They don’t let you go to main street through every pathway. There are like 7 pathways that connect to main street and not all the pathways are open to leave from. So the quickest pathway may not be open or you can’t get into the land that would lead you to the quickest pathway. Have you been there after 6?Have you been there after 6PM? The exit route is not as you describe, it’s the regular route down Main Street, non-party guests just cannot access stores, QS or restrooms. At 6PM the park is closed to non-party guests.
“Freeloaders”Not sarcastic. Realistic.
Guests in lines for attractions by 5:59 may ride but then must leave the parks. There restrooms 100’ beyond the ones on Main Street so not far. CMs have far better things to do then spend hours checking for freeloaders. It’s easiest and best just to get all non-party guests to leave the park.
If someone wants to be in the MK after 6PM on a party day there is a simple answer - buy a party ticket. Party guests have paid to experience the party and deserve to not have others freeloading on their party time!
Exactly this is Disney and these are not common criminals for crying out loud! Kids can’t really hold it in while making loud treks and there are people with disabilities both hidden and visibleThey can also allow one to use the restroom if they were in the back of the park.
I know they don't want people staying but that could cause an issue if a restroom is not used at their current location in the park.
It is not as easy to drive up in an ECV or walk to the exits when there are tons of people.
If a CM says something to me I would explain that it can't wait and would offer my CC or DL for them to hold so that they know I am not trying to stay for free but really need to use the facilities.
Which are very small and can take over 20 minutes to get too in slow moving crowds! For anyone concerned about the bathroom issue, there are bathrooms outside the gate at MK, just past the Guest Services area.
I completely agree with everyone here on party nights, once your time is up your time is up. Although I can understand how a guest may feel about a seemingly harmless (to them) bathroom pitstop you're right that people are people and the few can often ruin it for the bunch. They paid for park usage until 6 pm. No later. They no longer have access to anything at that point. They DID NOT pay to be in the park or using the offerings past 6 pm.
So people should plan ahead. If you or anyone in your party can't hold it then they should make sure they are at the front gates by 6pm. If there's a high chance you or someone in your party will need to use the bathroom....then maybe getting in line for SDMT at 5:59pm isn't smart. But that would take someone taking personal responsibility for themselves versus expecting Disney to bend their rules because that person is special.Which are very small and can take over 20 minutes to get too in slow moving crowds!
Seeing a bathroom triggers subconscious physiology signals that the body needs to pee. Can’t plan for that! Bathrooms are like the ultimate psychology mechanism for inducing someone to use the bathroom! So people should plan ahead. People just need to follow rules instead of thinking they are better than them.
I’ve been told and heard that the extra hours are more geared towards going on rides and thus they only check at rides.I completely agree with everyone here on party nights, once your time is up your time is up. However, to your comment above I don't think it is necessarily the best example. On normal nights the stores stay open past park closing. If we use your words people only paid for park usage until the park closed but we know they have the ability to use facilities beyond that time.
When we were last in Disney in 2022 our friends we were with were staying at Deluxe resorts while we were off site and when we were with them at MK on an extra magic hours for Deluxe guests we dutifully left once the park closed to day guests not at Deluxe resorts. Our friends later told us we could have stayed as no one checked at all on any attraction or within the park as they walked around to ensure they were indeed Deluxe guests. We still wouldn't have done it but it's just antidotal point. I have no doubt that Disney does check for Deluxe guests but with consistency at the same level at the hard ticket events I don't think so, I think Disney has learned over time that the hard ticket events have a higher rate of people trying to stick around and so they do more patrolling then.
Again I agree with people about party nights but I don't think using "paying for park usage until X time" is best example as normal nights you are more than welcome to shop, they would love for you to shop and they keep the shops open for later. I believe there are normally access to the bathrooms though I'm sure they limit which ones and how long they stay open as the point is to clear the park so they want to funnel people towards the exit. From a guest standpoint that is not as easy to understand when looking at normal nights and comparing to posters here who are well-versed in hard ticket event rules.
