@PollyannaMom :grouphug: I hope your toothache gets better. I have the same issue due to sinus and cold related issues. It is annoying for sure. Nice dryer.

@flyingdumbo127 Glad you had a nice Valentine's day with some mail surprises.

Good morning. Cold start, but temps going up to the upper 40s. Weird weather for February. It is nice walking weather. The grandkids enjoyed their Valentine parties at school. Ellie had been looking forward to her party for days.

I ended up going to the condo office again yesterday to try to get the needed paperwork for the close. Someone else was working in the office who was actually helpful. I think she may be a bit higher in the management chain. She gave me her direct phone number to give to my attorney. He did try to call all day with no answer. So I called her later in the day to ask her to please call my attorney back. She took his number. She said to tell him to call her this morning and she will try to call him. He keeps asking me if she will be able to get the needed info. I am paying him to get the needed info and to be honest, I really should not have to be doing this but I am trying to be helpful since I am right here at the complex. I feel like I have been going above and beyond. The idea is that he talks with her to tell her exactly what he needs for the closing. This way he will have what he needs. I am waiting for things to go better in life in general. I truly do not need all these stressful things in my life. I have enough stress and anxiety just getting through the day. But, in choosing to move, I have invited more stress into my life.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Good morning! Cats and dog fed and pampered. Went out for a bit - it's 49 going up to 68. But it may rain this morning a bit. Yesterday it was supposed to be rain free and in the 60ties today so I shopped yesterday and planned yard work for today. There are more leaves on the ground in the far back part of my yard and I want to partially fill a few bags and store them in my greenhouse until organics collection days. I like to do this so that when I dump in my kitchen organics, it doesn't dirty up my collection bin.

May have to get a plumber as one bathroom sink doesn't want to drain or is doing it extremely slowly. I might get out my big plumber's wrench and undo the trap myself but don't want to deal with a mess. We will see. edit: motivation for not calling plumber - not having strangers in my house and playing the 'waiting' game.

Neighbor said he wants to clean my gutters. Not sure when he plans on it but maybe it will be today since it will be so much warmer later on.

I've also got to get my taxes done. Get it out of the way before I figure out how to lose paperwork, etc. Tomorrow is a rainy day so maybe I'll plan it for tomorrow.

I'm typing on my older laptop because I don't yet love the newer one I bought. New one is almost identical in specs, just bigger and more features. The part I don't love is that it is bigger. Just feels so awkward! Also Microsoft tricked me into adding a pin as sign on. Now I'm wanting to reverse that. It also has the finger print sign on but again, I don't keep anything on these machines that require tight security. Anyway, I have 90 days to return and it probably won't go back as the 'size' is something I should be able to overcome. Especially since googling tells me that a new one in the 13.3 size with same or similar specs will be $1600-$1800, if I stay with HP.

I've also been looking online for a replacement screen for the old one. There is one available on a laptop for sale in Germantown, Md, but the guy is taking bids now at $229, with a buy it now at $429. That's a 7 year old laptop! It would have cost $999 (costco) new. The HP site does not offer the screen. The computer repair guy would charge a minimum of $85 and maybe more. There are a couple of other options on Ebay at $450 and $500. These appear to be similar but there may be subtle differences so I wouldn't take chances, since buying includes dismantling and possibly ruining the 'working' machines. At that point might as well cough up the $16 to $1800 to get what I want.

The new 15.6 I bought was $1200. So, I need to just keep it and get used to it, or go to a lesser model that's small.

Meanwhile I'm also having phone angst. I'm a Samsung user and the new models are out this week. There is NOTHING wrong with my 3 yo S10+ phone. Not even a scratch. Guess who has been studying the new models every day? I think I have a 'want' problem. I am fortunate in that I can afford what I want. But I also have a gene that insists I don't 'need' and should not be wasteful. What part of me will win?

 I'm exactly the opposite. I cling to my old phone as long as possible because I hate getting used to a new one!

