Good morning all. Another 70 degree day coming up..so nice to know that Spring is really on it's way!
Those cupcakes look delicious and the duck and bunny are adorable. Thanks for giving them both a new home, @Pea-n-Me

Trash is out,,waiting to see if the moronic new paper carrier manages to drive into them and knock them into the storm drain again. I have had to call and complain 3x this week about him driving up onto the bank, as he's too lazy to get out of his car to put the paper in the box. I even put a heavy wooden box where I didn't want him driving..that said KEEP OFF, and he hit the box and broke it, and bent the paper box pole halfway over trying to get close enough. District manager told me he was going to move the box so he could get to it. I said you can't move it any closer to the road, or to our driveway, and if he moves it,,he might drive into the storm drain (at this point I wish he would). Manager says 'he can't be that stupid', I said apparently he can since he's knocked my trash into it, and broke a box that I had right next to it..lol!

Anyone see Bachelor finale last night? What a trainwreck this season was..even Mr L wanted to watch it last night to see Clayton say 'I am sorry' another thousand times.

Grocery day, so off to the market soon.

Have a great day

Good morning! :flower3:

Wow lynxstch, it sounds like the paper guy is drunk when he delivers the papers!

Went with Ds3 and his puppy to the vet yesterday. It was her first check-up and she had to get some shots. She is a typical puppy, very playful and curious. She wanted to play with all the dogs in the waiting room, she wasn't afraid of any of them. :dog:

I'm meeting a friend (and co-worker) for lunch today at Outback. We haven't worked together in a while so we need to catch up.

Tonight is Survivor night!!!! I'm excited .

That's it for me today, I hope everyone has a great day and enjoy the great weather! :woohoo:

Just finished up watching Zelenskyy address Congress. Amazing speech, he has really just cemented his place in the annals of history throughout this war.

Time for coffee
I'm a 1 cup a day gal but I'm starting to feel like I might need a second now & again!
I would kill to get wave petunia's for $1
Really! Wave petunias are some of my go-tos for my porch baskets & planters, I'd also love to find them for a buck!
take our bikes to Rehoboth tomorrow.
Gonna be a nice day - enjoy!
I know that “thoughts and prayers” don’t always seem like much. But I happen to believe pretty strongly that they do mean something.
Nice sentiment, that prayer.
DD made her St Patrick’s Day cupcakes tonight
Those look good....I could go for a spot of sugar today!
Manager says 'he can't be that stupid', I said apparently he can
I'm amazed at the level of stupid I see sometimes. Like - how can folks manage thru life being so clueless?????????????

Ever really stick your foot in your mouth, make yourself look stupid and have no one but yourself to blame for it? Yeah, that was me the other day. I'm still cringing .... talk about stupid! I suppose a humbling moment in time every once in a good while is good for us all.

Not sure what is for supper tonight, possibly make your own pizza. Youngest & husband are going bow fishing tonight, which evidently is done in the dark. It promises to be a very pleasant evening temperature wise, so the dogs & I will probably enjoy being outside and going for a long wander thru the fields and woods. Probably finish off the evening outside with a glass of wine on the porch. I think eldest might be over Sunday for veal parm - waiting to hear for sure for him if they will be around.

Considering doing a major closet clear out this weekend. I'm talking emptying the entire closet out, forcing myself to liquidate that stuff I've been pushing aside and not wearing and putting things back to rights. I'm sure once I have all my crap spread across the bed and the room and in need of going thru and putting back I will REALLY regret it :rotfl2: but it will look good once done. Or at least be more functional. I plan on doing some shopping for some new warmer weather clothes and I don't want to bring in anything until I thin thru what I have.

So the talk about the Wave Petunias has me thinking ahead to my flower baskets on the porch and various planters I put on the porch....

QOTD : Do you decorate your porch areas/patio areas/front door areas of your home with potted plants in the warmer weather season?

