Good afternoon.

❤❤Happy Valentine's Day!❤❤

DH and I went to lunch at an Italian restaurant we like. We didn't know that even at lunch it was a special menu. They usually have a lunch buffet we wanted to try but not today. Well, we had a very nice lunch and no need for much dinner. We both had salad, then I had ravioli and DH had lasagna, and finally we shared tiramisu.

Only 28 outside now and windy, so even though sunny we aren't going outside.

Check out the Google Doodle this morning.
Thanks for pointing that out. It was cute.

I'm praying for a peaceful passing.
I pray that for her as well.

@Nox, :welcome:

@Kirby Prayers for a peaceful passing for your SIL

I got Valentine flowers from younger DS and family as well as my older DS and family. Pink roses and orange roses. So pretty and much needed and soothing for me. I bought myself a small box of chocolates for a treat. I did say Happy Valentine's Day to Chris and wrote out a card to him.

I called the real estate agent today and will be meeting him at the house on Wednesday. I told him I want to put the house on market ASAP. He understands and is very helpful. He has a staging person and a photo person. I am not so much into the staging aspect as some things are staying at the house until the movers bring them to my new place to live. That is just the way it is. The stuff is on shelves which are not overwhelming or ugly. I don't want to have to bring them to my DS's and then to a new place. I have enough stuff to bring from DS's house. He is also helping me to find a place. He knows I want to be near my younger DS. I would love to stay in my town but one floor condos don't come up often. I may need to go the town next to younger DS which would be OK since I would be very close to DS and family. The agent told me that the market is starting to pick up a bit so I hope more nice condos come up. Plus I hope my house sells quickly.

I hope everyone has a good evening.

Here it is ❤🥞

❤extra to both of you Kirby and Snowysmom, as well.

Kirby, I also pray her passing is peaceful indeed.

Snowysmom, I am very happy you treated yourself to those chocolates today and enjoyed some roses 🌹 as well, they sound pretty. :grouphug:and continued prayer all things-house wise. LOVE that you took the care to write Chris a Valentine. I PRAY doing so brought you added comfort, peace, and in even a teeny way, knowing that indeed Chris was able to read it. You are such a courageous lady.

Welcome Nox and thank you for your story about your dad. We're leaving early Friday morning. I hope that for DH's sake it will be in time and she will be able to know that he is there. On the flip side neither of us want her to be in any more pain.

Did a little office work, wasn't much in the mood. Also, rather tired. Lou Lou always ends up in our bed during the night and I don't usually sleep well with her there. Her coughing kept me awake a lot and I finally just sat down with her and dozed while she watched a movie. DH is pretty tired too. I hope that we get better rest tonight.

Good morning. 7 degrees here and expected to go into the mid 20s. I had a bad night. I was up thinking about the house and what I need to do now that the selling is near. I need to buy hinges for the shed door so DS can put those on, other DS needs to put up the new mailbox I bought Plus Chris never had the electrician come in to change out some outlets and the downstairs bathroom light or the switch does not work and he did not call for that either. We both had our tasks in the house and his was getting the repairs done that we needed. And the agent talking about a stager coming in has me nervous. I don't want all that hoopla. Rooms are empty except my bedroom the living room, dining room, and sunroom. And those rooms don't have alot in them. People coming in to look can imagine what they want to do with the rooms. I know I am crazy but this is stressful for me.

Have a nice day.

Happy Tuesday everyone! ☀ Cold but sunny today for me.

Back in the office today , nothing I can do about it so I just deal with it. Nothing exciting went on yesterday. I did take some Rubbermaid totes down to Ds1 so they can use them for packing. They rented a storage unit so most of their stuff will be going in there until they either find a house or commit to building one. Last night's dinner was Chipotle, they had double reward points for Valentine's Day so I wasn't going to pass that up :rolleyes2. Watched some of the Olympics and then went to bed. Pretty boring, I know.

Have a great day! :wave2:

Good morning.

15 with a wind chill of 6. Brrr.

I have my 2 hour shift at church today then stopping at the grocery store on the way home. We had scrambled eggs for dinner last night after such a big lunch. Tonight is homemade pizza with all the left over supplies from Sunday. Not letting that dough go to waste.

