Post pics of your bag you carry into park

This is the bag I ordered and received awhile ago.

http://www.ebags.com/sherpani/vida/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=82452

As promised, here is my review.
I took it on vaca last week and used it 24/7 except when on the beach.
Pros: I loved it. :thumbsup2 Great pockets to seperate items, useful attatched wallet inside for xtra $, durable, really pretty, plenty of room.
Cons: having to take it off each time I needed my wallet or phone, didn't always feel safe with the opening being in the back in crowds of people.

Aside from that I give it a thumbs up :thumbsup2 and would highly recommend it. My mom liked it so much I ordered one for her.

OMG why do I have to find SO many bags I would like?? :confused3 - do you suffer from this same problem??

I am convinced of what I want to buy...then I see another that catches my eye... grrrr... I wish I could be more decisive. I guess it wouldnt make sense to buy 3 or 4 bags for 1 trip to Disney? :rotfl2:

I have the slightly larger version of that bag. http://www.ebags.com/baggallini/wallet_bagg_large_rip_stop_nylon/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=18642

Even with the larger version, it just doesn't hold much because of the way it is made. Unless you're planning on carrying next to nothing, I wouldn't recommend the one I have...much less the smaller one.

Since I've ordered practically every bag mentioned in this thread and have finally now tried them all out, I thought I'd offer a few more thoughts in case it helps someone. Unfortunately for my wallet though, since I recently decided the only way to know if a bag will work for Disney is by using it, I've now eliminated my ability to return many of them. In any event, for now, after receving dozens of bags and after a lot of experimenting, I've decided to bring the REI Nikole day bag and the Ameribag Healthy back bag in a a size small, along with a cheap drawstring nylon Reebok bag that actually has two outside pockets that fit a water bottle (got it at Target) -- and I'll see which one works best for me while I'm actually in the parks. (Keep in mind I'll be keeping a big backpack in the stroller with my supplies, so this is just for my valuables and necessities while on line and on the rides).

Requirements for my bag:
#1: comfortable!!!
outside pocket for at least one water bottle
outside zipered comparment for small wallet
ability to wear cross body, and can be pushed to the back or be worn by my hip
lightweight and water resistant, wipeable
big enough for: two water bottles, cell phone, digital camera, mini camcorder, mini anti bacterial travel wipes, two snack bars, sunglasses (while inside on rides), tiny pouch of essentials with travel size sunscreen, extra pair of contacts, and various small items ... plus I'd like it to be able to accomodate a few extra items in case I find myself needing them (I don't want it to be too tight a fit).

I already owned the Overland Equipment Placer and Donner before reading this thread and have used both bags many times -- the Placer is too small for me to fit the above listed stuff, so while it's a very well organized little bag, it's just too small for my needs. And with no place to put a water bottle and a four year old who drinks a LOT of water on a normal day, it won't work.

As for the Donner, honestly, I've never really liked the bag. For me, it's feels too stiff, and with a water bottle in each side, there's not much room in the center of the bag -- plus I find it difficult to get the water bottles out of the side pockets for some reason. When packed, the strap is very uncomfortable for me and the bag feels a LOT heavier than I think it should for a bag that size. I know there are many fans of both the Donner and Placer, so this is just my opinion.

After really using the Baggallini messenger over the last two weeks, I am really disappointed to find that it felt like "too much bag" for me to wear in the hot sun -- it has a bulky feel to it, maybe because of the wide strap, I'm not sure. I found it very difficult to access the compartments while wearing it -- I was constantly taking it off in order to get anything out, which to me, defeats the whole purpose of wearing a sling bag versus a regular backpack.

On the other hand, the Ameribag Healthy back bag (Small) was actually very light feeling, didn't slip off my shoulder, was easy to swing around to get things out, it can be worn on either a shoulder (a plus for a right handed person since many of the bags have you getting things out of a sling bag with your left hand), and I found the outside pockets very useful. The XS would be a fine size to fit everything I list above, but I want to be able to use the bag for more than just Disney, and the Small accomdates the additional items I'd normally bring along, without really being that much bigger than the XS (I ordered both to compare).

The REI Nikole backpack does not have a great front outside pocket (it's shape allows things to spill out if you're not careful), but I love the option of being to wear it either sling or backpack style, plus it's very comfy to wear and has a great bottle pocket and a back zippered compartment for safety. I'm bringing it in case I end up not liking wearing the Ameribag sling all day since I've never worn a sling bag style before for any length of time.

