Post Waitlist... Any successes?

Well, my waitlist came and went and we are less than 5 days away from going. Has anyone ever had success calling after a waitlist had expired?
My itinerary reminder:
16 - GV
17-1br/2br (GV waitlisted)
18-22 GV

So we won't be on the street, but we will have to move twice.


And on a side note, why doesn't MS tell anyone what place they are on the waitlist? I know their system doesn't tell them but, it would be nice to know. Sort of like when you get waitlisted for college courses, you know that if you are less than five, you should wait, otherwise, find other times/courses.

Probably because the wait list in most cases is somewhat complicated. It's not as as simple as 10 people wanting a single night like 10 students waiting to get into a single course.

As an example, someone else is waitlisted for the same night as you, but is also waitlisted for the night before too. They are number one on the list. But only the one night opens up and it's the one you want and not both they want. So you move to the top of the list. The waitlist has to be very complicated with many people requesting many series of nights. The computer is probably the only thing that can figure it out.
