Continuing kitty extra prayers dear Pollyannamom.

Lynn, please take good care and stay cool!

Good afternoon friends. Quiet around here which is lovely. Dad shared with me on Monday that one reason I was named Mona was because I was born on a Monday. What day of the week were you born? To anyone who is comfortable sharing, do you know why you were given your name or if you prefer why, you chose your child's or even pet's name? I just looked and my dad was born on a Friday. Grandpa Sam on a Thursday way back in 1917 and Grandma Dolores on a Friday in 1918. Our dog Champ was also born on a Friday in 1989. Just interesting to think about :)

Happy rest of Wednesday to all:grouphug:
I had to look it up, I was born on a Friday…and I remember Mom mentioning there was snow on the ground.

I am catching up reading here. We are in Mount Rainier NP.

However, getting here wasn’t easy.
Plane supposed to leave Philly at 7:10 PM Tuesday ….
7:30, our crew arrives at our gate.
8:20, leave gate..but not to runway…storms in the way, so new route is being found.
8:45 we return to gate medical emergency, someone evacuated from plane.
9:15… off runway…a new route seems likely back to gate, to get more fuel, new route longer!
10:15, still waiting off runway, and it was announced we could leave….long line to takeoff.
11:15…plane descending, it’s announced we will be going to Columbus OH. WE LAND IN COLUMBUS AMID FIRE TRUCKS AND EMERGENCY VEHICLES!
11:45…arriving at gate in Columbus…
(Maybe fuel leak, but definitely maintenance Issues.
3 AM….arrive at hotel paid for by American.

Wednesday
11:30 plane scheduled to leave Columbus. However, after leaving gate, it is decided that passengers needed to be shifted because of imbalance!
12:30…finally in air!! It was the rockiest plane ride in about 5 areas that I have ever been on.

7 PM…Finally arriving at Mount Rainier NP!

Today, in one of the road overlooks we actually ran into a couple who were on our plane from PHL, plus they are on the cruise we will be on tomorrow. With my walker, I guess I am easy recognizable!

That’s my story!
It is beautiful here!

Bobbiwoz Glad you made it to Mt. Rainier safely after so many flight issues. Love your pictures. Chris and I saw Mt. Rainier from a distance when leaving Seattle on our Alaska cruise. So magnificent. Have fun.

Judique Hotel rooms are getting out of hand price wise but they can get it. I hope you have a nice trip with everyone.

Things are definitely getting higher in price. I can't even imagine how some people are able to get by these days. Groceries for just one person are ridiculous and I do not buy top brands or alot of meat.

Good morning. It is 71 here now and heading up around 90. The kids were very good yesterday while with me. They played on their computers while I worked. I made some brownies for them and made them take breaks. I told them they needed to go to the bathroom, wash their hands, and blink their eyes. I bribed them with a tootsie pop. Kenny's arbitration went probably as well as it could for now. The arbitrator talked with the attorneys and with Kenny and soon to be ex with their attorneys. He collected all the paperwork and documents, heard what they wanted. They were supposed to go back next week after he had time to look over everything. He told them he needs more time as there is alot of look at and think about. So, it looks like it will be a few weeks. I am kind of glad because then Kenny can just enjoy the cruise and not worry about things he can't control right now. Also, I hope it means that this arbitrator is taking things very seriously and wants the best for all.

Off to another busy work day. Have a good day.

Sounds like you had a perfectly normal flight as per the 'new' service available from air carriers. This is off course said, tongue in cheek.

I'm so sorry you've had such a rocky start and I hope your next flights home are much more efficient and comfortable.

Yes, and I am fortunate that I can still find ways to enjoy what I'm used to. If it weren't for DVC I'd be an offsite Disney visitor also. As it is, in my upcoming February trip, I'll have a week offsite after BWV with family.

It's already 78 degrees here at 7:10am. Going up to 98 with 50% chance of storms. They are now saying we had a lower category tornado on Wednesday. I poo poohed that but then read up on the EF categories and I think, yes, it probably was. It was a short lived, high wind, low visibility (looking out my kitchen windows a rain fog made it difficult to see my back yard), and the damage was sort of contained to a smaller area, mostly trees with minor roof damage to a few homes - loss of shingles. Half a mile away there were no signs of the debris near our homes. The other thing that bothers me was that we had no immediate notification of the storm. Usually the tv is blaring the National Weather Service warning, and nada. There was no siren either which is close enough from the fire station for us to hear.

I should know anyway as I'll always remember one from when I first came here that circled a single house, almost as if it was targeted, destroyed a van in the front yard and lopped off 4 trees on each corner of the home, meanwhile no damage to the home. It was just weird. And we've had straight-line winds go down our street knocking trees out front but perfectly calm in the back yard.

I'm so sorry Kenny has to go through this. I've been extremely fortunate during my past divorce and child custody events which were long ago. Hopefully a mutually beneficial settlement is reached. Also, in our experience, our children were 5 and 10yo and by age 15 to 16 neither wanted long stays away from their primary home, so the long summer visit always got cut short. On the flip side, I was happy that they could maintain a relationship with their father and my in laws. There were lots of rocky parts, but overall it was peaceful. I wish that for your family. All of a sudden they are grown up and leading their own lives.

Hope your work today goes smoothly.

