Print Spooler Help

Does anyone know how to fix the print spooler on computers? We bought a new printer and when we try to load the software and hook it to the computer it says Print Spooler Error 1053. I google it and have tried several things to fix it, and it just doesn't help. Thought I would give you guys a try before I call an IT guy!!

Did you uninstall or delete the old printer and any associated programs that came with the printer? If not, delete those and then try this. Click "Start" then "Printers and Faxes". On that screen click "File" then click on "Server Properties". On that screen click on the "Drivers" tab. Look for the driver from the old printer and, if still there, highlight it and delete it.

A quick search shows someone with the same problem having to reinstall their anti-virus. Sounds strange but he says it worked. (TrendMicro was the AV program)

I agree with Charade - I'd uninstall the drivers. Once done, I recommend that you go to the manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers. Make sure you reboot the PC after you uninstall the drivers and before you install the new ones you download.
