Huge:grouphug:dear Dazed, thinking of you with extra prayers.

Absolutely cherish those you care for and love. Tell them that you do. Don't wait. Reminder to me to once again say a most heartfelt thank you to each of you. I absolutely thank God that He gifted us our Quacker family. Much love and appreciation to each of you. Sweet dteams, too. Stay warm!

Good evening. Just a quick hello before I head off to bed.

The new hard drive came back and this is going to be a lengthy project comparing what is missing to what I found on one hard drive and the memory cards to figure out what I have lost. I know Scotland with Jim is mostly gone as the Memory Card went bad, it happens. I may need to get an external CD drive to access all the pictures on CD's. I have learned my lesson, backup everything and back it up again. My mom was actually very nice and wished me well in getting what I can. My mom doesn't understand my photography but she does understand my love of it. When we went to Scotland in 2018 she wanted to take pictures out of the bus window. She had a "camera". It was a phone, a smart phone but still a phone, which I pointed out. She then brought out her camera that was smaller than the phone, and looked through a couple of pictures on the memory card. I asked her if it was the same card she used in 2008 when she went on a road trip with my dad. It was a 4 GB card maybe. She said it was. I told her I would duck down when she wanted to take a picture. I had to 32 GB cards and 3 cameras with me that I was using. At least she was understanding of how much the hard drive crashing has upset me.

Not much else going on around here. Mikey is finally getting a haircut tomorrow. I think it has been at least 6 months since he had his last one and he is looking a bit like a sheepdog. He wants to apply for some jobs in some food places and understands that he needs to look a little more groomed. I'll post a before and after picture tomorrow. I'm proud of him wanting to earn some money of his own and starting to think about his future. He's almost 17 and a junior in high school. He is autistic, but high functioning, and I have never let him use that as an excuse for anything.

Hope you all have a nice evening and I will try and catch up tomorrow.

@dazedx3 :grouphug: It is a hard journey. I understand your feelings completely. Valentine's Day was a tough for me too. We had our way to celebrate. I try to think of the good things but that brings tears too. I talk to Chris alot. Prayers for some peace for you.

It is 48 here right now with rain coming in for part of the day. I have to do some grocery shopping. I am trying to eat what I have in the freezer and fridge before buying any more stuff. Anything I do have leftover I can bring to Kenny's house. The movers can pack up the cans I have and store those for me. I have been through the expiration dates and donated any that are within 6 months to a year. I had to throw out a few that were expired or due to expire soon. Chris bought alot of canned goods which I still have and some don't expire until next year. I am not a fan of some of the stuff he bought. He really liked beefaroni. LOL! Not my favorite. But I feel like I should eat it in his memory. I may just donate it in his memory.

I am interested in looking at the condo tomorrow. My agent says it will be a bidding war as this particular complex is popular and is not 55+. I am not getting involved in that. If it speaks to me and I want to put in an offer I will one in that I am comfortable with. I looked at last year's sales of condos in the complex so I have an idea what to offer if I want to.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Good Friday morning!:flower:

Snowysmom - good luck with the condo tomorrow 🤞. I think I would donate the beefaroni to a food pantry. I'm sure he would like it if someone struggling ate the beefaroni. I'm with you though, don't think I could eat it.🤢

Bobbiwoz - do you ever just sit and watch your fish 🐠? I was told that they like to stay together in groups of 3. When I watch mine, I notice that they do swim around in 3's. Each week when it warms up and the ice on top of the pond melts, I run out and feed them. A couple of years ago we had 17 fish until a very terrible accident killed them all, so I went out last summer and bought some more, starting off with 6. I was expecting them to multiply over the winter like they usually do but so far still just 6.

Got a couple of loads of laundry done last night, I'll do the sheets today :laundy:. Need to clean the house this morning, little miss Mia is coming over today 🥰.

It's supposed to drop down to the lows 30's today from the 70's yesterday.😣

Really bored at work yesterday so I looked up some Florida wedding sites for Jacob and Livia. Wedding probably won't be until summer of 2025 but they aren't sure they want to do a destination or just get married here. Jacob doesn't think anyone from her family will go to Florida for the wedding, this includes her parents. Jacob is always telling me how they treat her, I think that's why she likes doing things with our family. She's mentioned to me before that her family never did things together (movies, museums, festivals) so she gets excited when I suggest things.

Working all weekend so I need to get my stuff done this morning or tonight. Can't decide if I want to go to the grocery store tonight or if I can wait until Tuesday after work 🤔.

Have a great day!

@footballmouse, I sure do sit and watch the fish, :fish: and I never have noticed a special number swimming together. I am very sorry to read there was a terrible pond accident. I hope these do have babies for you! Last winter there was a fin disease that killed about 10 fish and I am hoping this spring will be differen.

Good morning, it was 54° this morning when I woke at 6. Tonight it should go into the 30s and that’s more like it.

We are heading north to buy some bird food and meet a good friend for pizza lunch in Seaside Heights, NJ. Faye and I were sorority sisters, so, we are long term friends. She also has an adult tricycle and rides it often even in winter. Mine is put away for the season.

I wish everyone a good day!