I'm right there with you, and I've only had my S20 since December. I wish they would have told me a newer one was coming out, I might have waited. For now I'm just watching, and waiting.

Happy Hump Day!🐫

Supposed to be in the 70's today and rain later tonight. I didn't even wear a coat into work this morning, just a sweater.

Didn't really do anything yesterday after work. It was really windy out so I didn't want to go for a walk. I need to get out back and pick up the bird feeder that blew down last week during the wind storm we had. Didn't even think to take that out of the tree before the wind came 🌬️.

Going out to dinner with a couple of friends tonight after work. Should be fun :hyper2:. Recorded FBI-Most Wanted last night so I'll watch that before I have to leave for dinner. Catching up on my YouTube people today at lunch and yesterday at lunch I watched to new episode of 1923.

That's it for me, I need to run over to the cafeteria and grab a cup of carrots & celery to eat with my lunch. If I wait until lunch, they'll probably be gone. Have a great day!

Good morning--welcome to Summertime! We are already mid 50's and heading for 78. Calling for rain tomorrow.

Don's Dr finally called back a little while ago. As I suspected, he said it's probably the increase in the Aldactone, maybe in combination with the Trulicity. He's been taking the Trulicity for almost a year with no issues, and he hasn't gotten the increased one yet, so I'm doubting it's that one. He told him to cut the Aldactone back to what it was, stop the Magnesium Oxide and not take Trulicty for a couple of weeks to see if that helps. Told him to stay hydrated, yeah I didn't have to be a cardiologist to figure that one out myself. So that took them 4 days to get back to him about? That was a 5 minute conversation which could have been done last Friday when he first called.

@PollyannaMom- Nice looking dryer. I'm with you, I only wants simple knobs, none of that computer stuff. My sister in law has a Samsung one, and she's had nothing but problems since she got it.

Going shopping in a bit. Too nice to stay inside, so SIL asked me to go out with them. I made sure he has Gatorade, water, his cell phone, and the house phone, just in case.

Have a nice morning.

Happy Wednesday everyone from a very chilly LA,

My phone says right now it is only 47! For here that really is ☃️weather. For me, it is, anyway! Extra grateful to have my nightshirt! Tomorrow, I am keeping in much prayer being able to wave/say a very quick to my 99-year-old friend Sue! I have a dentist appointment early in the morning right near where Sue lives. With anyone else, I would probably wait to do this until the weather gets a ton warmer. I don't want to do so with Sue especially after being so blessed to have gotten to tell Shirley I loved her a couple days before she died. Sue, thank God, in a voice mail message that I missed yesterday sounded as feisty as ever. I will call her a little later. It would mean so much to me to get to see her for a moment. We can drop off for her our Valentine heart shaped hugs small 🎈 along with some 🍪I will update on this later and tomorrow. I would, appreciate, dentist prayers as well. Thank you, dear friends.

:grouphug:PollyannaMom and prayers you are feeling better this morning! I am 💯with you📱and tech wise! As I have shared before, with most any product, extra with devices, I tend to prefer the original or older (both are usually simpler and work just fine) version to the newer.

:hug:with always prayers of extra🕊️to you Snowysmom! Take a breath, my friend, all will work out! One step at a time. Many prayers that as it gets closer to the end of the month everything falls much more into place moving wise! How fun that the kiddos got to have Valentine parties at school. I hope they had a great time.

Judique, stay dry☂️and I hope you do get to liking your new 💻:dogdance::ccat:are very blessed to have your loving care!

Lynn, ITA with your post! No way this should have taken 4 days! Many 🙏for Don and I'm truly so glad you will get to enjoy some nicer weather 🛍️with your SIL today to give you a break and change of scene.

Send me some of your :sunny:please Footballmouse! 70's sounds so nice. Enjoy it for me! The wind, I can do without it! It was very windy here yesterday and early this morning as well. please stay warm and safe, enjoy your 📺shows.

I will check back in later. Wishing all of you a great day.