But you can plan for where you will be at any given time. And it might not be in writing, but it is a procedure Disney uses. Try getting into a bathroom at 6:10pm on a party night and tell us how it goes. Just like a store or quick service you'll more than likely be disappointed.Seeing a bathroom triggers subconscious physiology signals that the body needs to pee. Can’t plan for that! Bathrooms are like the ultimate psychology mechanism for inducing someone to use the bathroom!
There’s no rule bending at all, there is no rule Disney has that says you can’t use the bathroom, it is just a made up rule that people in this thread created or think is a rule. Go ask my plan Disney or Disney if they won’t allow guests leaving at 6pm to use the bathroom on their way out or not, newsflash Disney will never say that they can’t because it’s not a rule!
In summary, this no using bathroom after 6pm isn’t a rule! If anyone has anything from Disney stating it’s a rule please show me because it’s just a figment of your imagination right now
No, the average Disney park goer, myself included, cannot plan on where I will be at any given time as so much is out of my control. The wait time given for a ride maybe was inaccurate or the ride suffered a mechanical issue that delayed myself, or any number of issues that would result in my party and I not being able to plan everything out accurately to the minute, in Disney a lot of the timing aspects are literally out of your control. If Disney can’t perfectly predict the wait times than how do you expect park goers to perfectly predict what time they will get off a ride at? Stop expecting more out of park guests than you expect out of Disney. But you can plan for where you will be at any given time. And it might not be in writing, but it is a procedure Disney uses. Try getting into a bathroom at 6:10pm on a party night and tell us how it goes. Just like a store or quick service you'll more than likely be disappointed.
But like every other thread you comment on, the 99 people who disagree with you are probably the ones who are wrong.
I would guess that yes people are primarily using them for the rides but the point I was making was about paying for a certain park usage as that point is situationally dependent on how Disney treats park close and things made available to guests afterwards.I’ve been told and heard that the extra hours are more geared towards going on rides and thus they only check at rides.
In 2018 Disney changed the closing hours from 7pm to 6pm in order to try and clear out the day guests in a more efficient manner. It doesn't matter what time the party starts however, just the time it does for day guests. However, my point is that day guests aren't always going to know the ins and the outs of what is available to them beyond a more basic understanding about rides most especially when you compare to what occurs on non-hard ticket event nights. But yes the party doesn’t start until 7pm so by someone being there until 6:59pm they are not encroaching on anyone’s “party time” because the party doesn’t start until 7pm
I do agree with you on that, I don't disagree with Disney's rules like you may, it's their rules they can opt to police to their heart's content on whatever they want to, but I do agree it's not likely to be fully clear what is and isn't available for things like a bathroom (especially this) or a shop on the hard ticket events to the day guest.Disney also doesn’t really explain the limitations very well or point out the differences.
Yes and the average park goer doesn’t understand all the different nuances of how Disney treats it.I would guess that yes people are primarily using them for the rides but the point I was making was about paying for a certain park usage as that point is situationally dependent on how Disney treats park close and things made available to guests afterwards.
I agree, most guests don’t understand it all, myself included you can attend a day in magic kingdom and potentially not even know it’s a party day until you arrive! In 2018 Disney changed the closing hours from 7pm to 6pm in order to try and clear out the day guests in a more efficient manner. Which rule of Disneys am I disagreeing with right now? I don’t think this no bathroom thing is a Disney rule at all. But the differences between party days and no party days like you said aren’t well explained.I do agree with you on that, I don't disagree with Disney's rules like you may, it's their rules they can opt to police to their heart's content on whatever they want to, but I do agree it's not likely to be fully clear what is and isn't available for things like a bathroom (especially this) or a shop on the hard ticket events to the day guest.
