My emotions are just so raw now that I will get cranky and sad about just about anything. Plus I didn't like the stager's attitude when I met her so I am biased against her.
Then crank away! :listen: to anyone who will listen (us included). You are walking a rough, rough path that most here can't fathom so you need to find solace in that which provides it.
And maybe that woman is just a witch and your witchtuition picked up on it :thumbsup2

Thanks, Easyas. When it gets a little warmer, going for a drive with dad would be a good idea. Maybe we could even attempt a neighborhood walk, if even a block or two, depending on the quietness of the street.

Snowysmom, I can't imagine how hard must be to see your house not being your house. :grouphug: To me, that would make my impending move, feel all the more real. Be good to yourself! Remember, you will find a new home and a new location does NOT mean loss of memories or presence of those we have loved being within us still. I pray once you do find a new place and for sure have moved in and are even a little settled, you will find all the more peace of place and come to better know no matter what Chris is with you and so is God! From all over, as I often, say all along the way, my friend, so are all of us!

It is gorgeous outside..66 degrees and nothing but sun, I'll take it. I went out and swept out the woodshed, threw out a few things. Cut back the old stems on our Autumn Joy Sedums. All of the trees have buds on them, and new sedum seedlings are coming up already. Maybe my daffodils and tulips were be poking their heads out soon.
@Snowysmom--I have a question. Are you paying the real estate company extra for the staging? If so, don't you have a say in what they bring in and set up. The 'tent in the room' thing sounds really odd! I hope it sells so you can begin the next new stage of your life- somewhere that you can make your new home feel like YOUR home!

I expect the stagers have a warehouse of currently popular stuff and use whatever's not being used in another house right now, so you probably don't get much of a say. (But they're also experts on the current trends and what buyers are looking for.)

The tent made me think they were staging the family room as a playroom. My "niece & nephew" had a little pop-up one that they loved to play in!

@Snowysmom, I bet it's really hard to see it looking different than it's always been  but try to remember that you're not selling your style for each room, you're selling the space of each room, and the stager's job is to maximize the potential of that space when showing it to a bunch of people with all different styles - not just from you, but from each other. It's got to be a tough balancing act.

But I hope that once you find your new place, and start to imaging decorating that, it will get easier to see the old one.

Hi everyone...super lazy weekend, I didn't even want to get online. LOL It's looking like DHs job may be getting extended again. UGH....I'm ready to go home. Actually I feel like I need to go home, I never got my extra BP meds approved from last weeks request, still waiting to hear and took my last dose Friday. Called again today and hoping to hear something by the end of the day but its not looking good. Also, DD is running out of dog food for Buddy. I get it from Costco and she isnt on our Costco card. I could instacart it for her but I just really want to go home so those are my excuses... I'll just take the rental DH has, drive home and turn it in back home, then he can just rent another up here. We'll see....DH really wants me to stay with him.

I've been walking every day for a week now. The first day I did 2.5 miles, processing up to 4 miles on Friday and Saturday. Sunday I didn't walk at all, I was super lazy and binge watched the new Tyler Henry show on Netflix. If you've never heard of him, he's a medium who used to have a show with celebrities on E network. If you believe in that type of thing, he's really good. This new show was a mix of meeting with regular people from his wait list and a back story of his family. Super emotional... loved it. Anyway, back to walking...I don't know what I'm going to do when I get home, there really isn't any place to walk around at home. We have no sidewalks, people drive like idiots and it's very hilly around my house. I'll have to find some place I could drive to, to keep up with what I've done around here.

@footballmouse @easyas123 Schitts Creek is soo good. I tried to watch when it first came out on TV, whatever channel it was and couldn't get into it. Then early Covid days, I started it on Netflix and was hooked. Sometimes a little silly, funny but I loved it and was sad when it ended.

I hope you are having a wonderful visit with your son, PollyannaMom! A pop-up tent sounds like great kid fun. I never had a tent but remember draping blankets around my lower bunkbed to pretend I was in one as a kid :)

Very glad to hear you aren't having to pay the stager any extra money, Snowysmom!

:wave:AuntieMe3, II hope you are able to return home soon. Good for you on all the walking, that's wonderful!

I am extra grateful this Monday for some kind PM's and snail mail, too, a good book, and that we're getting closer to Spring 🌸

Have a warm good night friends.

Good Tuesday morning :daisy:

It is so nice the week, I'm sure flowers will start to pop up soon. I bough some wave petunias from a local nursery last week. I pick them up next week. Every spring they do a $1 sale for 3" pots of those flowers so that's a good deal. I'm also going to try some sun impatients this year. My sister has been buying them for a couple of years and said they are so easy to take care of, that's what I need.

Not much going on today, working from home again. I'll definitely get out for a walk again later today.

Have a great day!

Good morning all. Going to be another lovely pre spring day. Temps will be in mid to upper 60's. Have laundry almost done , all trash gathered, cats fed, and am about to change out the litter boxes. Mr L had an upset stomach last nite, but is better this morning. I think he's been eating way too many onions lately, and sometimes they bother him like that. Either that or he had a stomach bug.

@footballmouse--I would kill to get wave petunia's for $1. A container of 4 last year was over $8 at Lowes and we have no local nursery's around here. I expect the prices to be even higher this year :(

Off to get going on my cleaning

Have a great day everyone

My sister and I always jump on this sale. Luckily we both have our yard treated by this nursery so we get an email letting us know ahead of time when the sale is. I ordered an 18-count flat of mixed colors and my total was $18+tax. They look great in my flower box in the front of the house.

Good morning.

On my third load of laundry. And have straightened some rooms. Shift at church this afternoon and yoga this evening. I have soup and bread defrosted for dinner.