Good morning. It's 50 out now, but windy and the cold front is coming in. Will be in the 30's by this afternoon. I knew the nice day we had Wednesday wouldn't last. At least there's no snow coming along with it.

@dazedx3 :grouphug:

@Snowysmom Good luck with the condo viewing tomorrow. Glad that all the paperwork is finally getting over the hurdle on the sale of your current one.

@tazdev3225 Sorry that you lost the Scotland pictures, but glad that you have so many other happy memories to hold onto

Nothing new going on here. Don had a fairly good day yesterday. He actually ate 3 meals. This morning he's back to saying he doesn't feel great. It's like a revolving door around here.

Off to vacuum the kitchen floor before he falls asleep, then I can wash it.

Have a great Friday

Treasure every moment with your loved ones.
Good advice. I hope your day goes well -

Smart approach.

Ok, you guys sure do have me interested in a fish pond. We have a pond on our property and I have long wondered if that couldn't just do the trick vs. a installed and dedicated smaller pond. I'd love to have a pond with interesting fish in it to watch and observe.

Hope he has a good weekend and starts to feel better now that his meds have been adjusted. How is your stepdaughter doing?

Not much going on this weekend. We started the demo on the basement, so that will continue. Some of the kids are coming over Saturday to start to sketch out plans for the summer wedding, I am thinking of making beef stew for dinner that night, it'll be cold and that will be a nice comfort meal.

Thank you, so do I, it's been stressing me out big time. I don't know how Summer is. I just mentioned to him that we haven't heard from her in a couple of weeks. He tried calling her but got voice mail. I'm guessing there's not much new or she would have called or texted. Thanks for asking!

I may just donate it in his memory.
I think that's a lovely idea!
I used to volunteer at a food pantry, and if we got notes notes in special donations, someone would put them up on the fridge in the stockroom, so the baggers could read them as they packed people's groceries.

Good Morning and Happy Friday, Friends,

Chilly here still. I was extra grateful to be able to put the very snowman printed blanket I have on my lap right now on my bed for extra warmth last night. Such a blessing from God, of course, to have a safe and warm bed period.

Dad is doing his usual Friday :laundy:followed by 🛒at Ralphs. He will thankfully use a discount through a Kroger gift card we earned and got as credit card cash back. We sure are grateful to be able to gain some extra pennies through that.

God put in my heart last night, words to offer in tribute to Shirley. I'm working on finishing that this morning so that I can email it in plenty of time to my friend Sally who will kindly read it on my behalf at Shirley's Memorial service on 2-28. Better to get something done early.

Shirley really was a human Energizer Bunny as I used to tell her and am incorporating in my memories of her to be read. God willing when I am in my 90s, how extra blessed I would be to have Shirley's health, spunk, and plain energy. Lol, sometimes I was tired just hearing about all she did in a day. She was always up for fellowship and time with her family for sure. I know none of you knew her which is too bad because you would have liked her. But I would appreciate an extra opinion on my piece. PM me if you wouldn't mind reading it. It will just be a page, so not long at all. Thank you.

On a different note, while my teeth are still so clean, I think within the next couple of weeks I will ask dad to find out whether his dentist would be willing to see me very quickly (I am thinking I would need 10 minutes or so of his time), to give me a second opinion. I appreciate so much the kindness and time of my current dentist. I'm in no way intending to doubt him about the hole in the filling. It does seem odd that he hasn't consistently metioned it. To be fair, he knows any dental work has to be a true need due to my tmj. I have also made clear that when any possible issue is in the tiny phase, which is where this is, that is exactly when and not a moment later, that I want to resolve it. I sure learned that lesson back in 2009 when a once tiny cavity that I chose to not get filled needed a root canal. Reminder to each of you to please do not let this happen to you! Anyway, thanks for listening to all this. Onto my replies :)

:thanks:Taz, for all the wise and loving care you bless Mikey and all in your life with, especially kids and teens. I still need dad to cut my hair! I hope Mikey's haircut goes well and job prayers to him indeed. :hug:extra to you. I am so sorry about your lost pictures. Great reminder to back up important photos and documents. I am very grateful to hear your mom is being supportive of you as she should be!

Bobbiwoz, enjoy your 🍕lunch with Faye. Thank you for sharing about her with us. The two of you are so blessed to have such a long friendship. I'm truly so thankful God has given you many who so care for and support you and Tom, too, including all of us, your Quacker family.

Snowysmom, ITA with other Quackers that donating any excess canned or other food you may not have need for or truly enjoy even, would be a wonderful gift you can give to Chris and of course, God by helping to feed His sheep. Thank you for already doing just that. :hug:and prayers that tomorrow's condo visit will be a positive and helpful experience for you.

Footballmouse, yikes to that drastic and frigid ☃️temperature drop. Please stay warm and bundle up well when you need to go out. Enjoy the blessing of another afternoon with precious Mia. God Bless you and truly huge thank you for giving Livia the love and support of family. You are absolutely heeding God's call by making a life long kind difference to her. Congratulations always to her and Jacob.

