Lynn I hope you are feeling better.

Good morning. It is again a dreary morning with rain coming in today. The temps will be in the 70s which I like. The museum was fun yesterday. I think the kids like having lunch the best of all. Jeff had to leave early because Sam was acting like a 2 year old toddler who wants things his way. He is very definitely strong willed. I felt bad because Ellie was upset at leaving but I told her that since they have a pass, it is easy for them to come back soon. I got back and saw an email from someone in the complex about bear sightings. We have black bear in the neighborhood. I figure he is looking for pic-a-nic baskets. Jeff asked me if the bear was seen wearing a hat and tie. It made me think of Chris as he always loved to do Yogi bear and Boo Boo impressions. I would love to feed the birds but I know the feeders only attract bears. The birds around here seem to do very well with all the woods and plants. There is a bird feeder 2 condos over so I wonder if the bear has found it yet.

I did manage to get my carry on down to a backpack instead of a weekender bag. I am obsessed with trying to pack lighter than I usually do but have all I need. I figure if my suitcase is heavy it doesn't matter as we are not flying. Kenny made sure all the luggage will fit in the car and it does. I can have my backpack on my lap if necessary. And my backpack will be useful for going to the beach and around the island.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Good morning. Welcome to another week of heat. I don't think it's ever going to end. Yes, I know in winter we'll be complaining about the cold, but I'd take another day or 2 of it right about now.

We had a huge black bear pass through the yard a few years ago. I was in the kitchen when I saw a big shadow passing the window. I looked out and the bear was about 2 feet from the house. There used to be a catering company across the street, who had a big job and left all their trash bags piled outside the bldg. The bear walked through our back yard, then down through the side, down the bank, across the road, and ripped open all of the bags. Fortunately the business never did that again after they saw the mess they had to clean up.

Everything is watered, tomato's picked and doled out to neighbors. Kept come for SIL and Summer to come and get. Not sure what I'm going to do today, but I'll find something

Have a nice last Monday of July

There is a bear around here somewhere, too! I keep seeing posts about it. Hope we never meet up with it! The Yogi reference made me laugh, Snowysmom.

Over the weekend I woke up at dawn one morning and saw a doe in our yard. How cute! Ran and got my camera. (Never got a pic as it had moved when I came back.) I’ve seen her around the neighborhood during the day quite a bit over the past few months. Anyway, later, when we went out, we realized she’d eaten our hosta in the garden we’d planted out front. There is a bird feeder there so maybe that’s what attracted her, idk. But a little sad that my hosta is stems now, lol. I can see why people think some of the wildlife can be nuisances when stuff like this happens. But they’ll grow again next year. And they sort of fit in now with the rest of our plants. :lmao:

Toto was eating something in the yard on Friday. DS went over to see what it was and picked it up, saying it had a spine! 😳 We figure it must’ve been a bunny or something. 😟 Gross. No kisses from Toto after that! Dogs can be so nasty sometimes! And to think he often turns his nose up when I offer him a human leftover!

I took a picture of some tomatoes we got in our garden. There were just a few, but they were healthy. Don’t know where that picture went. May make a caprese salad today using those and some tomatoes I bought. I know we’re grilling chicken we’ve had marinating in Italian dressing tonight, and corn on the cob, and maybe mashed potatoes or mushroom risotto. I also bought some more peppers and eggs, will probably do those tomorrow. Bought some small scala rolls to go with them.

Dinner out with our friends was fun Saturday night. There was a long wait but they set up tables for drinks outside so we got to hang out comfortably and chatted for a while, which is really what we wanted to do anyway! (Normally we would’ve grilled at home but DH had put in long hours last week and an extra day so I knew he was tired and didn’t really want to cook.) They gave us a 5x7 group picture from the wedding and I was able to pick up a nice frame for it yesterday. Will frame that this afternoon and put it in a special place.

I saw this story about one person who’d gotten sick from the deli meat. Usually the DPH in the state pushes people to get a lawyer so they can use discovery to force businesses to give them info that they wouldn’t otherwise give, which is probably how they got some of the information they did. That could’ve saved lives. Poor lady. Boar’s Head might never fully recover from this, either.

I hope everyone enjoys their Monday! 🐥

MIL had two fawns in her yard and got a lucky pic that she showed me when I was over the other day. They were so cute!!

Good morning. It is again dreary with the sun coming out later. Temps will be in the 80s. Yesterday was a quiet day. I worked and then went to the gym to do the treadmill. It was rainy and drizzling here. I have been doing some research for the cruise just to figure our transportation options on Bermuda. Chris and I did shore excursions but Kenny wants to be free range taking the ferry and taxis or buses. I am letting him take the lead.

Have a good day.

Good morning. They say we are going to have 80% chance of storms starting in about 45 minutes, but right now the sun is out and the sky is blue. Doesn't look like any sign of rain to me. Temp will only be 84 today.

@Snowysmom -let Kenny take the lead. You just relax and enjoy yourself.

I opened Chrome this morning and nothing wanted to work. I got some weird 'not enough memory to load this application'. There's plenty of computer memory. Then it opened but nothing wanted to work right. I finally got everything to load and open right, but that was weird. Every time that happens, it's usually an issue with either Chrome or Bing.

