I am living through everyone shopping today. :goodvibes I have to work until 1pm today and will try to hit a few places after that. My DH works for Staples and for the first time ever...there was a tent out front of his store! :rotfl:

So....what did everyone get!!! :) :)

Am about to drive to the other side of the island to wait in line at Circuit City for a laptop. Mine's about to die.

stood in line at best buy to get a 50 inch toahiba plasma hdtv for $1699. I was up at 3. that is nothing though - the lady #1 in line had been there since 3pm thanksgiving day - that is nuts.

Did a camera and some Memory cards yesterday on-line at Circut city.

The I was at Staples at 6:00am to get some of their Doorbusters ( Monitor ,Wireless Keyboard and 1 Gb Thumb drive). They only had 4 of the GPS units and they went quick to people that were there at 4:00am to get the TVs as well.

I should have called one of my contacts at another Staples but no big deal as I have to get to work now.

DW went in the opposite direction with DD to hit the mall.

I just got back from Staples and breakfast! We picked up the $399 laptop which I of course had to test out and where better than the DISboards :) We also got the external 400 gig hard drives for $99, the wireless router for $20, the dvd writables for $3, and the 1 gig memory sticks. Yay! I was really shocked as we were there before 3:30 am and those lines were longer than I ever recall them at Staples. Although we were able to get all we were going for plus we had the option at many other items that we were not interested in.

Well at Walmart-I got the 40.00 gaming chair & the 25.00 coffee pot (for myself). At Best Buy-I just got 4 movies & 2 video games; stood in line for 45 minutes here but it was fun watching everyone else go nuts over stuff. There was nothing that I had to have. Just a few things I wanted. But-I'm done Christmas shopping!!! :cool1: Now-getting ready to take kids to mall to see Santa. :yay:

I got the $98 Kodak camera and the $7.97 memory card at Target. I lost one of my favorite gloves in the sprint to electronics though! I consoled myself with almost free slipper socks at Boston Store after using my $10 off a purchase of $10 or more card. :thumbsup2

Target:

1st four HP DVDs
Rent DVD
The Notebook DVD
Batman Begins DVD

Wal-Mart

1.88 DVD(the tennis romantic comedy)

All for me!

I stood and watched the crazy rule breakers surge the door to WalMart, while those that waited patiently in line were out of luck - I was shocked and amazed... the only thing I was thinking of buying was the $1.88 movies (Hulk) and so I went to Sam's Club for free breakfast, checked their prices, and went back to Walmart at 6am - got the movies, no line.

Oh went to Kohls while I waited for Sam's, bought Hannakuh candles, and Disney Scene it - no line (Someone must've put it down, if there was a line I wouldnt have bought it $19.99 wasnt that great of a deal!)

Went to Target, found the idog for $17, and got the $3.98 movies, Mother-in-Law, March of the Penguins... MI3 was $8.88 but those movies and idogs will be back for those prices I'll bet, when its much less hectic!!

imho, the media hype is horrendous, there really wasnt any deal in my "need" or "must have" list... everything was available online with free shipping!!

Philosphy at Sephora for 20% is a better deal - (code FF2006)

wal-mart by us was open before 5 am, but not actually selling yet. there was a HUGE line in electronics plus a few hundred others milling about. what i wanted was already off the shelves. the employees seemed few and far between, i think there were more police there!

so we went to target where there was an orderly line and the starbucks folks from inside brought us out sample lattes! target also sent people outside to talk to the crowd, assure them that there was plenty of merchandise, especially the advertised stuff. they let the line in slowly and would not allow line cutters. very well done! kudos to TARGET!

My son went to Circuit City to get the 32" Olevia LCD TV for $499 but saw the line and came back home. I found it thru an e-store via Price Grabber for a promo of $529 plus free shipping..no tax...so I saved money buying it online and it's next day delivery. Since I used my Visa Signature card for the purchase, he now has an extra year's warranty for free. Sigh...glad I didn't get up early. ---Kathy

We got lots of fun stuff, but the best was what we waited in line from 0245 in the freezing cold for, and got the last one! :cool1:

We got the Panasonic MiniDV Digital Camcorder for $159 from Best Buy, originally $330! (We didn't freeze just for that, we got lots of other good deals for other gifts)

Is Rent on sale today at Target? Is it fullscreen? They had it on sale two weeks ago, but I wanted WS. I noticed Circuit City has it on sale too today, but I don't know if it's WS or FS.

