Does anyone have one? Do they really stay lit year after year? I want to get a new artificial tree this year and Target has them on sale (I'm going tomorrow) and I am wondering if they are worth it?

TIA!

Jill

I've had my pre lit tree sense 2001 and haven't had a problem!! I love my fake tree!!

I've got one. I only paid like $150 for it...7 1/2ft. This will be year 5 I've put it up. Last year I noticed about 3 lights out but it has 1000 lights on it and the only reason I noticed was because when putting ornaments on I happened across them. When this one goes, I'll be getting another. Its been wonderful. Every year I was spending $50-$75 for a real tree and then after Christmas, I threw the darn lights out with it because they were such a pain and they were forever blowing. I think you'll be please. :thumbsup2

ETA: Here is my tree last year, not a great shot but I like it.

I have had my pre lit Christmas tree maybe about 5 years and the middle part of the tree's lights are all out on the tree this year. It drives me crazy as I was trying to find which ones need the new bulbs to get it all to work again. Also to plug it all together every year is sometimes more of a pain then anything, I am almost thinking on cutting all the lights out of it and just buy reg. lights and put them on every year( but I won't do this until next year if I do). I had extra set of lights, so I just put those on the tree this year. Don't get me wrong, they are nice( but just can be a pain at times). To be honest, if I every decide to by another Christmas tree I will not be getting a pre lit one again. I will just be buying a reg. fake Christmas tree.

I've had mine for 3 years, it was not expensive, around 200 for a 7 foot one and after the first year one whole branch is out at the bottom, it drives me nuts!! I have tried to find the bulb that is out but it is not working out for me!!

I got one last year in preparation for the new home we were going to move to. Not we aren't moving...and it's kinda of big for this condo. lol 7.5 ft. But it so pretty!! I looked around...and decided to go with the one at BJ's Wholesale. I think it was around $150, and I think it has 1000 lights. Looks very nice. It has the branches that look "downswept" -- leaning downwards, not straight out or up. It goes to the floor. :thumbsup2 And you can set it so of the 1000 lights, 50 of them will twinkle. I got white lights.

Now that I look back on this thread, it sounds alot like the one posted with the photo.

Thanks for the pic of your tree. It's quite lovely! DW and I are on the fence about buying one, but looking at yours might have just made the decision for us. Thanks! :)

P.S. Just curious (and I know this is off topic), but I'm dying to know... what does ETA stand for?

:teeth: Edited to add=ETA. I didn't have the picture in there in the beginning.

MY DH has one of these for our lights and SWEARS by it! www.lightkeeperpro.com We picked it up at our local garden center/Christmas shop for $19.99. I swear the man prays for a light to go out!!

I LOVE having a pre-lit tree. I believe this will be year 6 of ours. So far no problems with the lights at all. Here is a pictures of ours last year:

Now if I could find a pre-lit, pre-decorated one that opened and shut like an umbrella...like they show in the cartoons! Now that would be perfect! I LOVE christmas, I just hate fussing with decorations.

Going on our 4th year with a prelit. No problems so far. Love them. We always add more light strings too. :)

We have one and it looks so real...everyone always comments on it. I think fake is so much easier to have...and you can have it up longer..and not worry about it drying out or anything.

I've had mine for three years and really like it. It is kind of a pain to plug them all in. I have two of the net-lights that I just wrap around it to add extra lights. I like it bright because I have a ton of ornaments. I may need to do two trees this year so I can avoid another crash!

We've had ours for two years. The first year was obviously great, the second we had whole strands of lights out. DH had remembered that we had an ornament that plugged into a light socket and that must be why they weren't lighting. We found it and alas, still didn't work. So we ended up throwing an extra set of lights on it. Needless to say, I wasn't too thrilled that we only got one good year out of it.

No Problems with the Pre Light here! :cheer2:

FYI! We have many Hallmark light/moveable ornaments that plug into the light sockets! So I just throw a extra set or two of the cheap 99cent lights set on, just to plug these ornaments in! Then just thrown the extra light sets out every year.

Much easier then replacning those bulbs! :thumbsup2
