Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter Room Request Fax Thread

Yeah I have advised that not all faxes require them to reply. They might not even be able to reply. But Fax don't just go into the trash so I promise someone looks at them and enters them in.

Hey, quick question. I arrive on Saturday and am going to fax POR with a request ( I know I am little behind on this) should I fax it tonight or send it first thing tomorrow? Thanks!!!

Tomorrow morning first thing. That is the best time anytime after 7:30am.

I'm arriving Friday at POR and sent my fax on Monday. I meant to do online check-in before I sent it but forgot to do it. If I do it now will it mess up any room assignment they may have done? Shall I just take my chances on long lines and do the regular check-in when I get there?

I can't believe I'm leaving in 2 days! Eeeek and yippee!

Thank you to venomhatch and andre. Your information is so helpful. I have been following along here and on your Nov POR thread. We are taking our 7yr old and 4 yr old for their first trip to WDW - leaving Nov 30 and staying in a Royal Room - Garden View. It is a surprise trip and we plan to tell them the day before we leave with some help from our Elf on the Shelf. My daughter will celebrate her 8th birthday while we are there with a makeover at BBB in Cinderella's castle, lunch in Norway with the princesses and dinner at O'hana and fireworks viewing on the beach at the Poly. Plan to fax a room request for a room close to the foot bridge for walking to the main building and want to be sure they have it down we are celebrating our first trip and my girl's birthday. Thanks again for all the wonderful advice.pixiedust:

I wouldn't worry about it now. I would just just do normal check in on that case.

Thank you! I'll do that. I really meant to do the online check in it a few weeks ago but there's a lot going on here at home and time just got away from me. I'll hope most everyone else will have checked in online and the normal check in line won't be too long.

Thank you also for all your great advice help here. Even though I don't post much I've really learned a lot from you and from Andre.

Its all on the time of day you check in. I showed up in the morning around 9:30 am so there wasn't that much of a line then.

Unfortunately, my plane doesn't land until 2:45 PM. :( I'm guessing I'll arrive between 3:30 and 4:30 PM at POR (using DME)?

Sent my fax in yesterday for our stay on the 23rd, hopefully it went thru, never got the confirmation from the machine telling me it went thru but didn't get one saying it didn't. Hoping for the best. Want to say thank for this thread, it is very helpful. Keeping my fingers crossed for some Pixie Dust.

Question - My TA said she called Disney today to put my room requests on record and was told since I am in a Royal Room-Garden View there are no room "near" the footbridge to the main building. They told her the only rooms near the main building are the "preferred category" and since we did not pay for that we could not request it since they are sold out for our stay. I explained, I am not asking for room upgrade but rather within our room category, a room close to the bridge to walk to the main building and bus depot. Thoughts....?:confused3

Unfortunately your TA ran into a very misinformed CM. Your TA should call back. This happens way more than it should.

Yeah how many times a week we hear this dansdad? Yes your TA was informed incorrectly my an unknowledgeable CM. They are mostly reading from a script or what the monitor in front of them says. That is why we have these sites and Andre's Fan page also.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Venom for all your advice on this thread. I must have written a pretty decent request based on your advice, because we did get some major pixie dust. : ) you were right about that pixie dust fairie I guess. : ) This was much appreciated when my ASD boy was melting down as soon as we got checked in and to our room. (Not that he didn't live the room, I think the anxiety of flying and been too much for him) And i appreciated everything once again this evening coming back from fireworks carrying 2 of our 3 sleeping children!

Glad to hear it! Arriving tomorrow and cannot wait. Is POR still getting KTTW cards by the way?
