Good Morning Quackers,

Have a safe and fun time, Carol :)

Wishing all of you a safe and good weekend upcoming as well with my thanks, too, for all who have served and their families.

It's cool here so far this early morning, May Gray?

Please keep my Dad in a bit of extra prayer, thank you:hug: He will be fine, thank God, no worry. Protecting his privacy by being a bit vague but always am so Blessed and thankful to be able to turn to all of you!

ETA: I really want to make this Father's Day extra special for Dad. I truly would appreciate help with finding a horizontal Happy Father's Day, Dad image in bright colors. Lol, I am not finding anything. The best one was the vertical from yesterday but that's just the wrong way! I did not see on Amazon a personalized vertical hanging sign option. Thank you, my friends.

Just checked Ebay..and there are only 2 that I see,,but way too expensive at $50 and $60--yikes! There is a large 3x5 foot indoor outdoor one for a reasonable price though--https://www.ebay.com/itm/152954318534?hash=item239cc9aec6:g:KfoAAOSwElpasx4H

Thanks, Easyas. How big are they? I would need something very small but ideally vertical. Thinking 8X10!

I appreciate your looking, Lynn :) I had in mind something much smaller and also an image I could save onto my computer to put on the Amazon hanging sign. I should have said that, sorry. I had found on Amazon vertical pennant type sign that could be customized, I finally realized it would be HUGE. Back to needing a horizontal image that I can save as a picture to put on the hanging sign that is the perfect size :)

Welcome to our thread, Frog, and thank you as well!

Thank you All🌷

Would any of you techy friends now how to save this image as a Jpeg file? This would be the perfect picture to have put onto the sign. I was planning to get Dad a custom bear for Father's Day anyway! :)

Man oh man is it dumping down the rain. I am really glad that I didn't even consider planting those tomatoes yesterday, even though I did give it a thought. lol. It has shut up the cicada's though. Only sound outside is the rain and the birds.

My sister in law got a new (used) car on Tuesday,,and waited till 2:45 today to go to the DMV. I told her not a good idea..Friday afternoon before a holiday. She has now been standing there in line since 2:45..and they won't take anyone after 3:45, so it's looking like she might have to wait till next week to get it registered and get the plates for it.

Spaghetti and Italian sausage for dinner..with garlic bread and salad. And if it gets much cooler outside,,we might have to turn the heat on tonite, instead of the ac!

:hug:Pea and thank you so much! I feel badly to say the only problem is the blue heart is covering the bear's eye/ Is there anyway to move that?

Yikes, you stay warm nd safe inside, Lynn! I'm sorry your SIL might have to make a return DMV trip. You're so right she probably should gone earlier in the week. Dad said Ralph's was much busier than usual this morning. I told him that was probably because it's Memorial Day weekend.

🐣 Finally caught up. Happy Birthday, @sweetpeama! 🎂 Have a nice trip, @Breezy_Carol! :goodvibes

Those cicadas are nasty! I want to say I have seen (and heard) them before, but not sure. Thankfully, none here. 😅

Well thankfully my sleep has improved, and I got a lot of my energy back! Had a very, very sick patient last weekend working three in a row so I was surprised I did, often I’m so drained after that type of work week. DD and I did a lot of shopping this week, and had an absolutely beautiful and perfect night for a twilight baseball game last night in Boston. My cousin lives near the field so stopped by, which was super. Didn’t get home until very late. DS is playing softball this summer and we’ll have to get to some of his games, too - his bat is hot, with two doubles and a grand slam the other night! He is feeling a lot better; his scan and more labs came back mostly unremarkable this week, thank you for all the prayers, I’m sure they helped!

I was able to buy DS a nice navy blue suit at Macy’s the other day while I was there (if you remember I was looking for one). He hasn’t had a moment to try it on yet, we’re like two ships passing in the night with our work schedules, but hopefully it will fit him when he does. Met a super nice sales lady and we got talking for quite a while. She‘d actually come up to me to ask if I needed help, which was a first in almost any store in long time. She helped me find something for a muscular build (she says otherwise arms can be tight), I was looking at the wrong types on my own. I was so thankful. I think I told you how DS had to withdraw an application for a job due to some issues he was having with his legs. Well, he wound up getting a promotion in his current job to a supervisor, so that wouldn’t have happened had he left (I always do feel that when one door closes, another opens, as I mentioned!), and it will be good for his resume as it is related to the field he wishes to enter. He had additional training this week and is exhausted, as he’s only had one day off in the last couple of weeks (which he will finish up Sunday, then go to his regular schedule), but he’s feeling good physically and mentally, which I’m glad about. He takes a municipal test in a few weeks which he’s been studying for🤞🏻 for a good score.

QOTD I am working some of this weekend, but Monday I am going to the cemetery, then doing some yard work. Yard is looking pretty good, but have some more details to tend to, like trimming some of the trees and bushes, and finishing up our garden. DH rebuilt our garden to keep pests out so hopefully that works for us this year. Often, the bunnies eat everything. (But we don’t really mind! lol)

We had a nice dinner out this week at one of our favorite Italian places. Of course, I had to take a picture to share. I love Chicken Marsala with angel hair pasta, it’s so good. (And DH had the shrimp scampi.) They have warm bread to dip in oil and cheese, and we got a delicious Caesar salad to share, too. Got two meals out of it. (Funny, there was group of nine ladies out celebrating with many bottles of wine who were in the same room as us - they were all screaming over one another, and so loud we couldn’t hear ourselves talk, but I figured what the heck, it’s been a long year, let them have a good time. Others in the room were really annoyed, though! Once their food came, thankfully the noise subsided quite a bit. 🙉)

This was just a salad I made at home - romaine, parmesan, grape tomatoes, garlicy croutons, and creamy balsamic. Yum.

