Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Too funny about the movie recs! I either read right over that or thought it had auto-corrected. Anyway, the one you've already got:
The movie someone recommended to me was Miracles from Heaven. I never got a chance to watch it, though!
is an excellent movie, and I think you will love it when you can make the time!

@Lynn, the good ole days of nurse/PT/OT/aide visits, I remember them well.

I'm more of a series type of person currently. Movies are too long. I prefer hour long episodes over 30 minutes.

Anyone a Dexter fan? A new season called Dexter: New Blood airs on September 7th on Showtime. I've not been able to get into that series but I might try again. Third times the charm and it's worked before.

I’m sorry it’s still so hot, Lynn. I continue to pray that all the home health care people come on time and coordinate their schedules better! That should not be that difficult!

Pea, I just Googled Miracles from Heaven and the next time dad and I have a trial of Prime, I definitely will watch it. Thank you for the recommendation. LOL, sorry for not clearly reading what you said along with most everyone else. I have enjoyed everyone’s movies suggestions though and I did like A League of Their Own :) ETA: Yay, I thought to look on the library's website and they have this movie and the book version for loan for free!

So funny, Easyas :)

ITA, Kirby, to preferring shorter series to most movies. The handy thing about DVR is not having to watch a movie all that once.

I hope all of you are enjoying the afternoon. Quiet here. I am always extra grateful for Friday afternoons because dad is safely home for the weekend. We are going to try the biggest green section of paper this weekend. I will post how it goes!

101 degrees outside,,feels like 107 too much!

PT guy was sneaky..he came in and said to hubby..so..we are going to try getting you down the step outside..how about that? Hubby and I both looked doubtful (me because it was too darned hot out!)..He brought the wheelchair into the kitchen, had hubby walk into the kitchen and to the doorway with the walker. Then Matt took the wheelchair outside and put it right at the bottom of the step. Hubby turned around..and went backwards down the little sill step..then hesitated, but made it down the regular step. Matt had him sit in the chair,,and we put a pillow over his head to shield the heat. Then Matt had me go back inside..and had hubby stand up and go up the 1 step. Hubby kept saying I can't do it..we both said you can..only one more little step and you are inside. Matt stood right behind him, just in case he lost his balance. But he made it up, and to the walker, Then Matt grabbed the wheelchair and brought it in and had hubby sit in it. Then hubby wanted to do the 'sit in front of the sink and use the sink to stand up, and managed to do it 2x, by himself. Matt said he has some 7 foot truck ramps he is going to bring on Monday..so I can try the wheelchair and see if I can get hubby up and down in it if necessary. I still think I need a second person with me, just for support..Their idea is that he be able to make it to the ortho appt on Thursday, which is still iffy. But we will give his ramps a shot, and if they work I will order some on Amazon. He said he didn't want to tell hubby that the step is what we would try today earlier, so he wouldn't have time to talk himself out of it..which he most likely would have done. Now he has a little more confidence that he can do it! I gave Matt a bag of tomatoes to take home to thank him for the extra effort he put in today, lol!

Dinner is going to be leftovers..we each have 1/2 a sub, we have pasta with italian sausage and we have seafood salad..have to see what we are in the mood for.

Stay cool everyone..cooler temps and rain may be on the way!

The last season was just bad.

I think I've hit my wall for chores today. My AC is set to 70, and it's still 81 in here. The bathroom can wait 'til morning while I sit in front of the TV.

I think I read somewhere that A/C is good up to 20 degrees less than the temp outside. After that, it struggles. I may be wrong, but I think I'm right. LOL (I do that alot!)

Oh hey. I might be in a bit of trouble with the Dis, so if I disappear for a few days, you know why.
I responded on the thread about conspiracy family members, and I was nice, but my comment was definitely gonna get slapped.

If B&B goes away, I'll be back. My first post will be "The Unicorn wears Uncle Tim's long johns."

Uh oh.... I kinda want to go see what you commented....but I already know that post will stress me out. :rotfl:

I am over the heat and it wasn't even that hot today. It was only 91....lol but we're under several weather watch so its a lot more humid out than normal for us. Lots of thunderstorms happening out in the desert, farther away from us but we cam still feel the change in the air. Hopefully we at least get a lightening show tonight.

Went to my appt yesterday, my BP was high 3 times before we got a good reading on my machine. I don't even know how long I was in there. My Dr ended up upping my dosage and I'm supposed to go back in 2 weeks for another check and bloodwork. Saw I've gained more weight, which I knew was happening but was kind of denying it so I'm now actively trying to watch what I eat and exercise more.

I had two friends come over for dinner last night and my one friend who's a stylist gave DD and I haircuts. It's been awhile for Dd and her hair grows fast so she really needed it, I just got a tiny trim.

And then.....my sister called to let me know they canceled a trip to WDW they were supposed to leave for on Saturday. Her and my BIL were going to surprise my niece for her 6th birthday but with. Covid cases in FL and plus I guess a tropical storm that was supposed to be headed that way, they decided it would be best to cancel. So instead they are taking my niece to Disneyland on Monday and California Adventure on Tuesday and my sister offered to buy my ticket if I wanted to go with, so I'll be going back to the parks sooner than I expected. I'm excited. DH and DD are leaving out of town tomorrow so we need someone to stay with the dogs overnight so I can stay the night at the hotel near DL. DD is trying to find a friend of hers to dog sit but if she can't find anyone, I'll just drive home Monday night and drive back down to meet them Tuesday morning.

Hubby got home super late last night and I know I should cook a home cooked meal for him since he's eats out alot while he's away but I'm just not in the mood so we might get take out....lol I'll suggest something he can't get up there....lol

Of course since you said that I had to go find your post. I found absolutely nothing wrong with it,, and I don't see why you would get slapped with points. You said nothing that a lot of us haven't thought about,,so I hope the Mods also see it that way!

:cheer2:For Mr. L and always, you as well, Lynn! Good for him for trying! One step at a time indeed :)

That sounds like a good plan, PollyannaMom! I hope you find something fun to watch, my friend. I looked for a TV smiley but am not not finding one.

:hug:B&B

Continued prayer for you, AuntieMe3. Please do take care and have fun at DL. Say hi to Mickey for me ::MickeyMo

Good morning QUACKers..welcome to the weekend. We had a brief storm last nite with maybe 10 minutes of rain. All that did was make it muggy instead of the dry heat we had. Its 70 now and going to a high of 86. Tomorrow should be nice, then Mon thru Wed chance of rain.

Hubby was up till 3 am watching tv instead of sleeping, so he's out like a light now and better stay that way for a couple of hours. Only things on my to do list today are strip and remake the bed, make meals, and give myself a relaxing beauty treatment. I need about half a day to myself, but thats not happening, so I will make the best of an hour or 2 later today.

Have a nice morning all, hope your heat wave has or is subsiding!

Good morning.

I gave Matt a bag of tomatoes to take home
The best part of home PT in August was the fresh veggies I got. We weren't supposed to take gifts but I figured I was doing them a favor taking tomatoes and zucchini off their hands.

I responded on the thread about conspiracy family members,

I had to go look at it too. I found nothing objectionable about your post at all.

Not much going on here. Last night we went to the Friday night dance party at our dance studio. It is an hour of open dancing when the teachers can give out pointers. It was only us and another coupls last night so got a lot of good practice.

Today, Paisley - the grand dog - comes to spend a week while DD is on vacation.
