Port Orleans French Quarter FAQ thread - Refurbished for 2011 - Now CLOSED

So, I've been lurking on this thread for a couple of weeks now...

I've been trying to decide which Mod resort to stay at tfor our first on property stay... We were trying to choose between POFQ, POR or CBR. I bit the bullet, because I've always loved the photos of POFQ, and booked our 8 day all girls trip yesterday. I am super excited!

I just have to say that Andre's site has been immensely helpful in deciding - what a wonderful resourse you've created!

Anyways - I thought I'd introduce myself - you'll probably be seeing me around a bit over the next few months.

Well, I was blessed to be able to add a WONDERful trip to Mexican Sierra for my 50th Birthday on Valentine's day, and might as well visit DL for 2 days before boarding, no? BUT, there is no way I can fit every tickers in my signature, now. I saw some of you making the tickers "roll" one after the other ones in your sigs. How can I do that, too?

If you click on my ticker below, it should take you to a site that will allow you to make rolling tickers. Mine have the same date because we are staying at two different resorts on our trip. I do believe that you can change all the dates and such. Good Luck!

This is going to be so much FUN! I took a quick look at the pictures, and even after being at POFQ many times, there are just a few that I can pin-point off hand.

I've now updated the photo quiz at www.portorleans.org/scavenger-hunt.php to 20 pictures, which seems like a nice round number. I've also created a neater printable version too, which you can print out from the same page and carry with you. Good luck with the hunt!

Andre, thank you so much for the Port Orleans site, this thread and now the photo scavenger hunt. It will be fun to search for the locations of these pictures during our upcoming September trip.

The scavenger hunt looks like a lot of fun. Unfortunately, if Friday afternoon is the only time this happens, I don't think we will be able to do it. This will be our last full day at the parks before our return trip on the Saturday. If we are finished with the parks early though, I think the family would enjoy it. We'll have to wait and see!!!

The scavenger hunt looks like a lot of fun. Unfortunately, if Friday afternoon is the only time this happens, I don't think we will be able to do it.

The photo hunt I've created is nothing to do with the resort's planned Recreation activities, you can do it any time you like. I hadn't actually noticed they were doing one in fact, I wonder how theirs works, do you have to figure out clues around the resort?

Not sure how theirs works, but since yours can be done anytime, I think we will try yours!!!

Unless things have radically changed, check in is at POFQ for FQ. As soon as you walk through the door, turn right and proceed to the check in counter.

Yes, you can do the online check-in yourself even if you booked through a TA. Check-in time is the same throughout all the resorts - 3:00pm but sometimes your room will be ready sooner. If it is not ready you can leave your luggage with bell services and go do something else until your room is ready.

Does POFQ have roll-a-way beds that are available to rent? We are a party of 4 but one is a 16 year old that prefers to sleep alone. We are trying to avoid bringing an air-up mattress if at all possible.
