We have a Royal room booked for our May trip. My in laws and my parents are also going with us but they booked a standard room. I know my daughter will want to visit there rooms. Will they try to get us as close as possible I know it's a different building but hope they would get a close one. Should we downgrade to a standard room? Is it possible to get 3 standard rooms side by side? I'm not certain it worth the headache of going back and forth we do spend a lot of time at our resorts. We stayed in the Bayou last trip but it was just our family.

Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

My family was able to have 4 rooms together last year at Pop Century. I arrived early around 11:30 and when I checked in I check once again about getting the rooms together and a call to mousekeeping was made. The rooms were not ready at that time, but were before the others arrived my 3:00.

I also had the room reservations linked with a group together number. They do not have grand gatherings any more, but if you ask they will give you a group together number to link the reservations.

We are finally in Florida but we don't check into POR until tomorrow. We are planning on doing rope drop at MK tomorrow. Do we have to go to POR first to check in and activate our magic bands? We did online check in. Or are our magic bands already activated with our tickets and meal plan in them? Then we could just go back to the hotel in the afternoon to officially check in?

We are doing the same in September. I purposely requested oak manner facing magnolia terrace on our reservation and vice versa on my parents reservation

In October we had to go to the resort first for our MBs to be activated. Unless something has changed I think you still do.

Also, in addition to everyone else's suggestions, maybe it wouldn't hurt to list as a request that you call in for theirs, Something like Magnolia, right side of building? Since that is the building closest to the RR bldgs. And on yours, since their is 2 royal room bldgs., request Oak Manor, left side of building.

Just sent my online fax request for a Magnolia Terrace room with a corner room.....I have never had a corner 2 window room and would LOVE that. I know that the corner rooms in magnolia terrace facing the quiet pool seem to be either pool view or standard view and we booked garden view......I said in my email I would pay to upgrade to pool view if the standard view wasn't available....I just really wanted a corner room on that side of the building. We love Magnolia terrace and I like to be close to the laundry/quiet pool area.
We check in on Thursday......yeahhhhh cannot wait. It's my son's 16th birthday trip...he wished to go back here and he has been in/out of hospital for the last 2 years so this is going to be so nice to get away.
crossing my fingers for sunny days.

Busy with advancement training. Good morning to everyone!
Congrats Venomhatch!! Sorry for being so late :)

Since I am not going again until 2016 I haven't been on as often. I just keep checking in to try to keep on top of everything

We just back Friday from POR and our very first Disney vacation. We had such a great time. I will be booking May 2015 as soon as they are up!!! :)

What is the procedure for getting a cab at the hotel? We're considering taking one to dinner one night and not sure how it works. Call the front desk and have them call? Call for one directly? Wait outside for one to just show up? I have no idea what the procedure is.

Front desk is probably the best way. Let them know when you want one.

We went outside to the concierge. There were a few cabs waiting across the street in a parking space, we never had to wait for one

I think Disney's PR campaign for Frozen is going a bit too far now... Andre

So true! Haha!

I live on the southeast coast where it NEVER snows and they are calling for 8-12 inches Tuesday/Wednesday. Saturday can't come soon enough for me! 6 more days!!

We will be staying at POR for the first time at the end of March. We are in the AB section in a standard room. I've requested a room in a building closest to the preferred location. I've also requested a high floor. We have an ADR for 1 nt at Boatwrights.

For those who are experts at this resort, do you have any tips on things in the resort not to miss, any inside advice?

Thank you for any information that you can give me!

definitely do not miss using the boat to downtown Disney, one of our favourite things about Port Orleans Riverside....definitely go to the French Quarter side and have some snacks there....maybe have a swim there also. If your kids collect pins it's good to know that the gift shop has PIN BOARDS and you can ask to see them or ask what time they get brought out.
