I am trying to bid on a hotel close to buffalo airport but how do you know if the parking is included?

thanks in advance I have never used priceline but I am hoping for a better rate then 119. seeing as we will only be there 6 hrs.

You don't and it may very well not be included. Generally the airport hotels have some type of "lowest" rate that includes parking and other rates don't. The airport hotel near me for example has both a $99 and $119 rate. The difference? No free parking for the $99 rate.

You don't. That's one of the "gotchas". The other is "resort fees". Since you can't pick your hotel, you never know until your bid is accepted. Then you can try to find out by searching for the hotel on other travel sites, or just be surprised when you check in.

If you're new to Priceline, make sure you visit BiddingForTravel.com, and read as much as you can there about tips and strategies.

thought there had to be a gotcha lol maybey I will just book it through hotel.

Anyone know of a decent hotel close to buf airport?

Our flight leaves at 6:25 am and we are from canada so that would mean we would have to leave by 2 am from home with a 3 and 5 year old:scared1:

If rack rate is $119 I'd try to get it for $35-$60 on priceline. Figure in $10-$15 parking and its still a good deal.

From my experience 3* and above hotels in a popular tourist area will charge for parking. Other areas or 2 1/2* will not charge.

Look at betterbidding.com or biddingfortravel.com. The forums there show recent winning bids so you get an idea of how much to bid and what hotel you may get.

Yes.

Look at the area you want, and see what past info people have for the hotels around there.

Thanks to betterbidding I was able to narrow down a Disneyland area hotel to one of two places. Then I could look on those sites to see what the parking fees would be.

However, have you checked hotels.com? I've been doing a lot of hotel-booking for hubby's business trips, and they tend to have nice rates.

WOW! Buffalo must have cheap parking! Where I live it's $10 to $15 a day. So for 7 days I would pay $70 plus the $35 to $60 you suggest bidding.... That seems to be higher then just paying the $119 the hotel wants! Or a minimal saving for having to get up and move the car etc....

The $119 rack rate would not include parking. Your choice is to pay $119 a night plus $10-$15 a night parking, or pay $35-$60 per night plus $10-$15 per niight for parking.

We went to Disneyland 12 times last year. Stayed at a 3-4* hotel every time and never paid more than $60 a night plus $15 parking, so $75 a night total. Most were much less than that. All of the hotels had rack rates of $100-$200 a night plus parking. Big fan of Priceline!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2516918&highlight=marriot+buffalo Check out that thread. The Marriot seems to be the only one in Buffalo that will truly let you park for "free". The rest all charge- it is very little more to park at the airport and then you don't have to wait for the hotel shuttle when you come home. The last time we went we used Priceline and got the Best Western Buffalo airport for I think it was $55 a night....then when we got there paid them for parking for the 2 weeks- I think we saved $10 total over parking at the airport- next time I am just parking at the airport for we always end up with long waits for the hotel shuttle at the airport. We have stayed at the Sleep Inn Buffalo airport hotel- I did not like that they parked us down the street in a lot that was not paved- it was a HUGE muddy mess with a snowbank we had to push our van out over when we came home so if it is important to you that you REALLY park at the hotel ask them. Best Western we were right in a row at the front of their lot on pavement.

Oh... my $119 includes parking and from the way the OP posted it looked like she was hoping to get the free parking.

If not then if the hotel has parking you could just pay as you suggest!

Sorry! (But I would shop around. Not sure about BUF but there are LOTS of airport hotels that will give you at least a few days of free parking with a paid stay.)

When I bid on priceline in an area known to charge for parking at some hotels I just figure in the parking as part of it. Sure $15 a night to park my car is absurd to me but if I can get a 3* or better hotel for $50 a night I don't care. $65/night total for a really nice hotel is a great deal. Only way I could afford to go to Disneyland so many times last year! Heck, Motel 6 is about the same price.

this may be true but I am parking and flying. 10 days of parking at 15$ a day is 150.00 plus the bid on priceline. room for one night with 14 days parking $119.00 it lo0ks like it may be better just to pay the 119.00 iit would have cost me 65$ roughly to park at the airport and the extra 55 is worth sleeping in for 3 hrs.

Thats true. At some airports there are park, stay and fly hotels. Stay one night and parking for the duration of your trip is free. Thats a good deal of hotel price is decent.

You want to park your car while your at WDW. The park n fly hotel rate is almost always at least a little more expensive then the lowest available rate.

The chances are near 100% you'll be charged for parking, at least for nights you're not staying at the hotel, even if that hotel offers park n fly.

Price park n fly rates. Price airport long tern parking. Price long term parking near the airport. That will give you an idea how low you'll need to bid with PL in order to get the total deal you want.

Some hotels won't let you park in their lot, even if you pay, for nights you're not staying at the hotel. Their lot is only big enough to accommodate the number of rooms they have.
