We wound up with almost ten inches of snow on Sunday into Monday. More snowblowing and all that. Because recent weather has varied between freezing and warm (it was 61 degrees on Saturday), ice has formed on many surfaces so even walking out to the car can be treacherous. (I took a bad fall in the driveway a few years ago so am now very careful.) I always think of March as the beginning of spring, so glad we’ve made it through the bulk of winter so far. Looking forward to the next season even if we still have a few months of cold.

I agree, Snowysmom. Staging, eh. It’s not absolutely necessary. You have to put money in to try to get more money out of a sale. It could be a wash, especially if you factor in time and effort. Your reserves are low already, so extra effort may be too much to ask right now. Take it easy on yourself as much as you can. (Thinking of your overall health here.) Besides, savvy buyers will be able to see the bones of the house and start to think about their own vision when they’re in there. They can do it. I think, as sad as it will be to leave, hopefully another family settles in so they can enjoy the house the way your family has all these years. One day a previous owner of our house came by. She cried reminiscing about her young family at the time they lived here. She was happy to see ours was enjoying it as much as they did. I think of them sometimes. I can’t wait to see you settled into your new place, I think you will feel better then (as hard as that will be, as well). Don’t settle. Get a place you really love. There are so many nice ones out there. Just take your time and look. Your agent can help you with that, too. Hugs.

Hope others are feeling better. Sounds like most are pretty busy despite the weather and the craziness of our world. 😵‍💫

DH went to grill our steaks last night and despite filling up the propane tank over the weekend, it was too cold out for the gas to keep the grill lit. (I think it was 16 degrees out or something like that, he said.) So he cooked them on the stove and they were still good. NY Strip with baked potato and salad. We had a nice, quiet dinner with DS, while DD and her bf went out for dinner. DH got me flowers, a card, and a nice bracelet that he sent away for, with a heart theme. Very thoughtful.

We went to see a dog the other day. It’s the first time in a long time I’ve made it that far, so that was a positive. Unfortunately, like many in rescue, the dog had an unfortunate past, and it showed in its behavior. So we’ve been giving it lots of thought and mulling it over for the past few days. Still not sure which way we’ll go with it. My hope was to find a stable older dog who just needed a home and could settle in really well over time. I know that rescues are in crisis oftentimes and feeling stressed and not at their best initially. The question becomes, will that turnaround. I believe that it probably can, to a degree, but that it will take time and effort, naturally. DH has concerns about our current dog, as do I, as in, will he be safe during that process. My hope was that he’d be happy with a new doggie sibling, ie someone to run around and play with, etc. I don’t want him stressed or hurt, he is such a stable and well-adjusted dog. So still thinking. My father used to say that when in doubt, the answer is no. I am trying to keep that in my head, especially when my heart wants to help. 😪

That’s all I’ve got right now. I hope everyone has a nice day. 🐥

Good afternoon. I am listening to the sound of drills as my ceiling goes back up.

I just wanted to do a quick pop on to pass on some sad information. I don't know if any of you remember a DIS member - mrsksomeday.

She posted a lot several years ago here and on the Trip Reports forum. I was friends with her on Facebook and sadly one of her siblings posted today that she passed away from complications from Covid. She lost her partner Bill several years ago and never got over his loss so I hope she has found some peace.

I'll be back on later to read and catch up.

@Pea-n-Me I think when you find the right dog you will know it is right. If you have to think about it then maybe the answer is no. As you say, you have Toto to think of and he is an important part of the decision.

Staging for my house just really doesn't seem necessary to me. It will be one of the few way under $1M homes in my town so I think it will get some attention. Smaller homes get bought up and torn down for McMansions here. My house is kind of in the middle between a smaller house and a McMansion so people do buy those to live in. I find I like seeing empty rooms as I can see more of what I want to do. I will take down personal pictures as I don't want prospective buyers seeing my family and it makes it less personal for buyers. I am just finding I am so busy lately that I am anxious and unsettled.

