If we got a room with a trundle, do you think instead of the trundle, there would be room for us to inflate our own double sized air mattress? That way we could give MIL a full twin bed to herself? She's saying she 'can't' sleep in a double bed with FIL without straining her back. But this way she could have her own bed, FIL and DD could sleep in one bed, and then DH and I in the air mattress and DS *hopefully* in his pack in play. (He uses a toddler bed, so it should be interesting!)

6 nights in the same room as MIL. Let's hope that We run ourselves hard so I pass out super quick every night!

Gotcha!

Yes, there is plenty of room for an air mattress. You can lean it up against the wall in the closet during the day so mousekeeping can get a clean sweep of the room.

A couple more to share today!

6 of you in one room, including a MIL? So there would be the two full sized beds, a pack n play and an air mattress? What size is it? A double or a twin? (both sizes mentioned i your post) Maybe a twin would fit? I dont know. With the pack and play as well, I feel like you guys are going to be packed in there like sardines. (and I'm not even mentioning the bathroom situation!) I know it would be a bit more $ but if it were me, I would consider doing two Value rooms, or even the Family suite for some more space. Or have MIL and FIL get their own room at POR if you are set on staying there.

Just wanted to mention since you'll definitely be pressed for space, we put our pack and play in the bathroom area, up against the closet wall, and it worked fine. There was still room to maneuver in the bathroom.

Can anyone tell me which of the mansion buildings would be considered closest to the main bus stop and food court? It looks to me like Parterre and Oak... but it's a little hard to tell from the map. Thank you!

Oak Manor and Magnolia Terrace are the closest; some rooms from Acadian House and Parterre Place can be rather far, especially those facing the parking lot.

I was in a riverview room in Parterre Place this past year on one of the wings, and you got to the main building through the front lobby side. Not a bad walk. But if I had been farther back, it may have been longer.

I'm trying desperately to talk FIL into two, hopefully, adjoining rooms at ASMo... It's a little bit more than what we'd be paying for one room at POR (Well, $500 more since we'd have to upgrade to DDP, and they only have preferred rooms available.) and I'm having a hard time talking his cheap butt into doing it. Even if we pay more than half since we have the extra people and tickets. I'd even rather pay to get a cabin at FW!!! Ahhhh!
The air mattress we have is a double, and I really worry that DS won't like being in the pnp and will want to sleep a bed with someone.

Thanks for all your answers and suggestions guys. I feel so overwhelmed right now. Our trip has been planned for months, ADRs for 4 made, and now, 50 days in advance they want to come. Sigh.

I was in a corner room (ground floor, river view) in Parterre Place last month for are trip, I timed the walk to the main building it was just under 2 mins! The walk was very short!

I think I'm missing it somewhere so sorry if this question has a very obvious answer. The garden view is not the same thing as the 'standard' view right? Standard view on PortOrleans.org lists standard view as facing (or potentially facing) parking lots. It doesn't however list garden view as an option and standard isn't listed in the OP so I'm wondering if somewhere those two became one and the same?

I'm booked Jan 8-14 at POR with free dining in a queen bed gardenview room (going to request one of the refurbed mansions) but I am trying to determine if this category is a parking lot-facing category or not.

TIA! :goodvibes

Yeah I wa in the Sam wing on a second floor one room from corner room. River view and that sounds right, I don't remember taking too long to walk to the main building.

That is too funny about the toliet. I had one before the refurb there that liked to do that in the parterre building. Glad you got what you wanted from your visit there and made it there and back safely. I had never been up into that part of the resort where the Arcadia building is, was it nice and quiet?

It was very quiet over there. I ended up liking the location better than Parterre Place.

We were in the Acadian House the year I obliously ended up during Pop Warner.

We were facing the parking lot; I was so glad, because it was away from all of the shenanigans.

It was a beautiful walk through the gardens and there were lots of butterflies along the way to amuse us.

:cool1: Just booked our January stay at POR. This will be our first stay here. We have stayed at POFQ twice and BC once.Excited to give POR a try. I'm really want a refurbished room though. We love queen beds instead of doubles!

 all the pics--keep 'em coming. I'm so jealous of people who are able to take a decent picture.

15 more days to go and only 8 more work days (after today)...my to do list is getting shorter as I am checking things off...gotta pack another suitcase this weekend...I'm shoulder dancing at my desk (of course it's early and there isn't anyone at work yet to see me shoulder dancing). :goodvibes

POR is getting dangerously close, DS5 doesn't know we are going to WDW, I told him we couldn't go this year...let's see if I can keep the secret...just a few more days!

Anyone else excited about their upcoming trip and specifically-going to POR?

We did that surprise last year, didnt tell are little one. We even rolled up to the airport and she thought we were eating dinner at the airport because they have a great restaurant there. But when we get out of the car at the airline's door, fiancé told her, and she was in complete denial even as I pull the suit cases out of the trunk. Still the little one was saying "Nuh uh" and "were not going". Then it sets in as we are checking in. She flips out. It was soooo hard holding that secret back, more for her mom than me. But it is soo fun to do it that way. I do hope you have fun and a safe trip.

Little people are so cute.

We had to tell DS12, b/c he is missing school for a week and we had to make arrangements for work make-up, etc. But, he doesn't know we are flying, we usually drive the 15+ hours, so he will be super excited about that.

DS4 has autism and doesn't speak-so I have told him we are going on a trip with just Mommy, Daddy and the Bubbies and that we will ride in an airplane and get to stay in a big bedroom and see new things. I sit with him at night and we watch youtube videos of rides and people at WDW. He has been before, but I'm not sure what he remembers-he loves the parks though and loves to people watch.

DS5 is my true Disney Lover and he will be shocked-I can already picture his face, I will try to record it b/c I'm sure it will be too funny.

Also, POR will be new for us this trip, we usually stay in the Values, but we are an "official" family of 5 now, so there is no turning back! AB here we come!

Yeah I uploaded mine also to YouTube as well. Yeah my fiancé stayed at a value the year before I met her. But ever since we stay a POR at least. One day we will be staying at poly. I know they will have a lot of fun and the adults also lol.
