Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good news, the GKs are home and very happy to be here. Their stepmother brought them back, not their father. Lou Lou was so excited to see her new dollhouse from Santa! Lil Joe just couldn't believe that he had an electric scooter. Gifts have been unwrapped, scratch offs scratched and only Lou Lou won any money, $20 to be put away for a rainy day.

The house is full again, the ex already trying to cause trouble and after taking a breathe, says he wants to start over with a new slate. Ha! He has said that before, DD doesn't believe him and won't answer him.

Good night and sweet dreams!

@dazedx3 :grouphug: What a difficult day. It is something you don't wish on your worst enemy. Do what you need to do to get through the day. The nurse sounds like a kind soul and you will find many kind souls on your journey. I hope you are seeing a therapist. Just talking with one helps. I talk so much about Chris that my therapist tells me she feels like she knows him. She is one of the kind souls I have found.

Kirby Glad the kids are home I hope something can be done so this does not happen again.

I talked with the real estate agent yesterday. She asked if I would be willing to have her handle the sale and buying. She said she can save me some commission money as well as have leverage with timing of selling and buying. She also explained some more of the advantages. I was impressed by her knowledge and desire to help her client. Kenny did say she is very good and clients stay with her when they buy and sell their homes. So I agreed. She is coming Saturday to take a look. I told her no staging and she agreed. We will work with what I have. I get a good feeling from her.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Happy Hump Day!☂️

Wow, was it hard to come back in the office this morning 😒. I've been working from home since Xmas and I definitely prefer that.

Got the spare room's closet all cleaned out, I've decided that the 2 kids who have used that bedroom in the past are pigs 🐷. I did 4 loads of laundry yesterday and I have 1 left for today when I get home. Mitchell had a 6 drawer dresser in that room and instead of using it, he kept his clothes in the laundry baskets. Going through all that clothes since he's lost so much weight I need to see what fits him.

Got my Kroger click list together for Thursday, trying to get back in that routine instead of going into the store. I think I spent less money doing the click list.💵

I was impressed by her knowledge and desire to help her client.
Glad you found an agent that you feel comfortable with. Hopefully this next move will be less stressful.

Good news, the GKs are home and very happy to be here.
Finally, glad they are home!

Well that's about it, everyone is starting to file in so I guess I need to get to work. Have a great day!

Good morning. Rain stopped overnight but is supposed to be back this afternoon. Temps still near 60.
@Kirby--So glad that the GK's are back home where they belong. I hope your daughters attorney can do something about that, so it doesn't happen again.

Nothing much new here. We are off to the market and to do errands

Have a nice morning

Also glad you‘ve settled on an agent Snowysmom! It seems like it would be more seamless to have just one person dealing with everything. 🤞🏻I hope you still take the time you need to just “be” for a little while.

Footballmouse, I hear you with your son, lol. What is it with those boys? Lol. Glad Mia is thriving! It must be hard to go back to work after working from home. I understand your exhaustion with shift work, too.

Hoping dazed is feeling a little less overwhelmed today. :grouphug: Stay in touch so we know how you’re doing!

Well my day yesterday did not go as planned. I was beat. And in the morning it started pouring down cold rain, so I didn’t want to go out in that. I wound up dozing off on the sofa before dinner yesterday and slept right through. DH threw some beach pizza in the oven from the freezer and made a salad, which I missed out on, but he put some aside for me (which I may have for lunch today). Forget the pot roast. :lmao: And can’t decide whether to attempt that today or put the meat in the freezer for later. (Only because we had stew w all the same stuff and brought it for work lunches, etc.). We do have some ham steaks to use up, too. I am off next week thankfully. 😴

I forgot to mention that DS’s golf clubs finally made it home on Sunday night, I think it was. Five days after our flight home! SWA was good about it though, and kept us in the loop via email. You’ll appreciate that the driver who dropped them off told DH and DS he was from CT, was working for the airport in RI, traveled to MA for us and some others, apparently, in different areas of the state, and also had a drop off to go to NH! 😳 He was a busy guy! What a saga.

I hope everyone has a nice Wednesday. 🐥

So glad to read this, your daughter must be so relieved/exhausted.

Good for her-
I talked with the real estate agent yesterday.
Sounds like someone who knows their stuff, sounds like you have a solid plan.
Hoping dazed is feeling a little less overwhelmed today. :grouphug: Stay in touch so we know how you’re doing!
I just wanted to echo this sentiment as well.