I also tried a waist pack, the Jansport Coltrane, that I thought I'd love, but unfortunately, with what I want to carry, it won't work. When packed, I couldn't sit down comfortably, and the bag tipped forward while walking. While I LOVE being hands free, I know I will not be comfortable wearing it while sitting. I'd love to find a waist pack big enough to accomodate my stuff that doesn't bother me while sitting, but I don't think it's possible with the amount of stuff I need. I do wear a great Kipling waist pack while at museums and traveling, but it doesn't have a water bottle pocket (and won't fit one inside). I have two other waist packs with water bottle pockets, but they don't have enough room for the things I need to carry with me.

I'm curious about the Travelon expandable messenger, but I had gotten a Travelon sling backpack in the microfiber and didn't like the material.

Anyway, HTH someone! I keep reading hoping to find new bags to try, but it seems we're all trying the same ones!

****Edited to add: After reading through a few more posts, I just ordered the following waist packs so I can comment once I recieve them. I'd love for one of them to work because I don't want to feel weighed down by my bag:

After much thought, I purchased the Vera Bradley Hipster for our trip to DW. The reason I purchased this bag is because I carry the Sherpani Switch and I love this bag - it is my everyday bag. There are two things I dislike about it (the Sherpani), one is that the strap bothers my neck, and the other is that it is just a hair too small for everthing I carry on a daily basis. :confused3

I wanted a bag that had a fabric strap, also I wanted a bag deep enough to fit a water bottle. Vera Bradley's Hipster fit the bill - plus I loved all the available prints! :thumbsup2

So, I recieved this bag yesterday (I also ordered some of the matching accessories - the coin purse, hard sunglasses case, and checkbook cover)... It carried very well all day, the strap was very comfy, the pockets were very easy to access, I recieved many compliments on it (Appearantly, Vera isn't all that well known in MN?) and everyone wanted to know where I got it. I also loved all the matching accessories - I could fit everything and more into this bag and it was very comfortable, girly, and something I would definately use on a daily basis (I must say that I am loving Vera). :woohoo:

However, I do have one complaint about this bag... As mentioned above, I purchased a few accessories to go with the bag... The interior is the same print as the exterior - which means it is the same print as the accessories - can you say camoflaged? :confused3 Your eyes really need to be able to focus on what is in your bag - as I "lost" my ID/coin purse several times yesterday. Don't get me wrong, I love the accessories - I don't know if this is the case with all of the prints, or just the one I purchased (capri blue), but I would really like the bags to have a different print on the interior, so I am able to find the accessories a little easier.

I wish I could post a photo, but my post count is still too low (anyone know when that goes away?)

As I mentioned earlier I too used the hipster in the parks on my trip a few weeks back. I loved it. I purchased it before they came out with the newer model but I think this model worked out better. I carried a tiny purell, tiny sunscreen, my hard glasses case, a plastic bag filled with baby wipes (for cleanup before sit down dinners), spf chap stick, a small brush, and a hard case pill box/first aid kit (about the size of a plastic travel soap dish). All of these things fit in the big inside pocket and were nicely organized with the little inside open pockets it has. I could also fit my (rather bulky) camera in the bag but a lot of the times I'd hook it to one of the straps (it had velcro for wearing on a belt). I also fit my wallet and cell phone in the outside front zipper pocket which was nice because I had easy access to my tiny wallet for when I needed to get fastpasses or pay for something. Lastly, the little open flap it has in the front was perfect for holding park maps and time guides so I didn't have to go digging for them when I needed them. I defiantly recommend this bag.

I have the mod blue floral and it's also the same pattern on the inside as on the outside. It's an old one, so I don't know if the two styles are different.

I think you only need 10 posts to be able to post a picture, so you should be able to.

OK, I'm joining the cult. Where is the best place online to buy Vera Bradley bags? Anyone know of a good site or any good coupon codes?

After reading all the rave reviews I've decided to get a Hipster, Zip ID Case and the All-In-One Wristlet.

Where should I get them?

I got my Vera Bradley bags from ebags.com. You'll probably find the hipster and wristlet there but I've never seen the id cases on that site. The purse and wristlet will be discounted on ebags so you might want to order them there and then shop around for the id case. I picked mine up in a luggage shop in a nearby mall. Often ebags has free shipping too so it may be worth it for you to buy them separate.

Can you tell me if the interior of your bag (the big zippered portion) is the same print as the exterior of your bag? Possibly even post a photo of the interior? It would make a huge difference as to which bag I choose to buy (newer or older version of the Daisy daisy hipster). I would really appreciate it....