My errand of the day was buying hinges at the hardware store for the shed at the house. How exciting. My kids said they will take a look at the light in the downstairs bathroom and try to figure out if it is the switch or the light. If the light then they can replace it. They are very handy and have installed lots of lights and other things.

Have a nice rest of the day.

Good afternoon, everyone :)

Strange weather here today. Dad said it rained for maybe 10 minutes this morning. Sun is out now a bit. It's definitely much cooler than it has been.

Please be careful dear Pea! I love your home share. That reminds me of an elderly church friend who sold her home of MANY years a couple years ago to move into assisted living. Sue (a different Sue than 98 going on 99 -year old Sue--she just may have lived in her current home even longer than this Sue and her late DH lived in theirs) said she was grateful that a young family was able to buy her home. She hoped they'd create as many loving and happy memories in it as she and her family had. That also gave her added peace in her decision. Snowysmom is so right on. Perhaps God's answer right now is no to another dog. ITA if you have to think about it longer, that probably means you to give it more prayer and definitely Toto consideration, too, which I know you always so lovingly do.

Condolences and 🙏 Taz. I did not know your friend but am very sorry for her passing especially due to Covid :grouphug:

:hug:Snowysmom and prayers the selling process will go quickly, smoothly, and most of all, once underway, bring you much peace!

I didn't know her but so sorry to hear of her passing.

Lou Lou is much better today. So far no fever so she might get to go to preschool tomorrow.

I thawed out some hamburger Sunday for hamburgers but I bought a rotisserie chicken at Costco that afternoon and DH decided he didn't want to cook so we had chicken for dinner. So I need to use the hamburger and it will probably be spaghetti for dinner tonight.

Hello!
I'm so cold today, not sure why. It is 30 here, real feel of 16. That is not any different than most days recently.

We went through our closet today, I was brutal, got rid of so much. Most will be donated, but some needed to go in the trash. We just had too much, and we really didn't wear most of it anyway. I have another closet to go, but that will be another day. So many coat hangers left!! :sad2:

My knee is still causing me a lot of issues. Trying to remain positive but it is getting harder and harder.

Best wishes to all those dealing with difficult times. Kirby--- sorry to hear about your SIL, very hard.

Snowysmom--I also think staging is kind of odd, it is so obvious and kind of unnatural. Good wishes for an easy time selling.

Welcome! Nox!

I'm so glad Lou Lou is feeling better, Kirby!

Big:grouphug:Dazed and good to see you!

I can feel the wind a bit. Weather has definitely turned today. It is supposed to be in the 70's the rest of the week. I got a confirmation call from my new dentist's office about my Thursday appointment. I'd appreciate extra prayers that I feel comfortable with him and that, of course, all goes safely. Thank you, friends :grouphug:

@dazedx3 I hope your knee gets better soon. Be good to yourself and your knee. This is most likely just a bump in the road that will work out soon.

Staging does seem unnatural especially for the kind of house I am selling. It is just an ordinary split entry, nothing special. I will see what the real estate agent has to say tomorrow when I question him about it.

Missing so many days again but my niece is keeping me busy. Thought I'd pop on to share our crazy weather. Sunday it was so warm...while the most everyone watched the Super Bowl at our friends, the kids who were over(their niece's and my niece) went swimming and right now its snowing.:laughing: It's was like more than a 20° difference between yesterday and earlier today. I'm missing it because I brought my niece home yesterday for school this week but it's just crazy. Her parents will be home tomorrow and I'll be headed home later in the evening so I'll be back then.

Happy Wednesday! ☀

It will be getting to 63 degrees this afternoon here in Cincinnati, then rain all day tomorrow. I made some ravioli and sauce last night for dinner so I'll probably take a walk after work and drop a bowl off to my aunt.

Watched the Olympics last night. A kid from my area won the silver medal in Freestyle Skiing, so that's good.

