Port Orleans French Quarter FAQ thread - Refurbished for 2011 - Now CLOSED

We have requested building 4 or 5 to be close to the bus stop and food court.
We have a standard room reserved.

We do not mind a parking lot view if we are in building 4.

But if we get building 5 - we may have a view of the grass area where the movies are shown duirng the summer months.

What if we want to go to sleep by 10 pm because we plam an early ADR breakfast or morning EMH at MK, and need to take a 6:30 am bus ?

Can you hear the movies and people from your room in building 5, the grass area side ?

What time do the POFQ summer movies start and end ?

pooh2001: We were in 5129, which is a view of the courtyard where they show movies. You could hear it faintly from our room, but since the movie starts at 8:30, it was always over by 10 or a little after.

Ask him to prescribe PT for you. It will help. Also, my Dr. prescribed me some Vicodin for my trip, because he knows I won't be a good patient and wear the removable cast for the trip. He did suggest if needed for me to get a wheelchair and then just stand in line for the rides. I am hoping I can tough it out. My sister will be with me and she is a PT, so I will have my own therapist.

I know I will be just fine for WDW. Nothing is going to hold me back.

Yeah, I think PT is next for me after I get the boot off in 2 weeks. Sounds like you have everything in place to have a great trip. Enjoy!!!

Maybe we will only get building #4 - since your room sounds like a Garden view and we are only a standard view -Unless there is a building 5 room which faces building #4 and no garden ?

We booked standard view, but requested a ground floor room for mobility reasons. When we arrived it was rather late and they said that was the last ground room floor available. So not sure if it's considered garden view or standard view, honestly, but yeah, we too only expected standard view.

Oh alright... Yes, all of the rooms at POFQ have now been refurbished and all of the old double rooms now have queen size beds (apart from the King rooms obviously).

Hi - Planning trip for next summer Our daughter made the reservations for POFQ. I am reading about the AAA discount for rooms - is this something we can still do even though reservations are made? Also - she asked for connecting/adjoining rooms and I am wondering if it would be too "pushy" if I also asked for a corner room if that is possible.

This will be our first trip with our grandaughter who will be 3 1/2 when we arrive. Our daughter, and her husband are traveling with us along with their daughter (our beautiful little grandaughter) and my son and his GF may be joining us later.

Finding so much great info on this site!