:grouphug: @dazedx3

@Kirby So happy the GKs are home.

@footballmouse Mia is adorable.

@Snowysmom glad you met with and liked the agent.

@Pea-n-Me glad you have next week off... sounds like you need it.

Up really early this morning(for me anyway...) with Dolly. DH left the light on in the vanity area is our bathroom so I think she thought it was later than it was. She patiently waited for me to get out of bed but of course after the initial wake up, I couldn't fall back asleep so we just got up. She's out galavanting in the back, back yard, her new favorite thing...lol The neighbors behind us have 3 GS dogs so she likes to run the fence with them. I've been feeling grumpy and out of sorts the last two days and I don't know why.... maybe it's the weather, it's been gloomy. I was going to take the tree down yesterday but the lights make me happy...lol Need to do it today though, we finally have a date for someone to come out and do the drywall and flooring repair on Monday/Tuesday. I need to have everything ready to move the TV stand before the weekend, as our friend needs to help DH and they are leaving for a cruise on Sunday. Maybe that's why I'm grumpy too... we were supposed to go with them but then DH changed his mind. When he changed his mind again, there were hardly any cabins left and not what where we wanted so decided to skip it.

Hope you all have a good day...maybe I need to try and go back to bed for a little while. L:laughing:

Home from shopping. Sun is trying hard to come out, but they are still saying rain. Aldi's was almost empty. I even had to wait for a cashier who was stocking shelves. Not one other person at the registers and very few in the store. Walmart wasn't busy when I got there, but was packed when I left. I went to the 'hidden'U Scan, empty as usual. They must have been busy the last 2 days. Cat food was wiped out, bird seed was wiped out, Laundry detergent aisle was half empty. I had to switch brands as they were out of the softener sheets and tide pods I wanted. They have gas grills out in the main aisle, and Valentine's stuff in the next section. Let's just rush summer already..not! They were filling up the seasonal aisle with Valentine candy. I was good, only bought one bag of Hershey's kisses chocolate meltaway. They are so good, and it's the only time I ever find them. Stopped at CVS and picked up Don's prescriptions and came home.
I cleaned out the fridge since it was trash day, then put everything away.
Off to relax and write for awhile.
Have a nice afternoon

Happy Wednesday to all! :grouphug:extra to al of dear you, too

Thinking extra of Dazed this morning and sending extra love and care her way!

Kirby, I am so grateful to God that your grandkids are safely home as they should be! :hug:to you as well!

Snowysmom, I also give God extra thanks that all went so well with your real estate agent. ITA with Pea and others that hopfully working with just one person will make the process much smoother and a whole lot less overwhelming.

Dad has headed off to Best Buy to return the laptop. I called Target this morning and a kind electronics employee checked, and he said the store has a lot of the Asus laptops in stock. We are thankful dad will just be able to get it himself rather than our having to order it online. Target and Best Buy are in the same shopping area. An extra blessing on a rainy morning such as today is that the parking garage for both is underground and all indoors so dad will stay dry. I will update later and thank you all, extra Snowysmom, for your new laptop support and help. I would appreciate dad extra prayers for tomorrow and Friday when he has two different medical appointments. Tomorrow with his doctor and Friday with an ENT to go over hearing options. I sincerely and always thank you all more than I can say for your kind loving prayers and extra support to me and for my beloved dad.

Dad and I did finish watching A Little Christmas Charm last night. We both really enjoyed the story. It was so refreshing to get to see the behind the scenes in a way love story of Yelena and John. It was wonderful getting to meet them both at the end of the movie and learn that by the Grace of God, they are still together and going strong. Also, Yelena happens to be the name of our next-door neighbor. This was definitely a movie that I would enjoy a sequel too. I have now watched half of The Gift of Peace which is a totally different feel of movie from A Little Christmas Charm. It's truly beautifully told, sharing honest grief and healing. The scene where the characters go on an early morning hiking adventure to a mountain lookout is stunning and indeed a reminder that God is everywhere and with us anywhere. I also so cheered for Regina when she shared about her mom on this trip. I would recommend both movies for sure just take to heart that the first is lighthearted and fun while the second is not typical Hallmark but lovely and healing indeed. I look forward to watching more of it today.

