At what point is 2 UY worth it?

For myself, even if I had some travels at the end of my UY, it wouldn’t trigger me to juggle another membership.

Only time it could happen is if I bought a restricted resale resort contract. Wouldn’t matter with that different membership UY only able to be used at the single location. Those and my other points wouldn’t be in play for a transfer. (However it would never happen if I already had any direct points to that resort).

I’m a one UY, single membership vacationer.

2 use years if it means getting a contract you couldn't otherwise get. This is how I ended up with 2 UY's. My AUL sub and VGC contracts were the reason I got a 2nd UY.

2 UY is confusing, but not as confusing as multiple contracts within the same UY imo.
2 UY can be a hassle if you need points from both of them since transfers are now limited to 1 time per year and not reversible.

Does anyone know if it goes by 1 transfer per calendar year or is it 1 transfer within one of the use years?

It made sense for us in the sense that we don't really like to combine points with our different contracts; not to mention we're always booking at the 11 month window anyway, so we basically so far have stuck with staying at our home resorts with said home resorts points (which we will always have to for our resale Riviera, anyway).

Also, we sort of wanted a different UY because we weren't exactly sure if we'd hold onto our Beach Club contract until the end, so I wanted another UY I could potentially transfer those Beach Club points into in order to sell the contract stripped.

Perhaps the biggest factor though, is that the contract we found (and had been looking for a good deal specifically at Polynesian for about a year) was sort of just too good to pass up so we jumped on it.

Love multiple UYs. I’d feel too restricted if a relative wanted to go to Disney with my family in a certain month and I had to say “sorry that’s beyond my banking window.”
