Post pics of your bag you carry into park

i've used my travelon messenger bag for 3 yrs. at the world and my mom took it on a cruise i got it on QVC for $29 it's black(unisex) and made of microfiber so it can be wiped off easily.the bag is 10 in. w x 11 in.h x 3 1/2 in. thick(empty)can expand to 9in. thick!! i'm trying to find a picture of it right now but if not i'll try to explain:
long adjustable straps can be worn in front,on hip,or in back.
magnetic closeures on front(two mag. buttons snaps very tight!)
large zipper on front flap.
large mesh zipper pocket on inside flap.
2 clear id pockets(i use 1 for park tickets to keep em' handy)
mesh pocket for cell large compartment with zippered expansion for more room.)
smaller compartment behind that one
large zipper compartment on back

i know a photo would better and i just took some but don;t know how to upload them.

HELP!!:confused3

anyway i was able to pack everything in this bag(for myself DH,,2 DD's) including small camcorder and digital camera

Is this it Travelon Messenger?

Nice looking bag and great color choices. :)

I have that travelon and I like it alot,:thumbsup2 you can fit a ton of stuff in it and then you know where everything is.

This is the Travelon that I used - I like it better for the parks (I have the one mentioned above as well) - since it does not have the flap to open it....just a zipper on top. I find that easier and quicker - not having to deal with the flap...and not having to worry about the magnet having an effect on any of my cards. It's expandable as well...and made of microfiber.

I just got back and used my Vera Bradley Hipster for the whole trip. It was perfect...For the most part it was lightweight, It fit everything I needed, I loved having the little open pocket in the front to fit park maps in so I didn't have to go digging for them all the time and also it was great for on rides. I would just tighten the strap and tuck it next to me or put it on my lap for less extreme rides. I definitely recommend it for people who don't need to carry much but need a good bag.

I really want to order the Travelon Slim Messenger for my upcoming WDW trip...anyone have any discount codes for ebags or bagsbuy???

Thanks so much...I'm going shopping. DH said I couldn't buy any more Teva sandals...since I accrued 7 pairs for me and 3 pairs for him and 2 pair for my son in the last 6 weeks. (They keep send me awesome discount codes:confused3 ) But he never said anything about ordering another bag. I have the baggillinni....do you think the Travelon slim messenger will work better for Disney????

Thanks again for the codes....I bookmarked the website these came from.:thumbsup2

This is the bag I used last time I went to WDW and will probably use again next time because it was really convienient for me to just slide the pack around to the front or the side when I needed something and it has a lot of room in it for essentials and my passporter. It was really comfortable too.

That is my bag as well, except it's blue, and kind of dirty looking. I really want a vera bradley hipster, but my birthday is after Disney.

It depends on how much you plan on carrying in the parks. I looked at the baggillinni - and I found it too big for what I wanted to carry in the parks. So, if you're looking to 'trim' down the amount of items you're carrying in the parks - I found the travelon slim messenger to work out great! - I wore it on across the front and never had to bother with it when getting on rides, etc.

But, do pay attention to the dimensions - I think if you're used to filling up a baggallini - you'll find that the slim messenger will not hold that much.

I love the Travelon slim messenger - but, I did upgrade to a slightly larger bag for the upcoming trip - I bought the "Derek Alexander Leather" north/south zip top bag:
http://www.ebags.com/derek_alexande...er_bag/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=83720

This bag is slightly larger than the slim line Travelon...I think it will work great for what I need to carry this up coming trip. (I plan on adding a velcro strip to the strap to attach a bottle holder I found at Target...so it will be ideal!)

So, really it all depends on how much you need to carry into the parks.

Here's a picture of another Dis'er wearing the slim-line travelon - just so you can determine if it will be big enough for you...

Can I tell y'all just how much I've loved this thread? Who knew that pictures of bags could be so entertaining! :goodvibes

And, I'm almost ready to buy one of each!

In anticipation for my January trip, I did buy a new digital camera - a little larger than my teeny-tiny point-and-shoot. And, of course, I had to find a cute camera bag to put it in ;). This is what I got:

http://www.ebags.com/crumpler/the_2_million_dollar_home/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=106997

It's pretty cute! My rationale for getting one this size was that I could safely carry my camera in it but include other things as well [cell phone, keys, etc]. To be honest, it's a tight squeeze - not so tight that I wish I had a larger one, but tight enough for me to rethink all that I might take into the park. There are lots of pockets to stash things in. And I have until January to think about it!

sorry. i don't have a pic but the easiest are the clear backpacks! the security guards love them which means quick check ins and they are much easier to find stuff in because you can see everything

hi there, i am always looking for the "perfect" bag...well, i think i have found it...in 06 we used my baggalini which we really liked on our DL trip...in 07, we used my heys, which unfortunately didnt make it home as it started to tear and went in the garbage...we then went back to the baggalini...someone on the dis posted a link to this bag, which i bought and love, so much so that it has become my everyday bag...what i can fit in here is incredible and it doesnt bulk up...it is also comfortable to lug around...