I'm kind of up in the air about the staging of the house. If I have to pay extra for it to be done, then I wouldn't do it however, it is nice to see how big the room is based on the furniture in the room. My 3rd bedroom was being used as an office (just a desk, chair and a bookcase in the room) but was classified as a bedroom. Once we moved bedroom furniture in there, it wasn't all that big. I would have liked to have seen it set up as a bedroom. For me, I can't really visualize how big the room is if it's empty.

That's all I have for today. I need to check around at places to have my brakes done, that should be fun :headache:. Have a great day! :dogdance:

Good middle of the week morning! 28 outside now, but going to be 58 and sunny later. It's grocery and errand day here. Already took the trash down to the street and fed the cats. Trying to decide what to defrost for dinner, but can't make up my mind,,lol. Maybe I'll get some new ideas at the grocery store.

Have a great day!

I want to say here how much PollyannaMom has made my day by introducing me to Nerdle. It’s a number puzzle that doesn’t take long to do, there’s a new one every day, and I’m happy to spend some time every morning with my friends, Numbers.

(I also enjoy coming here and reading how you all are doing :) )

Bobbi

Good morning.

30 now going up to 49, sunny. Our membership to Longwood expires next week so I think we are going today for one last walk. We are going to renew a little later in the spring. Going to renew together with DD as Tessa will be old enough to have to pay so cheaper for us to go together on it.

I am taking off early to go meet the real estate agent at the house.
I hope all goes well.

I am a self proclaimed math nerd. My favorite subject in school. I found Nerdle challenging and have only played twice. May try again.
Dang, just went and played the 6 digit one and got it in the second try.

Good Morning,

It was sure windy last night and cold! Extra grateful for warm, safe shelter. this morning is cold yet the 🌞is out. I'm looking online right now for some extra Easter cards to send out. Dad is off to the 99 Cent Only Store. Supply even there has gone done of late. A reminder to get something when you can and if it's something you use often (like wipes) good idea to stock up a bit! The same thing may suddenly be hard to find. I will sure never take for granted being able to find any basic thing again!

Stay warm, friends and Happy Wednesday!

Morning all. Ok, really afternoon all, because I swore I hit send on this earlier, but apparently I did not!

Well, our weather has turned warmer. It's 54 at 9am, and will be 75 today; we'll be in the 80s later this week. We'll see if the a/c system is working or not, lol.

@bobbiwoz I am not a numbers girl. LOL I love Wordle (and other word games too), but numbers and I don't get along.

@Snowysmom Lots of luck with the real estate agent.

I didn't get anything I planned yesterday done. I'm not sure if I tweaked my lower back again (like I did when I fell in July) or if I might be getting a kidney infection, but yesterday after I posted, my back started hurting so bad. I went and soaked in a hot tub for an hour (kept adding more hot water), sat with a heating pad and a bag of frozen peas alternately on and off, and drank about 100 oz of water. Popped tylenol (all I had) all day too.

Slept only on my sides last night, instead of on my belly, and kept waking up and turning over and over, trying to keep my back/legs/hips straight and aligned.

This morning, I'm still hurting, but the pain is now a dull roar instead of shout. Still not sure where the pain is from. I'm taking it easy though, and will drink another gazillion oz of water, and will keep alternating hot/cold when I'm sitting today.

I did get the extra spices into new organizers that came in from Amz yesterday. I also got the rest of my pantry organized with more new containers, and put away the boxes of cleaning supplies. I still have to scoop the cat litter, and move my computer area around, so that I can get the new screens up (to block off the cat litter area), but I'm not sure if my back is going to cooperate. That may need to wait until tomorrow.

Dinner tonight is a beef stirfry (fresh veggies, and I have sliced steak sandwich meat to use up). I had leftovers from Monday's vegetarian dinner for lunch.

If you have a TJ near by, I have discovered I love their French Onion mac n cheese (frozen). At first I was all, weird, but then it clicked. Also, love their Tzatiki dip (but not the Green Goddess...that was too Greek yogurt dry texture/flavor for me); we had it with Monday's dinner and it was really good.

Ok, I still need to shower (ugh, and it's already 2pm) so I'd better get moving again. Have a good day!