Walmart is trying to get my SIL to settle her accident with the handicap cart thing breaking and dumping her on the floor quickly. I told her not to settle anything. She hasn't gotten any of the bills from the ambulance or the hospitals yet. They're just trying to cover their butts, not hers. I told her she might want to check with her lawyer and show him all the documents Walmart sent her wanting to sign before she even thinks about it.
Have a good day

Cool!

I'm on a mission to learn to be a lighter packer, and am trying to get myself to being a carry-on person. So far I've done it for a 3 night trip, but that's it! I know folks do it for cruises and longer trips but I'm not sure how!
saw a doe in our yard.
We have a doe with twins, we've been enjoying watching them along with the others.
I haven't been to Bermuda in forever- have a wonderful time!

I'm hoping we get some of that rain, it's that bright cloudy out that can go either way at the moment. Going to go home for lunch and take the laundry off the line in case it does rain. Maybe I should leave it up and temp the rain gods into getting my laundry wet! If that worked I do it, we could sure use it!

Good day everyone. Hope all is well. Not a whole lot going on with us, going to a little hen to-do on Friday evening that my future DIL's sister has put together for her (she & eldest eloping at end of August). Next weekend we are taking off for a little 36 hours of simple R&R. Were going to head to Adamstown, PA are but I think we may just go back to the Gettysburg area. We used to go up there a lot, but haven't been for years so it will be a nice little get away. We will walk a lot of the battlefields and cemetery and do a bit of antiquing. No rigid plans, just going to play it by ear.
Pool is done! And it is lovely! Our sidewalk guy (decided not to bother doing that ourselves) will be pouring all the patio and sidewalk areas around the pool in the next few weeks. As we were floating around the other day I told my husband that this was it, I am not doing without a pool in our next house  , luckily he agreed haha!
Garden is starting to wane a bit, some of the squash vines have started to die back. On the other hand my late planted sunflowers are just starting to do their thing, and we are thrilled with our experimental pumpkin patch. We also did a pollinator patch in a area we always found bothersome to mow/weedwack and that has done so well I'm eyeing up other areas of the usually mowed law areas to plant in wildflowers next year.
Well, I've got to get some stuff out the door and to the UPS store, have a good afternoon everyone.

Worked on some flea market posters this morning and now I'm outside with "kitty 2".

She actually has an appointment tomorrow for an echocardiogram to see if she's a candidate for anesthesia to do something about the little tumor on her lip/nose. (They couldn't tell from the needle aspiration whether it is cancerous or benign.) It's been a long process, but she's being brave. The worst part tomorrow will be the drive there and back, because it's quite a bit farther than our regular vet. (But they had a cancellation and could get us in months sooner than the closest specialist.)

"Kitty 1" had her recheck yesterday at our regular vet's office, and the UTI is gone. 😎 She also gained a few ounces, which is good for her.

This afternoon, I plan to go to the Xfinity store to see what's up with my email. They sent us a notice to change our password because we'd used it too long. We did that (on the main site, not through the notice, just in case it was a scam) and it works for the cable bill and the main email address that I usually access from the PC, but not for the secondary email address that I usually access on my phone. I haven't been receiving emails on it and can't send them out either. Hopefully they can get it fixed for me.

@Snowysmom and @easyas123, I hope the trips are wonderful!

Hug, Pollyannamom. Thank you for sharing a positive customer service story! People really are good and helpful at heart.

Easyas, have a wonderful and safe trip, my friend.

Lynn, I'm just so grateful your SIL is okay, what a horrible thing to have happened! :(

My email is fixed!!! People complain about Xfinity, but I had no wait, the guy was sooooo nice and patient, and I left there with my email working on both devices. :)
You're lucky. My friend in CO had Infinity and she had nothing but problems with her service with them. They had issues with their phones, their internet, and their cable. They finally switched to AT&T and haven't had any issues since.

PollyannaMom Glad everything worked out with Xfinity. We had them at my old house and they were generally good. I still have the email. I find in the stores they are very helpful. I have Spectrum now which is generally good too.

Good Morning. It is cloudy here and will be for most of the day. Temps again going into the 80s. I have Kenny's kids tomorrow while he does some work and then has the divorce arbitration meeting. They will be on their computers while I work and then I have a couple of lego sets for them, books, and we can make brownies. They will want to stay on their computers. LOL! My phone is getting wonky as it is almost 3 years old. I plan to get a new phone in Sept and may go to an iPhone. Jeff told me I am going to the dark side. Chris would agree as he did not like Apple. Kenny just got one, my DIL has one, and other people I know and they like them alot. I will give it a try as I want a smaller phone that is easier to use. and may actually last longer than 3 years.

Off to work. Have a good day.

:hug:Snowysmom, get a phone that feels comfortable to you my friend. I sure hear you on longevity. My current Smartphone is about a year or so old and has had issue from the beginning. There's just nothing really we can afford on our same prepaid plan which we like at the moment. I do know eventually it needs to be replaced. I wish technology were simpler and of course not so prominent. Always prayers for you, you know that and extra right now your precious grandkids.

Happy Wednesday to all with love. I'll check back in later.