Afternoon thread save from next to the last on the page which will never do!

Very happy to hear that you're feeling better, PollyannaMom:hug:

I'm still cold but all is good. In fact, I got to talk with Sue this morning and God willing, I will get to wave/say hi to her briefly tomorrow. I'm so thankful indeed. Plus, dad, can wish her a Good Morning, too. In a little bit I'll wish another church friend a Happy 97th Birthday.

We're waiting on Amazon and Mail. We will also finish watching yesterday's Valentine's Day themed Price is Right. The special theming always makes watching the show more fun. Quiet afternoon otherwise. Wishing all of you a wonderful rest of the day.

This is usually when they come out. DD just got one late Dec or early January, but hers died. She got the z flip 4 which is the latest in that line so far. She paid full price with the exception of a small discount I used to pay it off using a credit card with a perk on it. Now it can be had for about 1/2. It's not one I want. I'll stay Galaxy and do the S23+. Maybe. I'm going to drop by the store and hold them in my hand - soon. Almost happened today.

We got to 77 degrees. I wore shorts, a t-shirt, and sandals to go shopping. I enjoyed the weather. Got grocery shopping and errands done, stopped and brought home a chocolate milkshake for Don, and then went for a long walk. Rain moving in shortly. Off to figure out something for dinner.

Stay warm Mona, that's cold for you guys!

Have a nice evening all

Came back quickly and wow to 77, Lynn, how lovely:sunny:I hope you enjoyed the extra warmth, my friend. I'm wearing my night shirt right now and snowman couch blanket on my lap. Prayers the milkshake tasted good to Don and that the extra nourishment did him a whole lot of good!

Wishing all of you a good evening. Be cozy, friends.

We got to 77 degrees
Ohhhhh that sounds delightful. Glad you were able to get out and enjoy it. Highest it got here was 66-no complaints though! I think we are expecting about the same tomorrow, plus some of your rain.

We had BLT's for dinner this evening. We officially cut the cord today, after 20 years with DirecTV we are officially no longer subscribers as of Friday. I quite liked their service, but it was hard to pay the monthly bill knowing we could get the exact same line up of channels for less than half of what we were paying. So we have gone to YoutubeTV, and I can still get my local channels. I need my local news and PBS channel. We are figuring it out, it will take a bit to learn the ins & outs of it, but we will.

Lynn Wow! 77 degrees. Too warm for me even in the summer! LOL! But shorts and sandals would feel nice right around now. My sinuses have been acting up and I feel tired so trying to take it a bit easy. I wonder if allergies are starting early due to the warmer weather. But, most likely it is from the grandkids. A couple of them were sneezing and coughing last weekend.

Good morning. I go to the office today. I think the condo docs issue may be resolved. I finally got the person I hoped would help to call the attorney. He told them what he needed that she emailed it to him. Now we are waiting to see if the underwriter will accept the email. That comes today. I want a cut of the attorney fees. I spent alot of my time chasing down someone to help. I did find out the person buying the condo is very excited about it. I think she may know someone who lives here. I am glad she is looking forward to it. It is a good place for just the right person but I am not it.

I talked with the kids last night. I am going to Kenny's this weekend to drop off some stuff and have dinner with him. He works both days. Jeff may come by to replace a part in the shower handle. I am still trying to decide if I want him to do that to make sure the water issue is truly gone. I probably should before the closing while I still own the condo. I really wish more condos would come on the market where Kenny lives. This week has been quiet.

Have a good day.

@Snowysmom , so happy your condo is being bought by someone who truly wants it, and its wonderful that the issues are being resolved! You can move toward your happy resolution!

When morning temperatures are so near 50° I wonder if I should start feeding the fish, but it just seems too early. Could spring really be here so soon?

Happy Thursday!:earsgirl:

We were also in the mid-70's yesterday, it was so nice. This morning on the other hand...I woke up to a thunderstorm. Still a little warm but wow, is it raining ⛈️. Supposed to be like that all day and then tomorrow drop down to the 30's 🥶.

