:welcome: They always give you TONS of food. Sharing works out fine for us. We have a Tables in Wonderland card so sometimes we order an appetizer as well. We always have plenty of food !!

Great reviews! Thanks so much for sharing. I can't wait to read about your Dream food....we are doing a 3 day in October!
Sorry about your ankle.

Sorry about your ankle.

:welcome: The Disney Dream is amazing !!! Is this your first cruise ??

Yep. The ankle thing REALLY sucks. Going to the Dr. tomorrow to discuss why is isn't healing faster. Possible MRI next week :sad1:

Just caught up...enjoying your review! Hope everything goes well tomorrow and you get some answers.

Lunch - 50's Prime Time cafe

And we arrived right on time for our 50’s Prime Time ADR.

DSC02467.jpg

As we were waiting to be seated, there was a man at the front trying to get a table for ten. At noon. During Spring Break. Seriously, dude ?? You ARE clueless. Way to plan ahead, guys. And the hostess was doing her best to tell him this politely and even offered to call around and see if she could find him a table. Anywho, I’m glad we had a reservation.

A really old TV. Or a decoration that looks like one.

DSC02469.jpg

We could see this TV from where we were sitting.

DSC02470.jpg

We had a really fun waiter. He yelled at the kids for putting their elbows on the table and not saying “may I”. DD got a little stressed by it, but we told it was just for fun and not to worry about it. He was in character but not over the top. Really fun. He was great with keeping our drinks filled, etc. He told me if I had another Diet Coke, I would need rubber sheets. LOL. I was thirsty. What can I say ??

Again, sharing was not a problem at all what so ever.

For starters we ordered Beer Battered Onion Rings for Two - served with Horseradish sauce.

DSC02473.jpg

These were very good and didn’t last long since all four of us love onion rings.

So DH and I shared - A Sampling of Mom's Favorite Recipes - Crispy-fried Chicken, Fork Tender Pot Roast, and Traditional Meatloaf with all the fixings.

DSC02471.jpg

This was fantastic - the ultimate in down home comfort food. DH and I just love this kind of old home cookin’ food. Very tasty. But it was a TON of food and even after splitting it, we were full. I don't see how one person can eat all of that food.

DS ordered - Aunt Liz's Golden Fried Chicken - served with mashed potatoes, chicken gravy and southern greens. We switched the greens out for green beans and the waiter asked if he wanted fries instead of the potatoes and of course DS went for that.

DSC02472.jpg

Very tasty. We had the fried chicken in our entrée, so we tasted it. Super yummy !!

DD ordered – Macaroni and Cheese and French Fries.

DSC02473.jpg

It must have been good because she ate it all. I am pretty sure the only three things she ate on our trip were, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese and pizza. Yeah – real healthy. But we were on vacation, so whatever.

For dessert DH and I split - Dad's Brownie Sundae - Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream, Hot Fudge, and Caramel topping

DSC02475.jpg

Chocolatey, ice cream-y yumminess. Good stuff. DS had one, too. We didn't finish either one because they were huge and we were just so full.

DD had the kid’s sundae.

DSC02476.jpg

More 50’s décor.

DSC02477.jpg

Love the Disney brand TV. Please tell me this is a man in a wig – yikes !!

I am going to give this meal a Mrs. Incredible rating.

Everything was as good and as fun as we expected it to be. We would definitely go there again !!

We went to dinner at Boma

BOMA_1_998.jpg

This a beautiful restaurant, but it was very busy and loud. And after going commando for four days in the parks, we were pretty tired.

I try not to take buffet food photos because they are really just glops of food on a plate and not very appetizing. I wasn’t wowed by the food there, but I didn’t hate it either. It was just OK. Plus, we were just exhausted so I am not sure we gave it a fair shake.

Service was good, and we got plenty to eat, we just weren’t excited about it. The kids didn't really like the food here and didn't eat much.

I do have two kinda funny stories about this meal though.

First - There was a super long line at the buffet and people in line were joking about how Boma needed a fast pass machine. I was pretty funny and it cheered us up about having to wait in line. The line moved pretty slow and it took about 20 minutes to get our food.