Almost forgot to share about the foam gingerbread house kit we got from Amazon. The foam material that builds the house after two weeks of having it smells strongly of to me old shoes! Rubbery. This apartment doesn't have good air flow at all. The building door is very close to ours. We will give the house to a friend of mine who lives in an assisted living facility with an activity room that opens up to the outside which should help the smell. Lol, of course, by the time December of this year comes, I would certainly hope the odor will have diminished! Grateful that more people will get to have fun making the house this way. Dad and I will keep an eye out for a plastic or wooden kit instead. The Christmas Charm movie had a scene where the characters bake and create a gingerbread village. Houses, a church, Christmas trees. There was even a pink Christmas house! I would enjoy helping with something like that. I know you can purchase separate Christmas village buildings. Do any of you know whether there are also kits to make such places? That would be away dad and I could create and add our own building each year. Fun to think about :)

Prayers each of you has a warm and wonderful Wednesday. I will check back later.

Good afternoon.

Currently on hold with Medicare. Got a bill from my GYN that I thought should have been covered. Tried calling the MD billing office but got tired of the music after 10 minutes or so so trying this now.

63 here and cloudy. We are going to the Longwood Christmas display one last time tonight and taking Jack's sister. Borderline if it would rain but we are going to risk it. Not much else going on.

the GKs are home and very happy to be here.
:cool1::cool1:
I get a good feeling from her.
I am glad to hear that.
DS’s golf clubs finally made it home
Great! Better late than.
we finally have a date for someone to come out and do the drywall
Lucky you. I wish we did.

Good afternoon fellow Quackers. Popping on to say "howdy" for a quick second.

@Snowysmom glad to hear you liked the agent. I concur with others who have said working with one person for both the sale and purchase seems like the best option.

@Kirby SO glad to hear the grandkids made it home. Still hoping this little "stunt" will cause their father to have some sort of consequence.

@footballmouse Miss Mia is adorable. I've said it before and I'll say it again, snuggles with a baby can do wonders for the soul.

@flyingdumbo127 Hope your dad has no issues with the return of his computer and no issues with the purchase of the new one.

I ran across a little quote today that kind of "hit home" for me and I hope it will maybe touch a few others on here.

And then One Day

We find we have room to hold both hurt and hope.

Grief, as we have discussed comes in so many forms ,but I do believe that even as we grieve we can have hope and joy. I also know that it sometimes has to be a deliberate choice, to find the joy or the happiness, when all we can feel is darkness.

There is not much to report on my end with FH. My attorney has been sick, so I am waiting until I meet with her next week to see what steps we are taking to hopefully move forward. The kids go see FH tonight for their 2 hour weekly visit. It will just be the boys as the girls both have practice. This coming weekend is also their weekend to visit. I do have plans with a friend on Friday night for supper, so that is good. We have not had a chance to meet and really catch up for awhile, so I am looking forward to it.

It has been spitting a bit of snow here most of the day. I just would like the sun to come out, but I'm thinking it will be a bit before that happens. I don't think though, there is any major precipitation for us coming up, at least for the next few days.

Good afternoon friends,

Dad did get his money back from Best Buy and was also able to get the Asus from Target. We haven't looked at it yet but will.

I'm sorry to hear that, Carol! ITA with others that your visit should have been covered indeed!

PollyannaMom, so glad to hear all went well at the vet. It is so hard taking a furry friend to the doctor emotionally and of course because they, like us humans, are usually not thrilled with going to the doctor. Glad that is done with.

:grouphug:Frog and thank you for sharing such a beautiful and wise quote with us.

Wishing each of you a warm and dry (still rainy here) rest of the day

Good evening everyone, hope you all had a good day.

We realized this evening that we've entered that 'meh' time of year, watching reruns of Dr. Who & Mash and accidently eating the same meal two days in a row! I literally made the same thing this evening as last night - didn't even pay attention! Chicken & salad, part two!

Now I need to think of something different for dinner tomorrow night...

Had a busy day at work today, BUT I got a lot done, a lot of little details and odd s& ends taken care of, things I've been neglecting. Plus we made arrangements to catch up with some family members we haven't seen in a bit on Sunday.

Have had a few nights in a row of not great sleep, hoping for a decent night tonight. Insomnia is no fun.

Welp, back to Dr. Who.
