Not 100% sure if this is where this would go, so mods, please feel free to move if necessary.....
I want to say that I am not in any way judging anyone’s choices; I’m just interested in some different perspectives….. I couldn’t help but notice last week while at the world the number of very pregnant woman that I saw….Now, I am not pregnant, nor do I have any children at the moment, but I am curious as to what people think about this? I can only assume (again, I’ve never had a child) that you can’t really do much at WDW pregnant, so what do you do? Why would you go in that condition? Again, not trying to start anything, just curious.
Thank you!

That depends on the person, I think
I went with DD when I was 5 months preg with DS.
I also waitressed till about a month before I had him. It would have been right up until but I didn't want to risk not being able to come in one day due to labor. I don't think that would have been nice.
I did the same thing when I was pregnant with DD- right up until a couple weeks before. I only stopped working at 38 weeks because I got into a car accident and my boss was being a butt.
In a normal, uncomplicated pregnancy you can do anything anyone who isn't pregnant can do- you just move a little slower and more penguin like LMAO
If you're an active person (and by active, I don't mean much, getting off the couch every once and a while and lugging some laundy would qualify) pre-pregnancy, you can do all the same stuff during pregnancy.

Well, first I'd ask if they were just themselves (or just a couple) or with their families, because that explains part of the prego population - I wouldn't necessarily delay a vacation that I had planned for my older child as long as DH could go on the bumpy rides with her. (keep in mind many vacations are planned and paid for before you may know your new condition)

Also, I think there are a lot of things you can do; I'm not a roller coaster person, and so of the rides we went on last trip (not pregnant), the only ones I probably would miss out on would be teacups, and.... well safari at AK.... I really think that's all. There are still a LOT of rides and shows.

I went when I was 5 months pregnant and I didn't even have any other kids! It was just DH and I. Even when pregnant you can do most of the rides at Disney. The ones I couldn't do that DH wanted to (which ended up only being splash mtn and ToT) he got a FP for and I sat and ate ice cream (for the baby of course!) while he rode them. There are tons of shows and other attractions to enjoy at DW. It was one of our most enjoyable trips, and it was a chance for us to take in the Disney magic quietly at our own pace before we had kids.

My pregnancies were really easy and I went to WDW while 4 months pg with my second. (with my first, I worked until the day before I had her!) Anyway, I think it really depends on the mom. If she's feeling well and her doc isn't concerned about travel, she should go and enjoy the heck out of it! The only downer on my pregnant trip was my inability to have alcohol!

I think "why would someone go to WDW while pregnant" falls into the same category of "why would someone bring a baby/young child? or "why would someone go if they are elderly or disabled?" Everyone goes and enjoys to the best of their ability. WDW is so much fun, no matter your condition! :-)

I have been very pregnant 3 times at WDW, the only thing I couldn't do is drink alcohol and ride thrill rides (which I don't do anyway). Love WDW pregnant or sans fetus!!:thumbsup2

:lmao: I asked DH the same question when we were in the world last week. I saw these ladies that were well byond there 5th month. In fact there was one who looked like she might have her baby on the escalator. I worked up until pre term labor started with both DD's, I am also a labor nurse. I could not for the life of me figure out why anyone would want to do all that walking that far along.

That being said we went to seaworld when I was preg with 1st DD about 10 weeks. I got tired quick, hot and N&V. had to pee every five mins.

just my two cents thank for reading;)

I could have easily done disney with my first and most likely my second pregnancy but this last one....no way! I was so uncomfortable early on! Although I have a few friends that have done disney pregnant. My BFF just went last March for her birthday (she was also pregnant with her third) she said she would never do it again! I have another friend that went when she was pregnant (with her second) and was just fine. Every woman is different.

I went to WDW 4 months pregnant and loved it. There are only a few rides you can't go on (roller coasters, splash mountain, etc), but WDW is full of shows and activities that are fine for pregnant ladies. I rode Buzz Lightyear a few times while DH did Space Mountain, and that was fine with me!

Thanks so much for all the responses.... I understand that every pregnancy is different, I just can't tell you how surprised I was to see so many pregnant (VERY pregnant) women at WDW last week... I guess it just got me thinking...

There are more ways to enjoy Disney parks next to going on rides. My mom almost never goed on rides, because she is scared of them, she will only go on some of the black rides, POTC is the wildest thing she does.

