You check-in at POFQ:goodvibes

Oh good - what a relief. I thought that sounded a little insane... and I couldn't believe there would be no mention of this anywhere, because it's kind of important - if it was true.

Thanks so much! :)

Hi Everyone,

I have friends who are going to be staying at POFQ this month and they would like to know if the rooms have the iPod docking station/radio combo. If yes does it work with iPhones as well?

Thanks for your help POFQ experts!:goodvibes

No, don't think they do. We had a room with an extension 3.5mm cable on a new-style digital clock/radio in Alligator Bayou last week, but not any sort of iDevice port.

Does POFQ have roll-a-way beds that are available to rent? We are a party of 4 but one is a 16 year old that prefers to sleep alone. We are trying to avoid bringing an air-up mattress if at all possible.

At the moment the resort are still allowing this I think, but the impression I got from speaking to a few management people last week was that the roll-aways will in future NOT be allowed in the queen bed rooms any more.

Thanks for the new Photo Scavenger Hunt, Andre! I think this will be great to do on our first day, as we don't plan on doing any parks that day, and it will be a great way to begin to explore the resort.

On another issue...I have a torn ligament in my ankle that seems to be taking forever to heal. I am concerned that I may have to rent an ECV, as walking will be too painful. If we do need and ECV, do they fit in the standard rooms, or do we need to reserve a handicap accesible room? (I can use a regular tub/shower, just thinking I may need an ECV...since taking 3 steps is painful, I can't imagine walking all over WDW)

Make sure you are icing and doing stretches each day with your ankle. I have severe achiiles tendonitis and currently having to wear a removable cast due to it not healing quickly enough for my podiatrist. Also, make sure you are wearing shoes with a great support. Since most shoes, even running shoes don't have the best support, buy inserts for your shoes. Though it is hot out, don't bother with flip flops, since this will just aggravate the ligament.

Good luck to you. I myself am determined to be better by the time we leave, so I don't have to wear the removable cast at WDW.

Just returned from a wonderful 4 night stay at POFQ! We were in 5129, with a lovely view of the green. A little further from the parking lot/bus stop than I would have liked, but it was still pretty equidistant(sp?) from everything. Overall, I loved it and it was even nicer than I remembered (from staying there 10 years ago). Look for my trip report very soon!

Thanks! I have actually been in a removable cast (although I can only take it off to shower) for a month now. He said NOT to do any stretches or anything yet.:confused3 It feels like it would feel sooo much better if I could. It SHOULD come off in 2 weeks, which gives me exactly 2 months to the trip. He said something about a soft cast/brace for WDW, but I am nervous about that. I guess we will see how I feel when the boot comes off and go from there. My Husband is having foot issues too....my left, his right, so I guess 2 halves make a whole at least!:thumbsup2

Hope you are back to 100% before your trip!:grouphug:

Ask him to prescribe PT for you. It will help. Also, my Dr. prescribed me some Vicodin for my trip, because he knows I won't be a good patient and wear the removable cast for the trip. He did suggest if needed for me to get a wheelchair and then just stand in line for the rides. I am hoping I can tough it out. My sister will be with me and she is a PT, so I will have my own therapist.

I know I will be just fine for WDW. Nothing is going to hold me back.

Good luck to y'all on your trip.

We haven't checked in online yet, and our flight arrives at MCO at 9:30am Friday. I didn't make any room requests, but I am hoping we'll end up with a room in building 3 or 4 with something other than a parking lot view. (We paid for standard view.) I've stayed in building 7 before (river view) and building 3 (courtyard view) so I'm not sure what to do at this point. The only thing I don't want is a pool view or a parking lot view. :rotfl2:

We have been back since 8/26 from POFQ... just in time for Irene and days without power! We just got Internet back last night.

Any questions? We were in building 5, room 5113. We were literally 20 feet from the pool, which was great! We loved this resort, the size was wonderful. Went back every afternoon to swim, join in pool games, and nap.

I've looked a couple of places but can't find this.. WHat is the standard check-out time? Is it hard to get a later time if needed?

Thanks.

Check out is 11AM. The day before you check out, you can call housekeeping and request a late check out. However, they can tell you no if they feel they will need the time to clean the rooms. Depending on how late you stay, you may be charged for the time.