I know I am crazy but this is stressful for me.
your feelings are yours. You don’t need to apologize for them. And no matter what, selling your home would be stressful for anyone.

...And the agent talking about a stager coming in has me nervous. I don't want all that hoopla. Rooms are empty except my bedroom the living room, dining room, and sunroom.

You're not crazy! - Whatever you're feeling is what you're feeling.

That said, try not to stress, as the professionals move it all in, and move it all back out...which means you don't have to do a thing!

DH and I sometimes watch those home improvement shoes on TV, and one of them said staging was about showing people creative ways to use a space. It gets them excited about what they could do, instead of overwhelmed figuring out what to do.

It's also a balancing act, because agents tell you to take out things like personal photos (because those make it look to the buyers like "someone else's house" not "their house") but the other extreme (empty rooms) looks too stark. - Buyers don't see that as "homey" so they don't offer as much. The compromise is to stage it with pretty but not personal stuff. - They'll set the table, things like that.

Lou Lou usually shows some improvement with an ear infection after a dose or two of Amoxicillian but not so this time. I think that she has something else and the ear infection is a side effect.
Hope she's feeling better-
We both had salad, then I had ravioli and DH had lasagna
I'm not sure why, but I've been craving spag & meatballs w/ garlic bread for a few days. Like really craving it so bad I can almost taste it! Not sure why...but I might need to make some tonight!
I told him I want to put the house on market ASAP
I think you'll feel better about it once they have the house on the market and that big hurdle is completed.

Good morning everyone. Boy it's brisk outside! A sunny 23 out, but it's not windy so it's not to bad all things considered. Got some running around mid day - stop at post office, PCR test to attend some meetings later this week, pick up some business cards I ordered for a newer employee, and finally my car is due for emissions test, so I'll do that as well. Then I'll stop at home and toss some meatballs & sauce in the crockpot, and back to the office. This evening I need to pack for a quick work trip to LAS & Denver and figure out when I need to leave in the morning for the airport. Not sure if I'm coming back Friday or Saturday, plans are a bit up in the air. If I come home Friday I might head up to Costco on Sunday to pick up a few things. If I come home Saturday I think I'll just veg out on Sunday.

Good morning..again. What the heck..I posted my good morning message on here at 7:00 and now it's disappeared? I will try again
It was a balmy 9 degrees when I got up. Now the sun is shining and its 27, but only going to 30. We watched Olympics last nite, and who in the world would be doing ski jumping when it was 6 degrees there and they said with the wind chill it was -22, that is crazy!
I have already gathered all the trash for tomorrow, made my grocery list , and did the dishes. I am off to put a load of laundry in the washer as soon as I post this
@Snowysmom, I agree with PollyannaMom and easy. Your feelings are yours, and I think you will feel a lot 'lighter' when the house is on the market and sold. I am sure there will also be some sad feelings when it actually sells and you move out for good. I am praying that you find something you love enough to buy it and get more settled in. That will also help you feel better, not having to keep running back and forth all the time. I too don't get the 'staging' thing. I see those shows where they show the budget for staging is like $4000. Who wants to pay that just to have buyers see what a house would look like with furniture in it. This one was completely empty when we looked at it, and I loved seeing the empty space and picturing that our furniture would look like

Have a nice day everyone..stay warm!

MOrning all. It was 30 when we got up this morning...BRRRR. Having a high of 67 today, so I'll open up the house in a few hours, when it hits at least 45. LOL

Not much going on here; just the usual unpacking mess that happens after you move. I can't unpack the books for the bookshelves until this weekend; DH has to move them to where I want them, then bolt them into the wall. They're from IKEA, so will tip over pretty easily if not secured, but they were a good price when I bought them, and seem to be standing up to use. Once he gets them done, I can unpack at least 10 boxes, lol. (I half-packed boxes with books, and then with pillows or throw blankets or other light things, to make sure the boxes didn't break during moving.)