I believe the interior is the same as the exterior. I didn't buy any of the matching accessories but it was pretty easy for me to find everything. I'll try and take a picture later and post it on here.

Thanks... I already ordered the exact same bag as you have... I just really liked it too much... so you don't need to go through the trouble of posting the photo - unless you really want to.

I am sad to hear that the interior may be the same as the exterior - I guess VB won't be getting any of my hard earned cash for the accessories. :confused3 I'll have to find those elsewhere.

i think you're really going to like this bag. I wasn't going to get the daisy print at first but looking back at my pictures i'm really glad I did. It really was perfect for the parks. Didn't feel heavy really at all and if it started to my fiance would help carry it for a little bit. ;) He really is wonderful. You'll have to let me know how you end up liking it.

LOVE THIS BAG! :thumbsup2 I was looking for something small, cross body that would fit my medium point and shoot Sony, sunglasses, etc. I love how this one protects your camera so you don't have to take it in and out of a camera bag but it's not bouncing around you purse! Thanks for sharing...this is a definite maybe for our next trip! :goodvibes

Please let us know how it works in January, I will be going in December of 09!:cool1:
Well, I went on a dress rehearsal with my Crumpler camera bagthis weekend, first downtown then tonight at a wedding. Not so much downtown, but at the wedding I used the camera a lot and kept it mainly around my neck. When it came time to eat, I put my camera back with my keys and sunglasses resting on top then closed the flap. Next thing I knew, my glasses had slipped out! The bag wasn't closed tightly enough because I didn't want to mess up the glasses. Thankfully, I found them -- moral of the story is - that bag doesn't hold that much! It was full after I put in the camera, my car keys, cell phone, lipstick [side pocket] and gum [front pocket]. Hmmm.....that is a pretty comprehensive list of stuff! Poor little bag!

I'm not sure about going up a size, though -- if it were any larger it might be too bulky. I really like that I don't feel overwhelmed by its size or obligated to take everything + the kitchen sink with me everywhere I go.

I'll keep experimenting! And maybe try to remember either not to take my sunglasses or keep them on top of my head if I don't have my camera out.

Yup, your daisy hipster photos cinched the deal for me - I really liked the daisy daisy print before, but I loved how it photographed... Unfortunately, the scheduled delivery date isn't until 9/8, so I"m going to have to wait a while to see how I like it. I really don't think I'll be able to convince DH to help carry it in the parks - he is a great guy and all - but he is a military man and I think that the daisy print would really be a lot to ask. :rotfl2:

I must say, that I love how my capri blue hipster carries - it is the most comfortable bag I have ever had... so I can only imagine that the daisy hipster will carry the same... Not to mention, it really is the perfect size!

Both Ebags and shoebuy are having a 20% off sale for labor day right now. I just ordered a Baggallini messenger in dark plum. I hope I like it!!

I just got my first Vera Bradley bag. Here is it!

109405_7_1

I bought it at a local store for 50% off because it is last year's model.

I own one of these, and I have to agree with a pp who said this is too small and doesn't hold a lot. I thought I would use it at WDW when I didn't need to carry a larger bag, but I ended up never using it. I also don't like that when worn so it hangs as shown on the model, it means the pockets inside are sideways, and it's awkward (IMO) to open it up to get things out of it. Just not as thrilled w/it as I had hoped to be.

We were there the first week of August. This is the bag I ended up taking and it worked perfectly.

http://www.getabag.com/content-product_info/product_id-2130/ripstop_poly_mini_day_pack.html

I probably purchased 7 or 8 bags before I found this one. It is similar to the Derek Alexander and the Piazza Day bag but slightly smaller and it is made from what they called rip stop but it is much more like canvas. It was absolutely perfect. The little zipper on the front held our cards (tickets). The side zipper pocket there on the front held my camera. The little pocket under the front flap held sunscreen, chapstick and gum and the big zip pocket on top held snacks. One side pocket was for water and the other for the phone. We put our Disney pins on the front flap too instead of wearing a lanyard. Great bag and the price can't be beat. DH liked it so much he said pack this in the suitcase so we'll know right where it is for the next trip.:woohoo:

I have the Baggallini Small Wallet bag and carried during our whole trip at Disney 2 weeks ago. I was able to fit cash, cards, camera, cell phone, chapstick and one one occasion my sons cell phone and wallet as well (those 2 extras did make for a tight fit but did work). I had actually purchased a Heys TravelMate and a VB Hipster but fell in love with the Baggallini. Mind you tho ... we also had a backpack along that was being used as a diaper bag. I do love my VB Hipster but there was no way it was going to survive Tropical Storm Fay.