Thanks!

Got a $299 Frigidaire built-in dishwasher for $122 at Best Buy. Got there around 7 and had no wait. Guess no one wants to buy appliances on BF.

Well I got to go out afterall. I stopped at The Gap on my way into work. It opened at 8am! I got:

1 turtleneck sweater for me
1 turtleneck for me
1 jacket for DS
3 pairs of boxers for DS
3 pairs of boxers for DH
1 sweater for DH
1 sweater for DS
2 shirt/sweater type things for DH

It all came to $190.00. Everything was 30% off, even on sale! :)

Ritz Camera--2 digital cameras (got a free coat)
Best Buy--online shopping--memory cards for cameras
Sears--tool for dh
Misc--20% off at Disney Store, Macy's picture frames nearly free with $10 certificate I got in the mail, misc. Boscovs deals.

I wanted to shop at Penneys, but the lines were way, way, way too long. I did get the free Mickey snowglobe!

Well, we were up and out of the house before 6:30 a.m. Went to Kohl's -- what a ZOO!!!!!!!!! But they had the boots I wanted so I waited in line for 45 minutes and got:

Boots - regular price $59.99 for $16.99
Really nice Isotoner gloves - reg. $22.00 for $9.99
Fuzzy slipper socks - reg. $8.00 for $3.20
Dress shirt for dh - reg. $30.00 for $12.00
Set of 2 crank flashlights - reg. $29.99 for $12.99
Set of socks - reg. $9.00 for $5.40

So .... spent $64.20, but saved $104.32 over regular prices!!!

While I was in line at Kohl's (and ds was half-asleep against the wall of the store, LOL!), dh slipped away to GameStop to get ds a GameCube game he's been wanting for 50% off. At Sears, we picked up a bunch of Craftsman goodies for dh and his sister for $9.99 each at the Earlybird sale.

When dh and I were at WDW last month, he picked a pearl for me at Downtown Disney and had it set in a pretty pendant for an anniversary gift. We stopped by Corey's and got a really nice gold box chain for it for about $85. They had 50% off plus an add'l 20% off. :thumbsup2

And my last goodie was at Walgreen's -- they had the 50 oz. bottles of Tide for $1.99. I bought a bunch last year, and we stopped and picked up several bottles again -- those'll last me a good long time! :goodvibes

Wow - kudos to you all. I was sleeping until about 7:45 a.m.

I'm racking up more sleeping hours than you all, but it looks like a lot less money in my bank account! :rotfl:

Since i have to work today I debated over going out to any of the sales. There was nothing I had to have, but some deals that I probably wouldn't see again.

I headed out to Target at 7am, giving me about 45 minutes to shop before going to work. I managed to find a parking space and the store was a mob scene of folks already waiting to checkout. There were three lines formed from the registers to the back of the store, plus those who figured out they could bypass those lines and go directly to the checkouts in the middle lanes with shorter waits.

I found the five DVD's I wanted in just a few minutes. I was about to get in one of the Express lanes, but didn't want to aggravate anyone who may have been patiently waiting in that longest line, so I went to the jewelry counter to pay. I was actually out of the store in about 30 minutes with my DVD's and spent less than $35.

Target was very unorganized for checking out. The girls dept was pushed to half its usual pad to make room for lines and guest traffic, but there were those three long lines. If I'd had the day off I would have take a little longer to browse, but I went with my list and got out of there.

I tried Best Buy for the a couple of sales that were only on through noon. It was no problem getting them in my hands, but I waited in line for 25 minutes and when I couldn't wait any longer I had to put them back on get to work.

Best Buy was very busy, but organized. They taped/roped off aisles and made a definitive single line for all customers to check out. It was moving quickly, just not fast enough for my schedule. Wish I'd have had the time to wait, but I guess it wasn't meant to be.