Had a nice dinner with my friends last night. Treated myself to a beer. This morning I splurged and bought the breakfast tacos from the cafe at work. I'll save my oatmeal for lunch.

Snowysmom - glad the condo paperwork is finally moving along.

That's about it, pretty boring. Have a great day.:earsboy:

I think the condo docs issue may be resolved
Excellent to hear this, you must be ready to move on and get settlement out of the way.
Could spring really be here so soon?
I noticed as I was driving around Delmarva earlier this week that a lot of the trees are starting to bud, there is a slight red sheen to the wood line. My Magnolia and Willow trees are starting to bud as well. I'm still holding out for some snow though :rotfl: but I think my chances of that are dwindling fast!

Good morning one & all. Sun is shining, or at least the sky is bright. Rain is coming later today. As I was walking into work thru the parking lot this morning I looked down and realized I walked out of the house with my slippers on :sad2::jumping1::sad2:, so here I sit, in my slippers hahah! I'll have to go home at some point and grab my work boots, can't exactly troop around a muddy jobsite this afternoon in slippers -

Good rainy morning. Calling for rain most of the day, thunderstorms tonight. Temps near 67. I don't think Spring is going to come this early, I'm still waiting for a snowstorm to surprise us. I noticed that my lilac bushes and maple trees have buds. Way too early. Everytime that happens, we get a bad frost and end up without may lilacs in spring. They are my favorite flowers of all.

@easyas123 --thanks for the laugh and picturing you going to work in slippers. I've done that once or twice, not realizing I forgot to change them before going out. At least you're comfortable!

I have a load of laundry in now. Going to clean the bathrooms and then find something else to do.

I'm going to call Dave tonight and see if he's home from FL yet so we can get this project moving. I told him we wanted it done before Spring when he gets busy working on jobs outdoors, so he needs to get moving!

Have a nice day

I can get my local and PBS channels with a small and very cheap antenna - (less than $50) that I bought years ago that can hang in my window. I keep a small 32 inch flatscreen in my living area (and I may move it to the kitchen) so that stuff can be streamed for the grands when they are here. Otherwise I have my bedroom tv, and DD has her upstairs tv. When they are not here I may play music videos through it or tune in the pbs or local stuff if I'm sitting there. Otherwise it's basic cable service through Xfinity, with high speed internet, DD needs that for work and play, plus our phones are Xfinity also. We are so home based that I pay for data by the gig with Xfinity. I'm still on the original $12 plan, and we've never exceeded 2 gigs. That's when I travel. At home it's wifi for both plus for daughter at her office.

So most phone bills are about $20ish and with 2 gigs $30ish. Buying the new phone 'by the month' would add $20.83.

When I paid for 3 phones with Verizon, the bill was always over $120. Then I had Virgin and it was $80ties. We also were paying MORE for Comcast at that time, as we had cable, internet and landlines. And for a bit we had Verizon landline as well as Verizon cells and cable through various providers. (When I had my roof done I was able to finally get the 'dish' of my roof. I hated that thing being up there and not removed when we changed providers.)

To another topic, I spent 5 hours at AAA garage yesterday plus an hour at home with the AAA battery truck. This was for my van which is not my regular driver and sits too long without being started.

The truck came, jumped the van and told me to take it to the garage to get the battery 'fully' charged. He said driving it for 30 minutes was good but that it wouldn't charge enough to keep it charged long term - say a week. If I didn't want to do this and didn't drive it in a day or so, it would be dead again. So I did it and since no appointment I had to wait my turn or wait for an appointment.

Getting frustrated with this. If it quickly goes dead in 3-4 days again, I will just go buy a different battery, because I'm starting to feel it's a battery quality issue.

I also have a recall on my Kia and I also have a service that it is time to schedule.

Plus my endoscopy exam has been pushed back until the end of the month.

If it's not one thing it's another.

Hope all are well and if anyone actually reads this venting post, thanks!