Happy Friday to all🐥:grouphug:I watched three episodes of a super sweet new (I think) TV Show called Shadrach. It's about faith and family in a small GA town including their horse Shadrach and his goat friend Kevin. I watched via Pure Flix. I believe the episodes are on Prime, too. So refreshing to see a family show of faith that includes awesome grandparents. I think all of dear you would enjoy the stories.

Wishing each of you a great day and weekend ahead. I will check back later.

Happy Friday! I just realized I never checked in. Have been busy trying to pack. We're hot and sunny again, going to 98, chance of storms. I wish the weather would be cooler in CO, but they're stuck in the same heat wave for now. It's supposed to cool down by the middle of the week, so fingers crossed.

Have things to do, so have to get moving.
Have a nice day

Lynn I hope you have a nice trip and a fun time with your friend.

Good morning. It is 74 now with temps heading to 90 again. I did manage to get walks in yesterday even with temps around 90. I went to what I call the dog park in Kenny's town where there is some shade for walking. Today I am going to Jeff's for a visit. Aimee is away for the weekend so he is busy with the kids. I am looking forward to having time with just them as the past few times have been at a birthday party or the museum. I want to actually play games with them. I am getting a bit anxious about the cruise and I am not sure why. It may be that Chris and I did this cruise twice and he loved cruising. I am glad Kenny and family are coming and we have adjoining cabins. He has made the reservations for the caves and we both are on the same page about what else to do that day. I am letting him make the plans other than the 4 things I have asked for. It is hard for me to let go and I think that is where some anxiety is coming from. But, let go I must! Strange to say but I am looking forward to seeing the library on the ship. I always visit the library on a sea day. While they go to the pool I am going to look for books!

Have a good Saturday.

Big :grouphug:dear Snowysmom. I'm so proud of you. Your grandkids are truly blessed to have you in their lives and so are we! Being still, not rushing here and there, truly being present with those we love is such a blessing. I wish you a truly safe and fun trip.

Dazed and Kirby, thinking extra of both of you along with AuntieMe3.

Happy Saturday to all.

Unfortunately Jeff just called and said he has a cold and 2 of the kids seem sick too. He does not want me to get sick for the cruise. So I will not be seeing them this weekend and not until the last weekend of the month due to everyone's schedule. I feel fine except for my usual allergies which are the worst in Aug and Sept. Well, off to the lake to walk. And more housework to do when I get back. Now I can wash my wood floors. Lucky me!

Good Saturday morning. This heat is doing me in. Going to be hot again today, again they say chance of storms, right about now, but the sky is blue with white clouds and there's no sign of rain.

I just watered everything again, picked more tomato's. I never thought I'd say I was tired of eating tomato's, but I've reached that point.

I've stripped the bed, cleaned all the ceiling fans, and washed the kitchen and bathroom floors. That's going to have to do it until I come home. Summer will clean up any cat 'accident's. She knows where everything is. She gave up on trying to go to the beach this weekend. Even 2 nights in a motel would cost her almost $450. She shouldn't be spending that kind of money when they have bills that need to be paid.

Going to do a load of laundry and try to decide what to pack. I'm bound and determined that I'm not going to take more than I need.

Yet more stupidity on my local Walmart. I know they had the 40 lb boxes of litter, 2 entire shelves full. So yesterday I ordered 2 boxes to be delivered from the store. Instead I get 2 emails from Fed Ex, that they will be delivered today. Why on earth would they pay Fed Ex to ship something that has been delivered by someone from the store every other time? They can't explain it to me. I give up trying to figure them out.

Have a nice day, stay cool if you're in the heatwave.

Good morning. I hope everyone is doing well. It is dreary right now but it is supposed to be sunny later and in the 80s. I have been to Market Basket for a few items, got some coffee, and took a walk. The air is so humid and heavy right now. I plan to vacuum out the car and wash the inside of the windshield again. I will work a bit and go to the lake. I have some brownies I made to bring to Jeff's but now I am detouring them to Kenny. I am not going to eat them so I want someone to instead of throwing them out. I will finalize what to bring on the cruise and put things aside for final packing. I keep moving things around.

Have a good Sunday.

Snowysmom, prayers Jeff and kids are feeling better today. Please take care and be careful especially in humidity not to overdo it.

Sunday good morning hug to all,

I look forward to watching online worship later. Dad will be going to Pavilions. I watched another smaller (only 2 seasons with I believe 9 total episodes) show called Homeschooled about an older sister and her 5 school age siblings in Ohio. I wonder if Covid may have been the end of this show because the last two episodes seemed to be near the beginning of the pandemic. I enjoyed them. I am hoping Shadrach the family farm series comes back. Happy watching to all :)

Good muggy morning. It's cloudy, but they aren't calling for rain, just mid 90's again. I can water 2-3 times a day and everything is still bone dry hours later. It will probably rain while I'm gone. I'd love it if I came home and saw a little bit of green grass again.

I'm just about packed. A few odds and ends to put in at the last minute. Everything is ready for Summer to watch the cats. They have plenty of canned food, dry food, and litter.
Have to figure out something for dinner tonight. Maybe just a Marie Callender frozen dinner, since I used up all the leftovers and cleaned out the fridge after dinner last night.

Have a nice Sunday

Have a great trip Lynn. I hope you come back to green grass again.

Flyingdumbo127 Glad you are finding some nice shows to watch.

Jeff is feeling better today. Cough medicine works wonders. The kids are good too. And Aimee will be back home which will be nice.