Second - there was a table next to us with a couple and their young son about 5 or 6 years old. The mother ordered one of those cocktails with a light up ice cube. She had taken her son up to get his plate of food while the drink was delivered to the table. She brought him back and then went to get her food. So he was alone at the table. He was mesmerized by the ice cube and considered the drink for several minutes. He just couldn't stand it and lifted the class to take a sip. I was like   His dad came back a minute or two later and he said to him, "Daddy, that drink tastes really yummy. Can I have one?" The dad quickly moved the drink to the other side of the table and told him "no, that is a special drink for adults only." I laughed and he looked over at me and did a face palm and smiled and shook his head. I thought it was pretty funny. You assume that your children won't take a sip when you aren't looking, but I guess that blinking ice cube was just too much temptation.

I am going to give this restaurant an Edna rating:

Edna_mode2.jpg

It was just OK, but I since there are so many other options we probably won't go back any time soon.

We had two snack credits to burn so the kids got some candy at the gift shop and we headed back to get everything washed, folded and packed up for the next VERY exciting day. We were boarding the Disney Dream for our very first cruise !!

We love Boma...but totally get it's not for everyone. Breakfast is our favorite, but we enjoy dinner too. Can't wait to read your cruise review. The 3 day in October will be our second cruise. We did a 7 day Western on the Magic two years ago. While we are on this cruise, we are going to book a New Year's Eve cruise for 2013 on the Fantasy. So excited!

We booked a 7 day western on the Fantasy while on board the Dream for Nov 2013. We are very excited about it !!! All of the food was amazing !! You will love it !!

Did you get a GAC pass or was the presence of the scooter enough to cinvince the CM's. I am new at this scooter thing. Since it $50 a day to rent a scooter at the parks, we have reserved one from an offsite place at $133 for seven days. Which is HUGE savings.

I really hope I won't have to deal with rude people. Don't they realize that we wish we could walk as well as they can and not have to use a scooter ??

We did not get a pass, the scooter and the big bandage on his leg were proof enough I think. LOL. Some people are just too ignorant because they feel they will have to wait a whole 5 more mins while impaired guests board a ride. We have had to wait 20mins while make a wish kids boarded rides before, and our thought was--what a great thing that they can still enjoy all the magic! Not "oh my gosh how dare them "butt" in line". Just smile and ignore rude folks! We did!!

I will smile ..... and remind them they have two good legs .... LOL. Thanks for the info.

This made me lol!:lmao: It reminded me of our last trip where
my son ate bread and pizza our entire trip aside from breakfast, well, he ate toast and bacon:rolleyes:, I made him eat an apple at the Biergarten, I just couldn't take it anymore!:rotfl:

For realz. At some point I begin to worry she will get scurvy if I don't get some thing decent in her stomach. :rotfl::rotfl2:

This is the day we board the Disney Dream. The day we have been waiting for almost two years. Since we didn’t have to be at the terminal until 11:00 AM, we slept in a bit and then packed up the car and headed over to Jambo House to use our last four counter service credits for breakfast. We ate at the Mara again.

I left the camera in the car and didn’t get food pictures, so I “borrowed” some from the internet

DH had the bounty platter, I had the croissant sandwich

(which I really liked, by the way)

DD and DS got Mickey waffles.

Your basic breakfast stuff. It was good and filling.

I’m going to give this an Edna Rating.

Edna_mode2.jpg

There was nothing particularly spectacular about this meal, but it was good and filled us up.

I find that Disney breakfast food, just isn’t really all that great. It fills you up, but it isn’t anything fabulous.

We got back to the car and with great excitement headed towards Port Canaveral. And with this piece of information, we conclude our WDW portion of this DR and move onto the Dream portion. Very exciting.

When it was time for lunch, we went to the Enchanted Garden. There was only a small line because we got there early.

It is a very pretty restaurant. My pitiful photos don’t do it justice.

The lunch was a buffet and the food was OK. We were glad we got there early because the line got really long. Lunch was quiet, though and we enjoyed it.

I am going to give this an Edna rating

It was just OK. Nothing great. I think the kids would have been happier with the choices up on deck.

Then we went back up on deck 11 (Enchanted Garden was on deck 2) to look around.

I just love your photos!! Thanks for taking the time to post them!

:welcome: Thanks so much !! And thank YOU for taking the time to drop by and say hello. I saw on your ticker you are leaving in FOUR days !!! You must be SUPER excited !! Those last few days take forever don't they ??

Ahhhh your photos bring me back to our Dream cruise in January! I loved the cruise so much (and glad to see that you got to partake of the drink of the day) :thumbsup2

And your food at 50s PT looks so good to me right now. I'm a little bit bummed that I cancelled my ADR there for our first night at WDW. Oh well, I'm sure I'll make up for it.

I can't wait to see how the rest of the cruise food was!