Todays unpacking list: I need to go to the hall bath and clean up all the dead ants, then get the cleaning stuff unpacked under the sink. Then I'm hoping I can get into the garage. I need to move the shelves there where I want them, and start putting the storage stuff (Christmas, camping, etc) on them. I think I'm going to have to buy another cube shelf or something for my candles, and put it in my office area (as DH wants them out of the bedroom, lol). That will empty another 2-3 boxes (again, half packed). I also have to repack everything that was in the storage shed (and check for breakage) at the apartment, because 70% of the totes broke when the movers tossed them in there during the last move. I'm not happy about that, nor about some issues that I've found with this move (same movers). Next move, we will change moving companies, I think; we try to give local businesses our money, but they have to do it right if they want repeat business or good reviews.

Yesterday, I made roasted chickpeas/carrots/red onion, with veggie stock farro, tzatiki sauce from Trader Joe's, and pickled red onion, with some garlic/onion naan. It's my strongest vegetarian dish, besides the shakshuka, lol. Tonight is pasta (some sort of filled ravioli, I have a couple different kinds) with some caprese chicken sausage and some roasted red pepper sauce. If I feel better after the soak, I'll make some foccacia (if I can find the rest of my flour containers, lol). We still have raspberry shortbread hearts from TJ, and Madelines and apple fritters from Sam's for dessert.

Much prayer and love all-around, Kirby. I truly pray DH gets there in time, too and that doing so brings him some peace. Prayers for Lou Lou to feel better. So hard when kiddos are sick.

Hug, Snowysmom and one step at a time. How you feel is how YOU feel! Never be sorry for that. Remember to please take care of YOU! Lots of kind and so very true words from fellow Quackers above my own. Thank you all for sharing them. ITA also that I hope (and sure pray) you will feel better and more at peace once the house is on the market and the process is moving forward in that way.

Enjoy some sun, Footballmouse. I hope your dinner last night was tasty, too :)

Yikes, that is COLD, Carol! Scrambled eggs help make one of my favorite dinners.

PollyannaMom, I like how you put that! Staging is a way to get people to think about how they could use a space. I should watch some house Hunter’s later and try to pay more attention to furnishings to see what I think :)

Enjoy some spaghetti tonight, Easyas! Wow, it sounds like another whirlwind week for you. Be safe, please.

Hug Lynn. I have to admit to usually not caring for a lot of the furnishings on the home improvement show. I also have little to no interest in “modern” styles or wanting to know the differences between them. My design preferences would most likely be considered by HGTV folks to be very traditional and old-school. I like more reddish honey -colored cabinets and flooring. That, to me, feels more -homey! Light and bright though for sure. I do enjoy watching HGTV at times as it is a way to travel from home plus (I hope) get to root for some families/couples as well. As a P.S. I wouldn’t be doing skiing or jumping period let alone together in any weather let alone 6 degrees :D

Hug, B&B, I hope you are able to stay happily put in your current new place for years to come! One step at a time reminder to you, too!

It's cooler here this morning. Back to wearing long sleeves although it's still thankfully warmish in the apartment. I think feeling cooler is more me going through perimenopause than it truly being cold in here. Grateful for that! Quiet morning. Dad is at the laundry mat.

🐥🌸
Have a good day, friends. I'll check back later.

Just a quick pop in to say "hi" since I have not posted in awhile. I have been reading though and keeping up.

snowysmom - Much prayer and good thoughts headed your way as you start the process of getting the house listed and hopefully sold in a relatively short amount of time. Just take thins one step at a time. Discuss your concerns with the realtor. From what you have described he is an honest and trustworthy person, so he should have no problems addressing your concerns/questions.

kirby - Hope Lou Lou is starting to feel better.

Welcome to the thread Nox! Hope you stick around, it's a friendly little bunch here.

We are due for some icky weather tomorrow night into Thursday. Starting out as rain and turning to ice/snow. I hope we miss the brunt of it. I don't mind snow or cold, but no thanks on wind and ice. As always, I just hope the power stays on. I could go for a school delay on Thursday though...but not really excited about a full "snow day" that will just have to be made up during our spring break or at the end of the year. My kids, of course, would be thrilled for a snow day. We have not had one yet this year.

I worked in the concession stand last night for a basketball game at our school. The popcorn got the best of me and now I have a small welt on my hand from a flying popping kernel that escaped when I was dumping out the pot. My own fault for sure for not wearing the glove they have for that specific purpose. It's really not that bad, but crazy how such a little thing can cause that much of an issue.

Take care all.
