PTR Oct 2010 - An Aussie returns: Back home and TR started (11/02)

We like to say it's our second Disney obsession, that we pay annual dues for, but "free" accomodations (that cost about $2000 per year) are OK considering how much we stay, especially now that there is a CA property. I'm finding that we use up our FL points staying in CA! So much that we have to buy more points if we want to be able to stay in FL!

I'd be signing up if Australia were a lot closer to the US....or if they built a Disney downunder :hyper:

 I know! Let's build some crazy device to smush them together! :lmao: :lmao: You guys could be next to Mexico and California and keep California from falling off! :rotfl:

Yes, I'm being an idiot :)

Nah....my ideal spot for Australia is in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Pretty much where the Azores are.

We'd be close to Europe, Africa AND the Americas :thumbsup2

Wouldn't that be cool. I wouldn't buy there, but would definitely make reservations at 7 months! I think Hawaii is your closest for now!

I've been watching the blog on Hawaii. It may actually be the best spot for us; now that DS is over 10.

I've never been out of the country, so I haven't a clue what the Azores are like.

I didn't say that we had to be the Azores :rolleyes1

.....I would just shift all of Australia to where the Azores is currently located.

The Azores are part of Portugal. The Portuguese had their chance to rule the world in the 15th Century. Vasco da Gama certainly gave them a shot.....but it was the English that the sun did NOT set on. :rotfl2:

Well, I still have no idea what that part of the world is like :rotfl:

The furthest away from home I've ever been was Fairbanks, AK :) Have you ever been to Alaska?

Alaska is one state that I have NOT made it to....yet.
You'll have to post pictures up on your PTR. We did have someone from Alaska posting on the scavenger hunt and her pictures were spectacular.

And I've been to Europe but NOT to the Azores; so I do NOT know what it's like there either. :teeth:

I've had three computers fail since I was in Alaska (one while I was there, actually) and so I don't have very many pics left :( Just a few on my Facebook account. I'll put them up, though :) If you ever get the chance to go see Alaska, you should! It's gorgeous!

Hey, my desktop still works after 8 years :)

My first laptop's hard drive failed because my roommate's "friend" downloaded something onto it without my permission (he didn't even have permission to use it) and that damaged it irreparably. The second one overheated and had to be repaired, then the AC adapter failed. So I bought a new one online. That shorted out and blew out the screen (not in an explodey way, in a *POP-black screen of death* way). The third one fell on the floor while on. :confused3

When it's once, it's an accident.
When it's twice, it's bad luck.
When it's three times, it MUST be you!

:rotfl2:

:confused3 I'm not particularly happy about it, but such is life, you know? I'm going to get the extended warranty this time around.

I got paid today :cool1: which meant that I could go out and get that black dress I had my eye on. :thumbsup2

Problem is....I was NOT the only one with an eye on that dress. Turns out half of Melbourne had their beedy eyes on MY dress!
Anyway, the dress is so popular that there is NOT one in my size anywhere in the state where I live.
Ah well....looks like I'll have to make do with my existing wardrobe.
(What's that saying Firefly just used?...Oh yes....such is life, you know?)

And in case you think that I saved the money and will have the extra cash for WDW.....let me set the record straight. Naturally, I do NOT.

I went to my favourite camera store and bought myself a new camera bag. My current bag is a slingshot and it is NOT good for my back (did I mention I have bad scoliosis??). Since I've been carrying the camera around, my chiropractor has been enjoying additional business from me.
So the new bag is a backpack and it is much better for my back.

Whilst NOT as stylish, the backpack is much more practical than a new dress. :thumbsup2

I still think the camera bag was a better purchase than the dress, since you're sure to get more use out of it :)

This time next week, I will NOT be at home. I will be on my way to Orlando!

:cool1: :dance3: :yay: :yay:
