PTR Oct 2010 - An Aussie returns: Back home and TR started (11/02)

Today, I'm NOT in the office and am working from home. I've pretty much completed my office tasks that I was supposed to do....sort of.
Which means that I have some time to spare for trip planning.

I just found a great side benefit for being at home.

As luck would have it, DH needed to get something down from the attic. I casually mentioned to him that we should bring the luggage down.....

I'm staring at bags as I type this!

Yay for bags being brought down! I keep mine in my closet, since I have a small-ish walk-in and have the space to keep them there. Have you packed yet?

NOT packed yet. I thought we were doing well....getting the bags down.

DH just came to tell me that his manager asked if it was possible for him to extend his time in San Francisco next week.

So, he's checked his ticket and it looks like he has a non-refundable cast iron ticket that would cost $$$$$$ to change.

This is so NOT happening. Looks like his manager will just have to think about another trip for DH .

Irrespective of what happened with DH, I would have still come home to DS. He would NOT be happy if both parents extended the trip and I will have so missed him by next Friday.

The sad thing is that I was asking myself the same question about 4 hours ago .

The conclusion?.......

It's a good thing.

Yes...it's a distinct possibility. The team meeting is definitely happening for DH. We're waiting on his manager to confirm which week. It may move from that last week of Jan/early Feb to the week before.

And then I have to negotiate time off with work....... I have the leave time; and it could work out well with the summer school holidays so DS and I can hang out in our favourite places in Silicon Valley. It's just that it could be a busy time for the project I'm working on.

If DH is asked to go again before Christmas, he'll be going alone....but I'll be working on the laptop, broadband, skype and 'on-line' shopping.

Depending on the dates and your itinerary, it will NOT be the World.....but I do NOT see why it couldn't possibly be the LAND ?

No. Same trip. Just NOT sure which week yet. I'll let you know when we know for sure.
Yes....I've been checking out the Museum and debating whether I want to go see it this trip or in January. I'm erring towards January because I can take DS with me and it would be cool to do it together.
