Afternoon, all. ((huggles)) for those who need or want them, and extra (((huggles))) to
@flyingdumbo127 for her dad.
@Pea-n-Me That food looks delicious! I have been craving pasta (because I cut most of the carbs out of my life last Tuesday)....and now I want my cheat day to come so I can splurge! Although, if I do enough exercise, the little Fitbit tells me I can have more calories, so maybe I'll just walk an extra couple miles for pasta......
Not too much going on, with DH back to work. DD#2 will be here June 11th; so excited to see her, SoIL#2 and DGS#2!
DS17 finished off his classwork, so as of next week, he'll be classified as a senior. Man, where did the time go? Just last week, he was my little tow-headed boy who would climb into my lap and sleepily ask for 'choco milk, mama, pease' to drink with his Bear in the Big Blue House time.

He has to do some volunteer work this summer; it's required here for graduation (and more, for the Florida schloarship program); he put it off his freshman year, thinking he'd have enough time, and planned on doing it the summer of his sophomore year....but we all know how last summer went! So, now he has to do a lot this summer, and he is planning on taking 2 of his required classes over the summer as well, to get ahead of things, and then get a job on top. He wants to take a year off schooling after high school, and that's his choice, but he has to be working at least part time, and volunteering part time, or working full time, if he doesn't go straight to college. (that's the rule we had with the girls; stay rent free if you are working and saving for your own place or college, or be in school)
ETA: We did go to Metro Diner (the one closest to us) for brunch today, and yes, I got the shrimp and grits. I shared with DH, so they only half count. LOL Our poor server was running about 10 tables, inside and out, and doing phone orders, and at one point, she slipped and fell on her behind. She was ok, and I left her an extra big tip, with some kind words for her on the receipt.
So, a little brag here...y'all know that I have decided to drop some weight (some...lol...I'm trying to lose HALF my body weight...which will put me in the 'appropriate' range for my height, almost)...and since last Tuesday, when I started taking it seriously, I have dropped....4.5 lbs!

I am so proud of myself. I am able to walk 3 miles, with about 2 miles of that at a fast pace (well, fast for me, anyways, lol), so 1/2 mile warm up, and 1/2 mile cooldown. I told DH that if I stay on this particular 'hardest' program, I should have all the weight off in just over a year, and that I'll need to buy a whole new wardrobe, and he said, well, max out the credit cards if you want, as long as you're happy with you. I haven't been happy with me or proud of me in...jeez, since I got pregnant with DS, so freaking 18 years ago

....so this is a big deal for me.
No Memorial Day plans; we've never really done a big thing on that day. Going to be busy getting things organized for when DD comes. For Father's Day, I'm going to our used bookstore tomorrow and picking up the leatherbound set of Lord of the Rings for DH, for DS to give him.
