Been lurking here for months and months and I just had to share - our magic bands are arriving tonight and we just got an email today from our TA that our Mickey Mail is in. Best day ever!! We cannot wait for POR, only 29 more days. :)

Welcome!! Have a great trip xx

Quick question. I found POR's street address on portorleans.org
Disneys Port Orleans Resort Riverside
1251 Riverside Drive
Lake Buena Vista
Florida 32830-1000
USA

I'm guessing we can FedEx/UPS things to this address? I just wanted to make sure. I'll be sure to include my name, check in date and reservation number.

Any other tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

See the specific section on how to mail things to the resort at http://www.portorleans.org/services.php#Mail. But basically, yes, ideally use the street address for any courier deliveries and use the PO Box address for US Postal mail.

Thanks Venom!!
We have snow, but my son finally got to go to school after 2 snow days at home. I was about to pull my hair out. :scared1:
My rainbow comes smiling through in just 8 days..... I'll be in my royal room at POR!!! :cloud9:

I have just sent over my fax request :cool1: We have requested a room near a swimming pool as our girls love to swim as often as possible. I put a little hint about building 16-17 as well so fingers crossed

We will be at POR on Feb. 1st! I have a garden view room booked, but was thinking about upgrading to a Royal Room since I have twin girls that are almost 4 years old. Should I call now to upgrade or just wait until check in? Would I need to pay the difference now or can it be put on our room until check out? Thanks!

I have a strange question that I don't remember ever seeing before. I know you can request a special room cleaning for allergies, but that isn't what we really need.

Last year we all broke out in rashes and we concluded it was from the laundry soap that they use to wash the sheets. We had never had that problem before at POR, but it is known to happen at home if we use scented laundry soap. I plan on bringing my own pillow cases this time (3 more weeks!!!), but is there something we could request for bedding washed in hypo-allergenic soap? Flying with 4 of us for a 2 week stay means our luggage space is already at a premium.

I have a question about booking reservations and free dining. If I book our reservations now for our trip in Oct 2014 and then at a later date we have a PIN or they offer FD, can it be applied to our existing reservation?

Also, if they see that we already have a reservation, are we less likely to receive a PIN?

And last question (for now), when are PINs typically issued and when is FD for everyone usually announced (how far in advance)?

Thanks for your help!

We booked last Sept for a 1 bedroom in OKW. I rec'd a PIN code offer via email yesterday. So yes you can still perhaps get a PIN when you have an existing reservation. Unfortunately I couldn't get it applied to our reservation at OKW and had to switch to SSR. Still we are saving $700 so it is worth it. Just be prepared to move if you get a PIN - but maybe not. That's just how it worked in our situation.

So I went ahead and called to upgrade our garden view room to a Royal Room for our stay Feb.1-8th and was told there was no availability. I am pretty shocked that every single Royal Room is booked, seeing how we are going on an off time. I am hoping we can switch upon arrival.

That may just mean that there's no availability with the package code that you have booked (stay, play, & dine or room only discount rate).

Thanks for your quick reply! So do you think I would be able to get a Royal Room when we get there? We are celebrating my girls' and husband's first trip and an early birthday for my daughters, so I wanted it to be extra special. (And yes, I did book with S/P/D)

I don't know. I went on line and pretended to try to book a trip for my dates (2/7 - 2/12) at POR and there weren't any available rooms of any category. That does seem really odd.

It's winter break for a lot of schools.

For those of you who have received free dining PIN codes... what dates were offered? Trying to guess if we have a shot at free dining for our stay. Thanks!

Really?? I'm there February 1-7 in a royal room, garden view. I'm sending in my room request fax on Monday. I was kinda hoping they weren't all booked up so maybe I'd have a better chance of getting one of the exact rooms I want.

I also tried to add a night at a value resort at the end if my trip at AoA, but there are no Little Mermaid rooms available. I think I read somewhere there are going to be a lot of sports and dance groups ther that week.
:confused3

I just had a thought.... I wonder if there is even just one night during your stay that a royal room would be available?
Maybe you'd be willing to switch over for a night or two just to have the experience?