I did notice in the reviews that quite a few people have used this on their disney trips, unfortunately i wont get to test mine til 09 :confused3 ...i have it in the willow(which is more limey) but have it coming in black in about a week....

I just tried it and it does fit. However, on the actual water bottle side, there is a mesh holder that holds the bottle in very well. On the ipod side, there is a holder, but it doesn't come up as high as the mesh one on the other side, so it makes the bottle much less stable. I hope that makes sense. We always just share one bottle and get it refilled as necessary. Carrying more than one gets too heavy for me.

Thanks for comments on the Piazza bag - I have been eyeing this one for a while. The reviews are good on ebags. I am looking for a smaller bag for our upcoming WDW trip and the water bottle holder and MP3 player holder put this one on the top of my list. I do not like anything with lots of slots for credit cards because I usually still carry my wallet. Last trip we took 2 sling diaper bags but we are paring back with only one in diapers this time. Will I be able to still fit a couple of diapers and a travel wipes container in this one? I am really bad with estimating size, even with the measurements. I don't carry a whole lot - with a few diapers and the wipes container I will also probably have the wallet, ponchos, water bottle, crystal lite packets, glow sticks, very small pocket camera, and maybe our Hidden Mickey book...will this comfortably carry this stuff? Thanks so much for any help!

All the other stuff will probably fit, but I can't help you with the diapers...I really have no idea about the size of them. I would imagine a soft sided thing of wipes would probably fit, but again, I have no idea the size of that stuff since I don't have any kids around me.

I love this thread and have decided to give the baggallini a try. I just went to shoebuy.com this morning and they are having a 20% off sale "today only" just use the coupon code school2008. I also used google checkout and received another $5 off! WOO HOO!!:cheer2:

For all our past trips we've used a fanny pack, but by the end of the trip I'm sick of it, plus I could use a little more room.

The Heys USA Travelmate came in the mail on Friday. I like it...I don't love it.

It's a good size, and it certainly has lots of pockets...and the water bottle mesh on the side is a plus...but I HATE the flap! It feels like everytime I want to get anything out of it, I have to go through all these extra steps.

I think I might exchange it for the Travelon Slim-Line and see how that goes.

I also found an old Eddie Bauer messenger style bag that we've been using to hold extra cords for our travel-size DVD player, but it, too, has a flap, which might take it out of the running.

Hope these pictures help... (and let me tell ya, I HATE pix of myself but for the greater DIS good...)

I have a baggallini (sp?) messenger. Got it on clearance @ REI online.

I don't like purses - I have a healthy back bag from L.L. Bean and I hate it. (gasp!) I'm a "money and license in the back pocket" kind of gal. But we knew we'd need something for a water bottle, tickets, car keys, sunscreen, etc. LOVE the messenger bagg! okay....

Here's a shot showing the bag's regular position for the week:

I just realized the bag is almost the same color as my shirt, but you can see it. I'm not a petite person (ahem), but this bag was very comfortable. I've seen other people mention (on other boards) that they found the strap too short, but it's actually very adjustable. There are two slide buckles to adjust, making the strap REALLY long. You could also shorten the straps and wear it over one shoulder like a purse; mine slid off a bit, but I'd do it if we were going in and out (like from car to restaurant, etc).

This picture doesn't show the bag too much, except for one VERY important feature:

img027.jpg

Okay... I don't tell just anyone to stare here, but you see that strap going, um, between "the girls" ? THERE is a zipper pocket that hides in the strap. The company says it's for a cell phone, but my cell is a flip phone and didn't fit. However, we kept all our tickets RIGHT THERE the whole week. Believe me when I tell you I had NO WORRIES about someone trying to steal our tickets (I would LIKELY notice :) ) Also, I didn't worry about the tix falling out of a pocket, or falling out if we took something out of the bag.

Last picture (sorry so long here) - and please DO NOT mention to DH that I'm posting this, but it's proof that a guy MAY wear it:

HPIM0321.jpg

You can also see the strap against your neck - I actually didn't mind too much - I found my camera strap hurt - but this strap was smooth enough. Although toward the end of the day, I preferred to tuck a shirt collar underneath, as he is NOT demonstrating here.

Hope this helps!

Hey lindsmom, your wonderful pics and colorful descriptions helped me decide on the Baggallini Messenger! I ordered one in RED, my favorite color. Thanks for your pics!