Next to that, even I who loves the wilder rides, can spend 3 days at Disney without going on rides; when I'm at DLP, I just an't bother anymore waiting more than 15 minutes, so sometimes, I don't go on rides, but I enjoy parades, the atmosphere, people watching, music, shopping, eating, ...

Also, I have never been pregnant, but as far as I know, it's not a disease. There are women all over the world that have to work right up to labor (and right after), where their work is way "worse" than a day at Disney.
What do pregnant women have to do, they can't lock up in their house during their whole pregnancy, right?

:confused3

I leave for Disney in a couple of weeks & will be 28w pregnant & just at the beginning of my 3rd tri!! Should be interesting! I'm not a big ride fan & we will be down celebrating dd's 2nd birthday! As my dr. said at my appt last week "your life doesn't stand still when you are pregnant" So off we go!!! I currently am a store manager so I am used to being on my feet all day. I did buy a pair of my 1st crocs so hoping those work & are as comfortable as everyone says! I plan on taking it easy & having a fab trip!

I've been to WDW pregnant many times. It was fine for me. I did want to point out that even though some of the women looked ready to pop they might not have been. I carry very large. Front and back!:rotfl2: So at 7 months I too looked ready any day. :rotfl: Also many locals go for the day etc. I liked going pregnant. I didn't have to worry about looking chubby in shorts because, well, I was pregnant and I didn't care!:rotfl2:

I am a "local". I have gone to the parks at 8 months pregnant. I worked until the day before I had each of my daughters. So, a day of walking around the parks was no big deal. I was able to do all the rides my oldest daughter (who was almost 2) could do.

I've gone a few times while pregnant. Actually the last visit to WDW I was pregnant, which is why we haven't gone since but are gearing up to now.

Typically I do what I normally do with a few exceptions. I sit and rest in the shade while others ride the more thrilling rides, which I don't go on when not pregnant. Plus, I drink a lot more fluids. Typically a visit to Blizzard Beach is a must in which I float in the river - ahhh.

If a woman is normally active before being pregnant, walking the parks is no big deal. There are many women who jog and do workouts until they deliver. It just depends on the woman.

I don't think I ever said being pregnant was a disease, nor was I implying that a woman should be locked up at home while pregnant. I think I was simply asking people for their opinion.. Thanks though.

Count me in the "Why not?" group.. There is plenty to do for everyone, in any condition at WDW.. (pregnant, heavy, wheelchair, young, old..) I think that is one of the great things about Disney.

Some folks go as a last hurrah before having their first. Some folks go to take their older kids on a 'just for them' trip before the new baby is born.

We've gone to WDW and DL atleast 4 times since I've been pregnant - I'm 23 weeks now, and hoping to get in atleast 2 more trips before the 'no fly' time sets in at the end of April. I will admit, I miss going on Expedition Everest and Big Thunder Mountain, but they will be there when we go in the fall, with baby! I do go on Buzz Lightyear, POTC, TSM, Soarin', etc.. and we alternate rides and shows, and I take plenty of rests. We also have lots of friends in the area - so we go to hang out with them, mostly in the parks. Somedays, we just take it easy and go to DTD and see fireworks.

A friend told me about the horrified looks she got at the parks when she told folks she was a week overdue. She lives nearby and her husband works for Disney. What was she supposed to do, stay home?

..besides.. rumor has it if you can manage to give birth in the park, the kid will get a free AP for life! That's incentive enough!! :rotfl2:

I did both WDW and DLP last year while preganant an really enjoyed it! I did the long haul flight to WDW at 33 weeks!

For me as I had an easy pregancy it was no problem I might have walked a bit slower but it was a nice chance to take in all the details of the parks before returning with a little one in tow. :thumbsup2

I went at 32 weeks. There were several reasons. 1. ) I didn't want to wait 2 years before going to Disney again. 2.) The pay for 4 nights get 7 was going on (September of 2003) 3.) I wanted one more trip with DH before baby

I must say it was one of my favorite trips. We slowed down and really enjoyed the atmosphere. We went to a water park for the first time and LOVED it. Yes....I did have some minor discomfort....but honestly probably not much more than in my non-pregnant state.

Now we are trying for a second baby and financially probably won't make it to the world this year. I'm really bummed about that and would like to take DD on one more special trip before she gets a baby brother or sister (IF she gets a baby brother or sister). However really getting a handle on our debt and bettering the other 51 weeks of the year when we aren't at Disney needs to take priority right now. If it works out that we could fit one more trip in with DD but I would be pregnant at the time I would do it in a heartbeat (of course depending on what my doctor said, etc)
