Best to book ahead if you can, but they sometimes can accept walk-ups. $45 per carriage ride. See http://www.portorleans.org/recreation.php#Carriage for more info.

We tried to do a walk-up last year when we were at POFQ but unfortunately they had no availability. However when we go back to our room, we called and were able to book for two days time.

It was a lovely experience but I would recommend the POFQ route. When we did it, we were staying at POFQ and therefore opted to do the POR route to get a look around that resort......I was quite disappointed when it turned out that at least half of the ride was spent going through parking lots in POFQ.:confused3.....go figure. I don't know why they didn't go around POR on the riverside path......now that would have been beautiful! Oh well, live and learn.

When we had breakfast at Crystal Palace and Tusker House, we were directed to arrive a half hour prior to the reservation time. Both parks opened after that check in time. We walked into the parks before rope drop. We took pictures in front of the castle with no one else in the back ground! Breakfast was over after the rope drop occurred. Buses run early enough to bring the masses to the breakfast reservations. I like to call concierge and confirm transport and first bus times. Our family only used Disney provided transportation.

I only use Disney transportation! Unless we are planning to hit US. We have no need to worry about a car and parking. It really gives us freedom.

Oh cool! We arrive in 2 1/2 weeks. Think they'll be doing it by then?

Here is the schedule as posted by Andre on his website, for June.

Wednesday, June 1: Monsters, Inc.
Friday, June 3: Gnomeo and Juliet
Saturday, June 4: Tangled
Wednesday, June 8: A Bug's Life
Friday, June 10: James and the Giant Peach
Saturday, June 11: The Rescuers
Wednesday, June 15: Atlantis
Friday, June 17: Enchanted
Saturday, June 18: Toy Story
Wednesday, June 22: The Emperor's New Groove
Friday, June 24: The Princess and the Frog
Saturday, June 25: The Sword and the Stone
Wednesday, June 29: Lilo and Stitch

May be subject to change; they are in Beignet Square; between building nos. 4, 5, and 6. Great location.

We do the same, we've always found Disney transportation to be very reliable and it takes us everywhere we want to go. We've usually found wait-times for the buses to be acceptable (10 - 15 minutes on average) but the odd time it takes longer, we just chill out and go with the flow. We're on vacation and we're at Disney, how bad can it be? :cool1: :thumbsup2 pixiedust:

Does anyone know if the movies at POFQ are going to be a regular thing or is it only for the summer?

Not sure yet. Might be a bit chilly some winter's evenings to sit outside on the grass though...

Andre

A good basis of comfort level may be whether one can tolerate the ride on the water taxi.

Last year, the week after Thanksgiving, the first day it was 84 and the last day it was 52, during the day. I don't think I could have sat outside by then.

Very true. I was more interested in knowing whether it would still be running in the fall, as our trip is in mid-September. :goodvibes

We were offered the choice of POR, POFQ, or both (with less time in POR than if we only did POR itself). We did both and never saw a parking lot. Not sure why your driver would have taken you through parking lots. We did pull off in a grassy area so that the horse could go to the bathroom (geesh, the horses are potty trained?), but other than that we were in the resorts the whole time. It was a beautiful ride on our 32nd anniversary.

Andre please help me because i have a incorrect website and I need the correct website of Port Orleans please I wanted to know!

Which website are you looking for? Can't be mine, as you are there regularly and anyway it's listed in my sig in about a couple of hundred posts in this thread alone. Have you tried the links page at my site?

We ended up going around building 7 in POFQnand back to POR through the parking lot of building 7, with cars driving by us. It made no sense to me at the time but I still enjoyed the experience as first timers. What the heck, I was in Disney which makes it all good!
