Good morning.

The best part of home PT in August was the fresh veggies I got. We weren't supposed to take gifts but I figured I was doing them a favor taking tomatoes and zucchini off their hands.

He was very happy to get them. I imagine right now a lot of home gardeners have excess on their hands and are glad for someone to take it and share it with! He said they had 2 tomato plants in pails by their back door, but that they aren't getting many tomatoes. I never had luck with growing them in pails or pots..it seemed that they always rotted out.

I had to go look at it too. I found nothing objectionable about your post at all.

Me either..wonder if she was given any points? Maybe she will reappear under a different name today and make us guess who she is,,lol!

Not much going on here. Last night we went to the Friday night dance party at our dance studio. It is an hour of open dancing when the teachers can give out pointers. It was only us and another coupls last night so got a lot of good practice.

Its raining, it's raining!!! A nice light steady rain..if we could have 2 or 3 days of this, it would help so much. They just said it was the hottest and driest July and August on record here so far.

Today, Paisley - the grand dog - comes to spend a week while DD is on vacation.

I hope Paisley behaves for you!

Good Morning Quackers :)

I love the baby ducks, PollyannaMom, so cute! Thank you for sharing :)

Have fun with Paisley, Carol. Enjoy some doggie time :dog2:

I hope it is cooler out there for all of you in the heat :sunny:

Lynn, I'm glad Mr. L is resting. Now it is YOUR turn to do the same! Love your Saturday photo, thank you always for welcoming us back here each new day with a cute picture :)

I was able to order through the library both Miracles from Heaven and Miracle of the Cards yesterday. They should come in this next week. I'll share how I like them. Definitely a great reminder that the library does have DVD's! 📀

Wishing all of you a great weekend!

Good morning all. Up early today, someone is coming over to trim the dogs nails. Any local groomers are booked way out so I found someone mobile to come and just trim their nails. We were supposed to be going to a work mixer for DHs company later today but he and DD decided to leave early on their road and will head off after she gets he from work. Not sure what I'll do with myself tonight.... We ended up eating take out burgers last night after posting I was wanting to eat better :sad2: and ending up feeling so yucky from the food, so that was my karma...lol This week I can just eat a variety of salads(taco salad, salad with chicken....salmon, etc....I love that but the family gets tired of it.

And in the process of posting, the nail lady has come and gone and my pups did great. I always get nervous when they have to do something they haven't had done before. Buddy has been groomed but not at home and he's such a scardy cat with us. LOL Bingo has never had his nails trimmed because he was so active he wore them down himself but he hasn't been as active as he used to be since he was sick back in April.

I just went to look at the 'conspiracy' thread that Bianca and Bernard posted on..and the thread has disappeared?
I'm not surprised.
It was getting a bit...not sure argumentative is the rIght word to use. But I'm not surprised it didn't last.
It seemed to be going OK with people sticking to the question but around B&Bs posts, it looked like it was taking a turn. :sad2:

*sigh* I miss when conspiracy theories were just about UFOs and aliens. :rotfl:

I probably helped make it take that turn. Oops. :o

No points this time, which, frankly, surprises me. I usually get 20 every six months or so, for being 'sarcastic' or 'talking about things that can only be talked about if related to travel to Disney'. Guess the whole thread just poofing is good enough, lol.

I made green chile chicken and roasted veg for lunch. Tonight we are having crab cakes and leftovers from lunch. Tomorrow is 'Philly' burgers (IDK what those are, but they were at Fresh Market, and I said why not?). I think I might make a cake or some banana caramel bread this weekend; I'm feeling like baking. Ooo, or maybe I'll do pasta Monday, and start a batch of bread tomorrow too.

Think I might take a nap. It's really gray out; some rain and a bit of thunder. Fred's supposed roll past us on the far side. Just have to keep an eye out for Grace.

Glad you escaped with no points and didn't have to change your name!

When you have time,,share your recipe for banana caramel bread, pretty please..sounds good!

Sun still out here, but black clouds on the horizon. Temp is 82. Just got out of a nice hot tub, did my hair, etc..going to take a nap while hubby is napping. Dinner is going to be Irish Garlic Sausages, mac and cheese and fresh corn.

Happy Saturday. I had a haircut this morning and feel so much better. I always enjoy talking with my hairdresser. Since I have been seeing her for almost 10 years we are friends at this point. DH is at a memorial service for a coworker who passed last December. I don't like the reason for having some alone time but I will take advantage of it. I did some work work, dusting, walk aerobics, and now chilling out.

We watched younger DS's 3 kids yesterday afternoon for a few hours. He was working upstairs while DDIL went away with friends for the weekend. It is nice that she gets a break now and then. The littlest one is such a character. When she realized her brother and sister had chicken tenders she said, Hey, I want some chicken too! We read books, played games, and chased them around for awhile My hip was feeling better but not after bending down to pick up games, change the little one, and just general lifting and bending. It is a bit better this afternoon after my exercise. The kiddies are so sweet and mostly well behaved for a 6, 4, and 2 year old. Soon we will all be in NH and we can chase around 5 grandkiddies. Actually their parents can chase them. I will just enjoy them.

It is still hot here but I think it is going to be better tomorrow. I haven't been outside to walk since we were at Canobie on Wednesday as it has just been too hot. I have been doing walk aerobics and yoga. I hope to get out and around the neighborhood tomorrow.

Have a great day!

