~Project Runway Season Season 8 Thread Spoilers Welcome~

Now, I admit I'm old and I get confused... but wasn't Andy's starting dress blue? Cerulean (I just rewatched "The Devil Wears Prada" this weekend ;))? But I didn't see ANY blue in his outfit. Or am I really off-base?

You're not off. He dyed it. All of it.

Valerie should have been in more trouble. You want to talk about poor taste - it's obvious that she cannot make clothes for normal people.

I agree with those who say that Mondo should have won last night's challenge, and I think that this week was definitely one of those where the producers had a hand in the decision. The call to name Michael C. the winner was purely out of spite for all of the contestants who threw him under the bus last week. But the problem I have with that is that Mondo is the one who really suffers for it. Mondo wasn't even in on the Michael C. hatefest last week! He was on the winning team!! :confused3

As for the Michael D. vs. Peach thing, it was a bitterwseet ending for me last night. I've really been rooting for Michael because he's from STL. But I SO didn't want to see Peach go last night. I honestly thought that Valerie's dress was worse than Peach and Michael's combined!

I agree. The original bridesmaid dress was bad, but the model didn't look bad. Valerie's dress made the model look really heavy and wide, when she was just "normal."

What does everyone think about the Michael C./Ivy accusations? I tend to think that he must have said something, since it was total strangers that reported to Ivy what he was saying. However, who knows if he said something more innocent and it got misconstrued. I loved that Ivy was so mad that he was talking about her behind her back, yet everytime Michael C. leaves the room they can't wait to bash him.

We didn't hear Michael C say anything about Ivy and we didn't hear any of the public repeat the "accusations" to Ivy. I, for one, think Ivy made it up or misconstrued something someone said. Michael C doesn't come across as that kind of person to me. He's not one of those people who is constantly criticizing and backstabbing people in the workroom. Doesn't it seem more likely he would have chosen Gretchen for his venom after her tirade last week?

I liked both Michael C's and Mondo's dresses. I would have liked to see Mondo win as I think he is probably the best designer this season. But I have to say that Michael winning had me cheering from the couch. And did you see the looks on Gretchen's, Ivy's and Andy's faces when he came in to say he won? Talk about the epitome of rudeness. Perhaps they should consider spending more time on their designs instead of deriding another designers. They might win a challenge then.

I bet that 99.9% of the "regular people" that viewed the dresses were regular reality show watchers, at least of Project Runway, but probably other shows, too. Everyone knows that these shows always have to have a "witch" or villian. I can definitely see one of the regular people asking Michael C (or anyone else) "hey, which one is the 'witch'?" and him nodding in Ivy's direction.

Okay, so I just found this thread and I've been watching season 8 since the beginning. Can someone please explain to me why most hate Michale C.? I don't get it. He's not mean to them or anything and he's now won twice so he must be doing something right despite their claims he can't sew. And I don't believe Michael C would have said anything mean about Ivy or they would have showed it.

Also, were Casanova and Peach the only ones that have not said anything negative about the other designers?

I think it started when he won the episode with the hats. Tim hated his original design and so Michael C started from scratch with little time left. About his second dress, Casonova said something to the effect of every cheap girl in Puerto Rico having a dress that looked like that...and then he won. I thought the win was undeserved and I guess the rest of the contestants did, too.

In the group challenge, he was supposed to make a top with a cowl neck and he couldn't get it to lay right, so they concluded that he "can't sew." (I think he just hadn't done a cowl before.

I cant imagine Mondo saying anything negative-he seems so sweet:)

I really enjoy listening to the designers backstage while they are waiting for the outcome-many backstab others:eek:

Yes, that's my favorite part of the new, longer format. Very insightful.

For all the whining, Ivy still has yet to make the top three. And I agreed with Heidi on Michael C's dress. The lace took it from trashy to classy. I'm so over Gretchen. I so want to see her trip in Lincoln Center at the finale.

I finally got to watch this episode today. I felt so sorry for Michael C when he went back and told them he won. Could they have been anymore hateful? Its like watching the mean girls pick on the nerd. While I wasn't crazy about his dress, I wanted him to win just to make them mad. Nina addressed the issue in her blog, but I really do miss the Bravo written blogs and am not feeling the love for the short video ones.

I do wish Mondo won, but Michael C's dress was fine.
Yuck for Valerie's dress. Losing my love for her fast. This season is interesting, but I really don't like many of them (pretty much just Mondo, and lately, Cassanova). The hatefulness is really just incredibly rude.

I had forgotten that-never have I seen the group say NOTHING to the winning designer-they are some meanies.:sad1:

Didn't Ivy say "Of course you did" in a very snotty tone when Michael said he won. I am not sure why she thinks she is so special. Has she even been in the top 3?

Hope you dont mind me joing the thread late.

What a witch Ivy is, if Michael C did call her that at the show, she deserved it after she trashed him on the runway and behind his back. But I dont buy it that Michael C called her that, if he did the producers would have had a field day showing us that.

I think Mondo should have won, but I did like Michael C's dress as well.

Gretchen and Ivy make me cringe.

Loved Tim's smackdown from the last episode too.

I think it was Gretchen who said that. I also could not believe how horrible they acted when he came in and said he won. If I was him I would have gone home. They are so mean.

He's getting the best revenge by winning. I loved it when Casanova pointed out that both Gretchen and Michael C. had now won 2 challenges - Gretchen looked ready to claw out his eyes.

Absolutely!! Go home? I'd just enjoy watching them cringe. It wouldn't bother me in the least! :woohoo:

I also agree that the producers are sticking it to Gretchen and her meanies by giving MC immunity.... DRAMA!! :thumbsup2

Interesting interview with Peach on projectrungay.blogspot.com where she talks about Michael C:

Alright, enough of that, let’s gossip. What is going on with this group this season? A.J. last night tweeted that Michael Costello was a "massive d***" and that he was acting for the cameras. Everyone hates him but he comes across as this little wounded lamb to us. What’s the deal with Michael Costello, Peach?
[Laughs] Michael Costello came onto the show, he even said this to us, because he wants his own reality show and he’s creating this character that you see. There were two sides of Michael Costello and one of them did not have the nicest language; not just curse words, subject matter too. I don’t know how to put it, but he is not the victim that they’re painting him to be.

We guess the producers decided to pick someone else as the villain, namely Gretchen.
Well, there were a couple of other villains and God bless them, go for it. They do have a couple of villains they get to have fun with because they did really set themselves up for what they’ve been portrayed as, but Michael Costello should not be pitied.

We didn’t understand why everybody was so nasty to him when he won last night.
Right. Well, he was someone who would be one way until he won and then he was not a gracious winner and that did not help.