I have 4 wrought iron baskets on my porch that I plant wave petunias/ivy or potato vines in yearly and several planters I put out on the porch and patio areas. I enjoy seeing them all out there, and putting them together. Sometimes I buy the already put together pots of flowers and sometimes I buy individual flowers and put something together. I usually do my big flower purchases for these baskets & planters on Mothers Day weekend - this came from when we used to go to the nursery every year for Mother's Day. Now I still go, on my own that Saturday and take my time picking thru everything at a couple of different stores/nurseries and whatnot. It's a enjoyable day for me.

It's a paperwork kinda day, I'd best at least get started on it -
Have a good morning everyone.

QOTD - yes, I have a flower box under a window and then I place nice pots in my landscaping in the front yard. I don't like to actually plant the flowers so the pots look nice. I also have a couple of hanging baskets for my porch. In the backyard, I place pots on my deck and in the small areas of landscaping. I also add a hanging basket from my only tree in the back. Definitely use impatients there since it's in the shade.

Oh! I forgot about hanging baskets. I usually get a few of those a year as well.

Welp, about 1/2 of my paperwork is done. So that is good. And I ordered the off road diesel tank filled at our farm, so that painful chore is over. OUCH. I wish I had been smart and called a week or two ago.

Aw, the duck and bunny are so cute, Pea! I also thank you for giving them a home. How fun (and tasty) the cupcakes will be. Love that you and other Quackers do make seasonal treats.

:hug:Snowysmom and I'm glad you get off of work early today. I truly hope all goes well at the house and that you get some offers this week, too.

Yikes, Lynn, that doesn't sound good or too professional a way to deliver service either by the carrier! The hearts in your cute Mickey picture look like bubbles. Good memories of how much kiddos love blowing them. May your shopping go quickly and smoothly, my friend.

The puppy:dogdance: sounds adorable, Footballmouse. What's it's name again and do we get to see a picture? :) Enjoy your lunch with your friend.

Easyas, going through a ton of stuff isn't always much fun and neither is redecorating a space. But as you said, it's a good feeling in the end. Also, should you be able to donate un needed stuff on that's a positive, of course, too. Make your own pizzas sounds like a fun Wednesday night dinner. 🍕 Thanks for asking a QOTD, too.

QOTD : Do you decorate your porch areas/patio areas/front door areas of your home with potted plants in the warmer weather season? We don't have either a porch or patio, wish we did! Pre Covid we definitely did get seasonal welcome mats which was fun. Right now we're trying to find a cute "Happy or Welcome" Spring image to have made into a picture for our kitchen. It seems like Dollar Tree and the 99 Cent Only stores stock of seasonal cheer has gone down :( As always, I would appreciate any Quacker suggestions.

You could always get small potted flowers, PollyannaMom to put on your porch like Carol shared yesterday about the barrels.

I do look forward to seeing once again pictures of Spring come to all of your yards 🌺

Dad prayers please as he has headed off to the appointment rescheduled from last week. Thank you, dear friends.

Happy Wednesday to all with love.

QOTD--Yes I do. I put baskets of hanging flowers on the front porch, I have 'over the railing' pots that I fill and hang on the railing that goes across the front porch. I make pots of assorted flowers and put them on the table on the back deck, 2 more on each side of my peony bushes where one of the bird feeders is. Will attach a pic of what it looked like in 2020. It didn't do so well last year, with all the rain we got, and then all the heat :( Hopefully this will be a better year for everything I grow!petunias 7-16-20.jpg

It is so beautiful outside..I was going to wash the car after we got home, but it's supposed to rain tomorrow, so I'll wait for Friday. We got a late start,,Aldi's wasn't busy, Walmart was. No cat food, the glass case by the deli where they always have the rotisserie chicken , potatoes, tenders etc..was totally empty. Lots of empty spots on the deli case shelves. The lady said they keep ordering, but they don't send it. They don't even have any chickens to cook for the rotisserie chicken. There were plenty of whole chickens in the meat dept so I don't know what the issue is.