Good Afternoon :)

Hooray for your dogs doing so well, AuntieMe3. I have heard of mobile pet groomers but you are the first person I know who has used such a service. Enjoy your solitude!

B&B, my dad might like that bread! He likes salted caramel ice cream anyway.

Hug, Snowysmom, indeed you just enjoy your grandkids which is as it should be!

Biggest green section is up! Not taking a picture quite yet because we may redo a third small strip at the bottom that thanks to sticky mailing tape (we used instead of the green tape there so it would blend more in) it's not flush with the wall. Dad did a great job which I so appreciate. I got to help, too, which made me happy. Now, I just need some more things to put up, preferably bigger to make it easier to decide where smaller should go. Fun to think about, especially in an extra way now, post pandemic memories I'd love to experience with dad, all of you at Dad, and other friends.

I always miss the fun stuff! 😄 I actually began reading that thread but left it, it was just too much drama for me.

Our game night group met last night at our house. We cooked hamburgers and provided chips and salsa (one was peach salsa, was like eating candy, was so good!). The other two couples brought a fruit salad and a cherry cream cheese pie. Our fourth couple who was supposed to bring potato salad didn't show, they got the date mixed up. Don't know why since we talked about it three different times this week. We'll attribute it to Covid memory since the wife of the couple had Covid in January and she hasn't been the same since. We played one game of Left, Right, Center, had our dessert and then DS and fiance showed up. Everyone had to troop out to see his new Ford Bronco. They left and then everyone else decided to leave instead of playing another game. It was a very laid back evening, nice for a change.

Slept in this morning. Headed to the Farmers Market for some produce. It was hot but not too bad. A front was moving through. Picked up tomatoes, strawberries and watermelon. DD treated me to Chick Fil A for lunch.

A little update on DD's friend Mike. He did finally get moved to rehab. There they found out that he has an infection in the incision on his neck. Staff at the hospital where he was originally did not do proper wound care. He went into Emergency ICU yesterday because he has been running a fever and they can't figure out why. On the good side, all his labs are looking good.

Had a good little rain shower this afternoon, lasted a couple of hours. It's 79 outside and we're looking at 80 degree weather for the first couple of days in the coming week. Unusual for August.

Dinner tonight was brisket, fried potatoes/onion, air fried yellow squash, zucchini and brussel sprouts. There's a booth at the Farmers Market that sells one pound vacuum sealed brisket and it's so good.

Good morning..had to hunt to find the thread..all the way down to the bottom of page 1. I woke up with an awful headache, then proceeded to spill birdseed all over the kitchen floor. Nothing like vacuuming at 5 am. 71 and muggy out, going to a high of 77. I may try to weedwack and mow the high spots today, or I might not. Lawn looks so bad now I don't think anything is going to help it. Got 2 more hours sleep, and I am still tired, I can feel myself burning out,,and there isn't much I can do about it. I look at all the stuff that has to be done inside the house, outside the house, etc..and its just daunting to me. He is bored sitting too much, can't stand or walk much, is tired of sleeping in the chair. He wants to sleep in our bed, so hopefully OT and PT will start to work on that this week. I knew this would be hard, but didn't anticipate it being quite this difficult :(

No other plans for the day. Just wanted to say hello, will be back later to check in.

Have a great Sunday!

Good morning to all. Hoping everyone is enjoying their week-end.
I am in much denial about school starting in a week. My kids are also not all that excited. Homework, late nights, traveling for activities, and the overall frenzy of what the school year brings, causes me to have a bit of anxiety. Once we get back "at it" for a few weeks, I'm sure things will be fine. It's just the initial "plunge" back into it that is so stressful...at least for me.
Leftovers here for lunch today. We had a family birthday celebration last night and were lucky enough to score some food to bring home. I think I've mentioned before that I'm not the best at using leftovers up, or having leftovers to even use. So, this is a nice little treat. For those who don't want the left overs, there is lunch meat for sandwiches or cereal. I know you are all just so jealous that I'm not your regular meal "cook". :rotfl2:
Supposed to be fairly nice weather today and then the heat starts to creep up again, but I don't think the humidity or temps are supposed to be near as bad as they were last week.
Nothing much else to report. I am still struggling with our new minister and have had a hard time going back. I know I need to give him more of a chance.
Take Care Quackers.

I made sure hubby was all set inside..and went out and spent an hour outside. Mowed the lawn, and weedwacked, just so I could do that and think about nothing else. It helped me relax a little. Sister in law just messaged me that if I need her for anything to just call. She is always so willing. The only issue is..she drives hubby nuts (even though she's his 'baby' sister. Her and our niece just talk nonstop and as they talk their voices get louder and louder and he just can't take that right now. He asked me to make him a cup of coffee so he could stay awake..by the time the keurig finished making it (maybe a whole 3 min) and I brought it in to the living room, he was sound asleep..lol

Waiting for our foster pup to be picked up...first it was 1PM, then 2PM, then 4:30...it would seem shore traffic is NUTS this afternoon and these poor folks are sitting in it on their way here! 4:30 crashes dangerously into cocktail hour so we will see how that goes😬
Oh, and I finally ordered a freezer this afternoon. It will be here in about a month- that works for us since we aren't in a hurry for it. Shopped everywhere and ended up buying it from Sears. I haven't set foot in a Sears in years & years & years.

Dinner? a bit of freezer roulette. Some scallops, two chicken cutlets and 1/4 bag of fries accompanied by a bag of salad that is starting to look it's age.