My small garden has kind of been a mess the past two years. I really only want 2 tomato plants and a few zinnias. And I have three pots that I plant flowers in. I am thinking of getting some half barrels to plant in. Have to price them and dirt.

Planning to get chores and stuff done today so we can take our bikes to Rehoboth tomorrow. Thursday is supposed to rain so will do mall shopping and Target returns then.

Good Morning friends,

Quiet thread so far this Tuesday.

Footballmouse and Lynn, impatiens are so pretty. We planted a bunch years ago in the spot where Champ was laid to rest. Petunias are nice as are Spring daffodils, too. Flowers and Trees beginning to bloom with new life are such a beautiful part of God's season of Spring indeed.

Carol, pre pandemic, barrels of planted flowers I've seen at places like Walmart and Lowes always looked so very pretty. Should dad and I ever get to move and have some outdoor space, perhaps a small barrel would be a way for us (depending on the room of course) to have a small flower garden.

:grouphug:🌸 to all!

Finally somewhat recovered from three long shifts this past weekend. Had some nice patients. Also had one on our unit not so nice to me when trying to help. 😠 Helps me more appreciate the nice ones, for sure. Commute was very cold! And the unit was cold, too, we had to bang on the pipes to get them to turn up the heat a bit, lol. Hands were like ice and I had to wear my jacket. DD showed me a funny ticktok nurse video that I could totally relate to and made me laugh thinking of it. (It was of a nurse at home trying to sleep after a shift with eye cover on and still hearing all the beeps and alarms and call lights and pumps - it really happens, they get in your head! Which is probably sort of satisfying for patients to know since they keep them awake in hospital too!)

Yesterday I was exhausted but forced myself to get some things done around the house - straightened up (boys were home alone over weekend, did mostly ok but, you know!), vacuumed, cleaned two of three bathrooms, sorted and started laundry, grocery shopped, put groceries away, helped with dinner (marinated London broil with oven baked potatoes and asparagus with Irish bread) and later dozed off as I was sorting through some mail and bills (had them next to me on sofa while watching news). :faint:

Oh no! Is it possible to get your doctor’s office to send the prescription to a national pharmacy like CVS? Or could you visit the ER to have a BP check and get a new script from them? A pain, I know. I hope you can find a solution!

I will try to watch this, for sure! :goodvibes Thanks for the head’s up!

I wish I did, but I don’t have much of a green thumb. Grew up in the city and didn’t really do much planting or things like that. DH is more the gardener. But I do get hanging New Guinea impatiens every year that are mine, and that I take care of. They are amazing. If they stay in direct heat, by the end of the day they droop pretty significantly, but move them to shade and water them and they come right back! (Better to keep them in indirect light but that’s not possible for me.) We also do impatiens in our window boxes and yard. They like a little water every day (but not too much or they get “woody”). I love geraniums, too, and do two big planters for front and back. Never had great luck with petunias.

We are aiming to do some yard work this year along with some other projects like building a new pool deck and painting the house. Probably lofty goals, but we’re talking about it anyway. Our deck got messed up in a storm and it needs to be replaced this year (we lived with it last year). I’m happy it’s almost time for flowers again! We do have a big garden, it’s DD’s and DH’s they do it together, but I am allowed to make suggestions, lol. I also want to remember to hang a wall planter I picked up two years ago to put herbs in, we forgot it last year. I found it somewhere (probably a thrift shop or yard sale, I forget) and spray painted it and it’s adorable. I did order that little set I think I mentioned here before for my screen porch and it arrived, so I’m anxious to get that set up, too. Lots to do!

Have some errands to run when DH gets home so better get moving. Have a good evening, everyone! 🐥

I put this on my Ukraine thread, but thought I would add it here, too.

From Pea-n-Me:
I just wanted to touch on this. I know that “thoughts and prayers” don’t always seem like much. But I happen to believe pretty strongly that they do mean something. I’ve read a lot of stories (and talked to people with firsthand experiences) about people who’ve clinically died and come back to tell about it. Some have described seeing thousands and thousands of ’beams of light’ (and similar descriptions) and asked what they were. They were told, “Those are prayers”. Perhaps they can influence something, somehow. That is my hope and belief, anyway.

That said, I thought I would put this here in case anyone wanted to use it. I am going to say it daily, if not more, and offer other prayers that I say regularly, as well.

A prayer for Ukraine
Loving God,
We pray for the people of Ukraine,
for all those suffering or afraid,
that you will be close to them and protect them.
We pray for world leaders,
for compassion, strength and wisdom to guide their choices.
We pray for the world
that in this moment of crisis,
we may reach out in solidarity
to our brothers and sisters in need.
May we walk in your ways
so that peace and justice
become a reality for the people of Ukraine
and for all the world.
Amen.

:grouphug:What a beautiful prayer, dear Pea, thank you for sharing with us! Thank you also always for all the tremendous loving care you give to so very many. PLEASE do take care of YOU!

It's a lovely warmer afternoon here. Waiting for a Walmart package to come and working on some mail. Enjoying a good book, too.

Extra Tuesday gratitude: Looking back, 2 years ago today, was my last in-person worship service. After church, I enjoyed a leisurely lunch with my friend Sara. To think of how far we've come since then and personally how much healthier and at peace I am now is a miracle from the Good Lord indeed.

Saw this little Quacker tonight and couldn’t resist taking him home with me. 🐥 And didn’t want to leave the little bunny behind him behind, so took him home, too! 🐰 Will find a nice place for them with my seasonal things. (BTW I think the duckie was the last one left because it can’t stand up straight by itself, kept falling over, so has to lean! We’ll figure something out for him!)