Lynn, praises extra to God! I am so very thankful extra to Him that this message finds Don having turned a corner! 🙏that he eats well today and regains more energy in so doing. Always prayers that you both take care. Summer, I sincerely pray, is getting the care and support she needs. I love your morning ::MickeyMopicture. It reminds me of a greeting card that way back in the mid 90's my grandma and I loved to repeatedly send to each other. The card had a dog standing on a ladder looking into a house window. The message said something like, "just looking in on you to see how you are doing." Short, sweet, and full of love. Please take care, too, my friend.

Easyas, enjoy extra time this weekend with your kids along with the blessing of being able to help plan a wedding. :cheer2:that you have something so special to look forward to and participate in the process of making happen, too.

PollyannaMom, prayers you and cats alike are warm, well, and having a good Friday. How is your son doing? 🙏

Wishing all of dear you a good day. I will check in later :dogdance:

Lynn I am glad Don felt better yesterday. It seems like it may be an up and down process until the meds get just right for him.

Footballmouse How nice that you will have Mia today. It is always such a comforting and loving time with the little ones.

I did my grocery shopping and of course added a couple extra items into the cart. I love bread but try to be careful not to overdo it. They sometimes have a small whole wheat french loaf and today they did. I just had some with a bit of peanut butter on it. It is one of my comfort foods and I have it with a little milk. It just hit the spot today. I also added a candy bar that called my name. I put it in the fridge and will eat it piece by piece over the next couple of days. I avoid the candy aisle that always hollers at me to stop by for a visit. This time the display by the cash register got me. I got back to the condo and had lunch, cleaned the tubs, bathroom mirrors, rest of the bathrooms, and took 3 wagon loads of stuff to the car to bring to Kenny's house tomorrow. The walkthrough for the buyer is Feb 27 and I will be here for it. I am keeping things clean as always but there are some packed moving boxes around. I am sure that won't be an issue as I am living here for a while.

I am doing my due diligence for the condo visit tomorrow. Jeff told me to take a look and see how close the loading docks of the shopping plaza stores are to the condo. You know they will be unloading trucks early in the morning. I run things by the kids because they are so smart and thoughtful. I just don't know how close the plaza really is to the condo. It is hard to tell on google maps and satellite view.

Have a good rest of the day. Rainy here and temp is falling to the 20s tonight.

Enjoy every tasty piece of your 🍫treat, Snowysmom! Continuing prayers for tomorrow. You are absolutely taking extra care to be prepared. I still truly believe God will lead you to where next He knows will be right and in your heart, dear friend, you will feel peace in that place:grouphug:

Dad is thanks to God home now until he goes to Pavilions on Sunday. He only spent $1 this morning at Ralphs! We are sure grateful to have had our Kroger gift card. I did ask him to give his dentist's office a call sometime during the next few weeks and he will do just that. Dad agrees a second opinion for peace of mind is always a smart and good thing to try and get. I will update.

Enjoy the rest of the day!

PollyannaMom, prayers you and cats alike are warm, well, and having a good Friday. How is your son doing? 🙏
I was pleasantly surprised tonight to find that he and his buddy wanted to make dinner! They produced a very edible stir fry 😃😃😃 - a little too much salt (by their own conclusion) but otherwise excellent!

The weather is supposed to get colder tonight, but it wasn't bad when I went out earlier. (I took some homemade tortellini soup over to MIL, who is recovering from knee surgery. - FIL is a very attentive "nurse", but not a cook. 😆)

What a kind son, PollyannaMom you raised whuch, of course, is no surprise given what a kind and lovely person you are:hug:That was so nice of both him and his friend to cook dinner. 🙏for your MIL. Thank you for bringing both her and your FIL the soup.

Thanks. I enjoyed the break and am proud of them! They plan to continue learning how to make more things, too.

It's such an overwhelming time to be a young person, so it's really good to see them take on a positive project that will build their skills and self esteem.

Good morning. Cold one here at 24 degrees. Just a reminder that it is still winter.

I have the car packed up to bring things to Kenny's house to store. Then off to the condo open house. I am a bit overwhelmed by looking at it by myself but I have my areas to look at and need to listen to my heart and soul. My brain can process everything. After the open house I will go visit Jeff and the grandkids.

Have a good Saturday.

Just a reminder that it is still winter
I got up early with the pups, and poured some coffee and was watching the local news. Our weather came on - cold today but warming up over this coming week. I think we are going to get a bit spoiled - and the plants a bit confused!! - when Mother Nature reverts back to winter time temps we will miss the nice weather. Gotta keep reminding myself that we still have March & April to get thru. I keep reminding myself that I have two work trips to warm locations coming up in March, and I am headed back down to FL in April to my folks place to take care of some business in April....I'll be looking forward to those three trips when the weather goes back to normal for sure!

I'll eventually get myself in gear and head out to the Farmers Market, with a quick stop at the grocery store this morning. Beef stew for supper this evening, possibly fireside if we have a bonfire. Today is house cleaning and helping my husband with the basement work. I think tomorrow we will head out for a spot of shopping and maybe lunch, I need new sneakers.

Snowy - enjoy looking at the condo today, and your time with your grandkids.

Have a good weekend everyone-