To be fair throughout all the comments you've made on the situations you've encountered I think you stand to be more informed than the guests I'm mostly speaking to. The fact that you're on this Board having made nearly 500 comments in a few months stands to reason you're much more informed as a guest than most people at Disney just there on their one trip they may take in their lifetime. Those are the guests I'm more speaking of, the ones who haven't gone in forever and a day, the guests who have never been before, and certainly the ones who have not even found the DIS to know. My thoughts have always been though that we have to understand how guests not in the know, not on here, are at a disadvantage in knowledge but on that point if a poster, who hasn't been to a hard ticket event or hasn't been in many years may also have knowledge gap. It's not really about debating the merits of needing to go to the bathroom if you see one but just to understand why someone may not understand how Disney does things for hard ticket events.the average Disney park goer, myself included, cannot plan on where I will be at any given time as so much is out of my control.
Well no you really can't, well okay technically you can but it will be on the guest to have done some looking at it because Disney is clear about it being a special ticketed night and that the park hours are until 6pm. What I agreed with you about is that to the day guest they aren't clear in what facilities one can and can't use; most people assume rides they may not consider a bathroom or shop to be a no-no especially if they compare to a normal park night where at least the shops (main street mostly) are open up to one hour past closing.you can attend a day in magic kingdom and potentially not even know it’s a party day until you arrive!
You're debating with everyone about whether it should be done, whether it's really against procedure, etc. I'm not. I'm just saying I understand how it is for the day guest. I'm not disagreeing with what Disney is doing. That's the difference between your stance and mine.Which rule of Disneys am I disagreeing with right now? I've used those before I'm not sure how it's been on a party night but normally it's not been too crowded. I usually like to hit the bathroom if need be before trying to leave, at MK with needing to go to the TTC sometimes I've waited until the TTC if a ferry or monorail is available right then and there. For anyone concerned about the bathroom issue, there are bathrooms outside the gate at MK, just past the Guest Services area.
Dam, I made almost 500 postsTo be fair throughout all the comments you've made on the situations you've encountered I think you stand to be more informed than the guests I'm mostly speaking to. no guest would think bathrooms are off-limits and I still don’t think they are off limits except for a rouge cast member or too. The party doesn’t start until 7pm so most guests wouldn’t expect this intense push towards leaving asap because again the party starts at 7pm. I’m sure there is a better way Disney could create that doesn’t involve denying people usage of a basic human necessity for an arbitrarily long period of time.Well no you really can't, well okay technically you can but it will be on the guest to have done some looking at it because Disney is clear about it being a special ticketed night and that the park hours are until 6pm. that is why I was confused by your post. I agree the average Disney park goer would most certainly be unaware of this, even I was unaware of this until last night. I disagree with what Disney is doing and I don’t think it is any official rule or procedure, just one rouge cast member who said something and now people take it as official policy. You're debating with everyone about whether it should be done, whether it's really against procedure, etc. I'm not. I'm just saying I understand how it is for the day guest. I'm not disagreeing with what Disney is doing. That's the difference between your stance and mine.
It normally isn’t too crowded at normal times. But if they are refusing other bathrooms to thousands of people about to go onto other transportation options they don’t have bathrooms I assume the lines will swell. Especially when you factor in the people coming for the Halloween party who all pregamed it and have to go to the bathroom also. Again I have no idea and just purely speculating, I also don’t think the no bathroom thing is actually s thing to a major extent.I've used those before I'm not sure how it's been on a party night but normally it's not been too crowded. I usually like to hit the bathroom if need be before trying to leave, at MK with needing to go to the TTC sometimes I've waited until the TTC if a ferry or monorail is available right then and there.
In terms of crowds I try not to go against the grain so unlikely I would even try to use the City Hall bathrooms if I were ever at MK on a party night right around park close. I'd probably just try and wait until out of MK (either the bathrooms you mentioned or the TTC ones).
***We use a rental car so we don't take the buses but I do believe there's a bathroom at the bus loop area though that I could see not being the most convenient depending on what location someone is going to.
Agree 100% with you here.Disney is clear about it being a special ticketed night and that the park hours are until 6pm.