One of my lights over the workbench died the other day. So I put the remaining one over my potting table. So that meant I needed new ones. Noone carries the old fashioned fluorescent ones that you have to put bulbs in anymore (well Ace Hardware did, they had 2, but I wasn't paying $60 each and then have to buy new bulbs too. Mr L.. remembered that he saw those shop lights at Harbor Freight when he was looking online for something else. We stopped there on the way to Walmart, just to see if they were lower priced than Lowes. ..I got them for $19.99 instead of $24.99 at lowes. I put them both up, super easy, and a blind man could see, those things are bright! I

I called the newspaper left a message that said "have Karen the district manager call me..I am just about fed up with this'..she called me back 30 min later. Asked what the issue was. I said there was nothing in front of that box..I even put my trash up behind it until after the paper came. Yet the paper was thrown into the middle of the driveway. Nowhere near the box. She said I will tell Mr R--- to make sure it goes in the box. He's new. I said he's been our carrier for a week, he knows there's a box there,,it says TIMES NEWS on it..he's put it in there every other day, including the 2 days he drove onto the bank,,the first time knocking all my trash into the storm drain, the second when he drove into the box that said KEEP OFF. I said if he can't understand or read English, then you need to find another carrier. I am not going to keep putting up with this stuff.

If it happens again tomorrow,,I will be cancelling the paper, after having been a customer for almost 30 years. Mr L had it long before we met and I moved here.

Dinner is going to be chicken thighs with Chic A Filet Polynesian Sauce, leftover mac and cheese, and steamed broccoli

Have a nice nite everyone

Gorgeous plant, Lynn! I hope you have good luck this year! 🍀

Pretty flowers. I wish I had a green thumb and could have decorative plants but it usually does not end well for the plants. Maybe in my future new home I can try again.

I am going to see a detached condo tomorrow 2 towns over from my house. It is a condo community of detached condos. My agent says it will go in a bidding war but I may as well see if I want to make an offer. The condo is located right near where Chris used to work plus it is off the road he traveled whenever he went into work. I am not sure if this upsets me or calms me. I could go either way so I will see how I feel tomorrow when I am there. My friend is coming along as well as DDIL may come along. I like having all the input. There is a condo in the next town, near the border of my town, that is one floor. It is at the top of my budget and has a high condo fee. I go back and forth about whether to look at it or not. It is a bit bigger than I have been looking at but not by much. DS says to look at it and I say I think I still want a place where I can feed the birds and a little outdoor space. The main thing it has is that I could easily and quickly get back to my town for everything I would normally do there like shopping and takeout. But, I can do that from most any town I am looking at. My attitude is that if I am not sure, then it is a no. One condo came up at a place I would love to live at in my town but it is 2600 sq ft and $120K over my highest budgeted amount. I do not want to take care of that much space and can't pay that much. There are 4 showings of my house today. My agent says there is alot of interest. I hope more condos come on the market, mainly town houses. The market is going to go south a bit over the next several months so I want to find something nice now.

Have a nice evening.

Snowysmom, I hope the interest in your home turns into a sale, soon! Are detached condos individual buildings?

Prayers for your dad, Mona.

I bring out some houseplants to our porch and side yard, and usually have a pansy hanging basket. All of our amaryllises go out to build strength for next years flowers. Not all bloom every year, I don’t really know why. We had at least 12 trumpets blooming this year. They are Apple Blossom types

My shoulder injury is more than originally thought, and I am waiting for an MRI appointment. Some sort of operation will be needed. PT and exercises are not enough. What I had done is slammed my cane down behind me so I wouldn’t fall on a rain soaked small incline. I was going down. I didn’t fall, but something was hurt.

I will be enjoying some Gal’s time at our HH DVC NEXT WEEK. 6 Gals, ages 68- 82. First time to HHI for most, and first time for this particular group of friends. Friends coming from Ohio, OK, NJ and PA.

