Not much else going on today besides working. I think I'll start my laundry when I get home today instead of leaving it for tomorrow :laundy:. I'm making spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread for dinner tonight. This way I'll have leftovers to take to work this weekend for dinner, saves me from ordering out.

Have a great day! :smickey:
