PVB Tower Charts, Sales Date and more!!!

Has anyone seen data as to how many resort view 1BRs are currently in DVC inventory? Was the most recent declaration in March? Trying to make myself feel better about releasing a night that I already had and now needing it back because JetBlue cancelled our flight and moved us to the next day... Was really hoping to avoid the waitlist & stalk game this trip, but here we are...
There were 4 dedicated One Bedroom villas in the initial declaration, plus 10 lockoffs.

Wonderful news to report from the VGF facebook page. This morning they began wrist-banding the pool. I wasn’t there, I’m sharing someone else’s information. The cast members came around to each person with a Mobil magic band scanner. When asked, the cast member said this is a permanent change. Let’s hope that’s true, and that Poly is next. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Epic Universe opened yesterday 🤣

Is this the demise of DVC pool hopping? I know it's been suspended for a while, or was this just a check for DVCness at all?

Things may have changed (or could change in the future) but our experience was Bell Services at the main building. There isn’t any place for them to store them at the tower (as far as I could tell).

When leaving, bell services picked us up and drove us (via their golf cart) to the GCH front so we could catch our Uber.
There is a Bell Services spot somewhere at the Tower. On our departure day a CM in the Tower lobby took our bags to that Bell Services and noted the time we needed them to be in front of GCH. Unfortunately they were not transferred over when requested so the GCH Bell Services person had to walk over to the Tower to get ours.

This was a check to prevent the pools from being used by people who were not registered guests of that hotel. But as you noted, pool hopping has not come back since Covid, and I don’t expect it to return.

but one thing I’ve not seen of those that have experienced the new tower. How as bell services? Since there isn’t a desk in the lobby, was there anyone out front, did you use them? How was the experience getting your luggage to your room?

Having stayed at the Tower several times now and used bell services to get luggage to the front of the Grand Ceremonial House for Uber/Lyft, I can confidently describe the experience in one word: Terrible.

The hotel management is not able to figure out how to efficiently move luggage from the tower to the GCH without losing track of it or how long to estimate its arrival. I had 4 separate experiences where I explicitly advised the staff to note that my Tower luggage needed to get to the GCH for pickup later, and they made notes on the luggage tags! But when I get to GCH to turn in my luggage tag, it becomes a mystery they cannot solve. The last time I had to wander their luggage holding area under the monorail by myself until I spotted the luggage cart with my stuff on it. Shameful and prompts me to stop using bell services at PVB altogether. I rarely complain about anything Disney, but this is just bad.

A few months ago, I had a terrible experience with bell services when checking into a longhouse. I lugged my bags to GCH at checkout to avoid a repeat.

I think Poly's bell services are all out of sorts, no matter what portion you're staying in. Maybe the Island Tower screwed up their entire system, or made them short staffed.

Has anyone had experience with a split stay from the Island Tower to another resort? Are they at least able to get the luggage to the next resort correctly? We have a split stay in January

If anyone has experience going the other way (other resort to Island Tower), I'd be very interested to hear about it!

We have done split stays, but opted to transfer our own luggage. Many years ago, (literally our first DVC stay) we stayed at AKV Kidani and moved to BLT (year both opened). They lost several of our bags. They did find them on the very last day, but it wasn't a fun time. (Ended up it was lost at Kidani bell services - which was essentially open 8-9 months). When they lost our luggage we lost many hours having to meet with Disney staff. They did compensate us, but it made for a bad vacation.

Ever since then, we refuse to risk it. We take an Uber/Lyft so it's direct, quick and convenient.
