Garden view consists of views of grassy areas, gardens with trees, and fountains. There are garden view rooms in both AB and the mansions. If you prefer AB then you should put that as a request.

Mickey mail is the packet you get in the mail with info regarding your package.

"These rooms offer pleasant views of the gardens, courtyards (including water features and fountains), landscaping or bayou  but NOT of the parking lots. Garden View rooms can be located in any of the buildings EXCEPT for Preferred Locations."

Also, according to the page I linked, there are 495 garden view rooms in AB versus 266 in the mansions (not including the royal rooms since those are a separate booking category), so you would have a better than average chance of getting AB.

What is Mickey Mail?

It's a packet you get in the mail when you book a package that includes vouchers for the various components of your package as well as luggage tags. Some people also get their DME information in the packet, or it may get sent separately.

Applied the Summer discount code to my two rooms at POR AB Preferred booking for July 10-16..

..and then took the savings (which has fantastic) to book another AB Preferred
room. Now we have a three rooms (instead of two) for more space for only a couple of hundred dollars extra. I have a munchkin 21 year old daughter who was going to do the pull down bed...now her and my mother will have their own space.

I guess some didn't have luck getting the Preferred rooms in the promo. I called around 9:15am and didn't have any issues.

Just in case anyone was wondering about the rate difference:

1 room AB Preferred( 2 adults 2 children 17-18 with 6 day park hoppers/waterparkmore plus Dining Plan Plus originally 4384.04 now 4027.20

1 room AB Preferred ( 4 adults, 1 Child 16 same tickets/dining as above ) was 5309.65. I took off 2 adults and used the promo. New Price 3318.75

Added 1 Room AB Preferred ( 2 Adults ) same tkts/dining as above 2610.30

Old total 2 rooms 9693.69
New total 3 rooms 9956.25 / xtra 262.56 for 3rd room 6 nights..comes to 43.76 a night..not too bad!

Yes, all the same cost depending on category, ie standard, pool view, king etc.

Royal Guest Rooms are only in the mansions are and a premium fee.

Are you getting a savings as opposed to the full price rack rate? I compared it to my Spring Promo rate and it seemed like the summer one would come out to be around $150 more, but maybe I missed something!?

When I went last year, I got my Mickey mail around 3-4 weeks before my reservation date. So you should be receiving it in the next couple of weeks.

Yes, there's a savings off the rack rate (20% for POR) and you can also get a small discount on tickets as long as you get at least a 4 day ticket to make a package. Maybe the Spring discount was a higher percentage or maybe you were looking at a higher priced room category for the Summer promo than what you booked.

I finally broke down and changed our dates so we could switch to POR . I am SOOOOO thrilled! I booked a garden view, but I am wanting to know bldg #85 has any. If so, I am planning on requesting one. Also, does it make that much difference which floor as far as noise? I had to book our trip 10 days later than our original date to make the resort switch and just can't wait!!!!