Toto loves having the pool open. He his own floats. Here he is helping DH clean it.

Enjoy the weekend, everyone! 🍔🌭🥗🍷

And thank you to all the veterans who have served, and given their lives for our freedom! 🇺🇸

Sure, will re-do. Check back right here in a few mins.

ETA I think this one came out better. Because the hearts “travel” down to the left, this is about the best that can be done with that particular gif. I think it looks pretty good though!

Happy Friday all! Lost track of some days this week...lol Feel like there's no way its Friday already and then again, I feel like it was a long week. Dh went out of town for work Wednesday and got back late last night, I felt like he was gone the whole week...so strange.

DH and a friend are doing some work in the yard today, DD is at work, and I should be cleaning something but not feeling it. I've been feeling down this week...I know it's to be expected but I don't like it and it's keeping me from getting stuff I need to do done. :guilty:

We're having street tacos on the grill tonight, we invited our friends to eat and my dad will be coming over so hopefully that helps a little.

And a little funny to share...DH wanted to go to the store with me this morning. We went in my car and didn't realize until we were in the parking lot, we don't have any extra masks in there for him. I knew he could probably ask at the checkstand for one but I said have an extra(clean one) in my purse, you can wear it backwards since it's purple with flowers . :p He said I don't care I'll wear it with the flowers showing... so we walked around the store together with our purple flower masks. I noticed a couple people staring but he said, who's going to say something to a big bald guy just because he's wearing a flower mask.

That is an adorable Toto picture, Pea! He is precious :dog2: Praise God on all good news on your DS! I am so thankful to read that, my friend. I appreciate your redoing the photo for me, too. It's perfect. Now to contact Amazon to see if I had Prime whether it would come sooner. I didn't realize it might not come until starting on June 21st :(

Hug, AuntieMe3, time is still very strange at indeed every so often! Lol, hooray for 💐 purple flowers.

You’re welcome! It’s sweet you’re so close to your Dad. He must be very special! ❤

I appreciate so much all the prayers from each of you, thank you :grouphug:

Good news picture update thanks to Pea! The sign I had intended to get was sold by a third party seller. The earliest it would come (I chatted with Amazon) would indeed be AFTER Father's Day. So, I added the image to my CVS photo account and was able to order a 5X7 for just about $3 that way :D Next time, Dad goes to the 99 Cent only store, I can have him buy a 5X7 frame. Problem much more cheaply solved!

Afternoon, all. ((huggles)) for those who need or want them, and extra (((huggles))) to @flyingdumbo127 for her dad.

@Pea-n-Me That food looks delicious! I have been craving pasta (because I cut most of the carbs out of my life last Tuesday)....and now I want my cheat day to come so I can splurge! Although, if I do enough exercise, the little Fitbit tells me I can have more calories, so maybe I'll just walk an extra couple miles for pasta...... :guilty:

Not too much going on, with DH back to work. DD#2 will be here June 11th; so excited to see her, SoIL#2 and DGS#2!

DS17 finished off his classwork, so as of next week, he'll be classified as a senior. Man, where did the time go? Just last week, he was my little tow-headed boy who would climb into my lap and sleepily ask for 'choco milk, mama, pease' to drink with his Bear in the Big Blue House time. :sad1: He has to do some volunteer work this summer; it's required here for graduation (and more, for the Florida schloarship program); he put it off his freshman year, thinking he'd have enough time, and planned on doing it the summer of his sophomore year....but we all know how last summer went! So, now he has to do a lot this summer, and he is planning on taking 2 of his required classes over the summer as well, to get ahead of things, and then get a job on top. He wants to take a year off schooling after high school, and that's his choice, but he has to be working at least part time, and volunteering part time, or working full time, if he doesn't go straight to college. (that's the rule we had with the girls; stay rent free if you are working and saving for your own place or college, or be in school)

ETA: We did go to Metro Diner (the one closest to us) for brunch today, and yes, I got the shrimp and grits. I shared with DH, so they only half count. LOL Our poor server was running about 10 tables, inside and out, and doing phone orders, and at one point, she slipped and fell on her behind. She was ok, and I left her an extra big tip, with some kind words for her on the receipt.

So, a little brag here...y'all know that I have decided to drop some weight (some...lol...I'm trying to lose HALF my body weight...which will put me in the 'appropriate' range for my height, almost)...and since last Tuesday, when I started taking it seriously, I have dropped....4.5 lbs! :cool1::banana::dogdance: I am so proud of myself. I am able to walk 3 miles, with about 2 miles of that at a fast pace (well, fast for me, anyways, lol), so 1/2 mile warm up, and 1/2 mile cooldown. I told DH that if I stay on this particular 'hardest' program, I should have all the weight off in just over a year, and that I'll need to buy a whole new wardrobe, and he said, well, max out the credit cards if you want, as long as you're happy with you. I haven't been happy with me or proud of me in...jeez, since I got pregnant with DS, so freaking 18 years ago :(....so this is a big deal for me. :yay:

No Memorial Day plans; we've never really done a big thing on that day. Going to be busy getting things organized for when DD comes. For Father's Day, I'm going to our used bookstore tomorrow and picking up the leatherbound set of Lord of the Rings for DH, for DS to give him.