Beautiful flowers, Lynn! Good for you for calling the newspaper. I hope your next delivery will be professionally done!

Prayers Snowysmom that you do feel a sense of home at the condo tomorrow. I am very grateful that a friend will be accompanying you.

Dad got a good doctor report, thank God. Please keep some upcoming appointments in prayer for him. Thank you with all my heart, my fellow Quacker family for doing so and for me and each other always.

Grateful to feel warmer right now because dad was cooking part of his dinner early in the oven so it would be easy to reheat later. It is sunnier than this morning but as I've shared this apartment can simply be cold plus, of course, it's me. I definitely prefer sunshine. Mail just came so I should go grab a package from Target that came today through the mail.

I just saw your post, Bobbiwoz that must have went through just ahead of my own. Much prayer my friend. I am sorry you are in any discomfort, of course, but still. Please take care and be careful. What beautiful flowers! I love the little bit of pink. Makes me think of the peace of Easter early morning in pre pandemic years past at church when the morning light began to come on the horizon.

I will check back later. Wishing all of you a good rest of Wednesday.

TIMES NEWS
My husband reads the obituary page online from that paper!
Will attach a pic of what it looked like in 2020.
That’s gorgeous- love the juxtaposition of the purple and deep green-
There are 4 showings of my house today.
Awesome! That’s great, fingers crossed for you everything lines up and one of the condos or townhouses strikes you as interesting.

Now that sounds like a good time!
Sorry about your busted shoulder, hope they get you set to rights soon.

Boys have headed out for their evening of fishing. I’m outside now- I’m looking at a rainy day and another long day of OSHA classes I’ve got to head tomorrow so I’m soaking up the Vitamin D & fresh air for a few moments.

trying to think of something for dinner tomorrow evening- something I already have in pantry/fridge or freezer.

Enjoy the sun, Easyas. Prayers tomorrow's meeting goes quicker than expected and smoothly, of course, my friend, too.

I am also grateful today for a very nice surprise. Terri unexpectedly called to let me know she was just a few minutes away from me. So very nice to get to chat with her for a bit. Her surprise birthday basket is coming along, too. Dad will be picking up in the morning some gifts for her. I was able to sneakily ask if she could come back out my way before her birthday sometime in April :D Hopefully she will and I can personally surprise her with the basket. Otherwise, another friend said she will come get it and deliver.

Cozy good evening wishes to all of dear you.

Page 800!

Today was a beautiful day but predicted to be a little cooler at the ocean so we changed our plans. Ended up driving up through Pennsylvania Amish country to the Middle Creek Wildlife Area. There were 20,000 snow geese there. The highest number in 2007 was 170,000 but 20,000 seemed like a lot to me. There was a very nice visitor center with activities for kids that I was enjoying. (Doesn't take much to entertain me.) There were hiking trails too.

We had thought we might go to Shady Maple but the time didn't work out so we ended up for a very late lunch but early dinner at 4 pm at Victory Brewing Company. It was a nice day. We can take the bikes to the beach another day.

Just finished up watching Zelenskyy address Congress.
We watched this morning before we went out. He is inspiring.

Tonight is Survivor night!!!!
Just finished watching.

Saw this little Quacker
Cute duck and delicious looking cupcakes.

Friends coming from Ohio, OK, NJ and PA.
That sounds really fun.

QOTD : Do you decorate your porch areas/patio areas/front door areas of your home with potted plants in the warmer weather season?
Sometimes I but a pot of flowers on the small front step but do plant in front of it. And have tulips that come up there. And I plant some pots for the bottom of the steps from the screen porch.

Tomorrow is mall day.

Good morning and Happy St. Patrick's Day! :drinking1:shamrock: Not really a holiday I celebrate.

Yucky rainy day. Heading out in a bit to PO, library, mall for Target and Bath and Body Works, Michaels, Staples, and grocery shopping.

Can't believe I was last on here last night and first this morning 12 hours later.
