A question- we are going to the character breakfast at the Poly- is it faster and easier to go to Epcot by bus and then hop onto the monorail or go to MK then the monorail?

I'd suggest MK by bus and then take a ferry boat (if one is in the dock) or otherwise monorail if a boat is not in the dock.

The Epcot idea could work too, but there's a longer wait between trains, and then a bit of a walk from the TTC to the restaurant (not too long though). You might find it faster to hop from the Epcot monorail onto the Resorts loop to the Poly.

Thanks so much Andre. I get lost wherever I go! No sense of direction at all. I even got us lost at the airport searching for the ME bus for quite a while. We really do love PORS but one night we went over to FQ and really liked it. I know the food court is smaller and doesn't have the same variety but it wasn't as crowded. Some mornings at RS just trying to get into the coolers for juice was like playing football with people pushing and shoving.

We can wait to be at POFQ in a year from now. We got a ton of snow already and have been without power for almost 24 hours and they said it can be up to a week. My DH made coffee in the French press but the ground were probably 2 years old since we own a Kuerig. Needless to say, we had a good laugh but ended up throwing it out. We went out for lunch, played a board game, read, had burgers on the grill and we are in bed reading at 6:30 because it is pitch black and chilly.

We have done Poly breakfast from POFQ and took the bus to MK and the monorail to the Poly. As Andre says, if there is a boat in the dock, go for it. The boat is quicker than the monorail which has to go round the whole loop first, but if you have to wait for a boat it is a bit of a gamble time wise. We always leave super early for the Poly or any resort meal in fact, and plan to spend some time walking around the grounds and getting pictures. Also if you are hungry, checking in as soon as you get there could get you seated early. We did that last year at Ohana - arrived a good 45 minutes early and just checked in. We were called right away and seated.

Hope your power comes back on soon! We had 13 inches here, but most of it melted. Many were without power here, but we got lucky. Lights flickered a few times, but stayed on.:thumbsup2 It is much too early for snow. Wish we were at Disney - though I always wish that - even mid-July!!!:rotfl: Stay warm!!

When I read your post to my DH, he wanted me to tell you that it is 75F here, sunny and dry, but DD doesn't want me to lie. :lmao: We had both beautiful sun and cold rain today and it's barely 50F. But guys, you beat us with the snow this year! :thumbsup2 It's been unusually warm here this year so I guess we were bound to lose the first snow fall. :sad2:
Anyway, hope you enjoy the "magic" of the first snow, :goodvibes even if it's not Disney. And this is why we enjoy so much the weather both in Florida and in California in our winter escapes to the sun!

I just saw the news. It was not just "snow", it was a huge deadly storm. Sorry if I ever offended you.

We've been home from POFQ for over a week now and I'm still feeling sad and missing it like crazy, especially since we got over a foot of snow yesterday. :sad1: I keep thinking about the afternoons floating in the pool in the warm sunshine. Walking around the resort soaking up the atmosphere. Waaaaaa! :sad1:

Certainly didn't offend me - I'm sure you get much worse storms in Ontario! The main reason many are still without power here in PA is that all the leaves were still on the trees, so when the heavy wet snow was added to it, the trees came down, wiping out power lines. But it may be a lot worse in New Hampshire.

I appreciate your husband's joking! Even when our power goes out we try to make an adventure out of it, and laughter makes it better. Thanks for trying to cheer us up!

We're looking forward to our first stay at POFQ! :cool1: Thanks for all the great information on this thread.

Here's my question: My DD has a countdown on her iPod, and one of the pictures on it is a gorgeous three-tiered fountain at POFQ. Now, I've told her I don't know which fountain this is, but I said I would put in a request for a room on a courtyard with a fountain view. Any suggestions as to what would be the prettiest area to request?

Our res. for Poly is 9:25AM- what time do you think we should leave FQ?

We are in the 20's here with still a lot of snow on the ground and trees. But, the electric is still on- we're lucky cause a lot of people around here are out.
13 days to heaven seems too darn far away!

Our entire family requires white noise to sleep. Is there a way to set a room fan unit to permanently stay "on" or shall I bring our white noise machine from home?

Thanks!

Ok wired question time

Shower heads…..

How are the at here. I have been to some place and they are not good, no pressure or anything. I like the ones that has different settings on the head.

Happy snowy Halloween from 13" of NY snow !

Looking foward to warm humid weather of Florida next June/July :goodvibes

I was not at all offended. We were more blindsided of how much fell and how quick. It looked beautiful but it was heavy and wet. Our power came on this afternoon and we consider ourselves fortunate. We lost most of the food in our refrigerator and all in our freezer. More of a headache and expense. Sorry for others who did not fare as well. The older we get, the less tolerant we get of snow. Makes going to WDW all that more special. I think your DH is funny.

You're in luck, the shower heads have been replaced recently due to the refurbishment of the rooms; and they adjustable settings. We found the pressure to be adequate, not great but ok. One morning though the water was merely tepid, I guess the entire resort was showering at the same time to get ready to go to the parks.

The rooms have thermostats, we kept the fan on for noise even though we had a cool night or two and didn't need the air conditioning. Didn't hear a sound from outside our room to disturb our sleep.

Is there any way to post the picture here? There are several fountains on the grounds. The one I am most familiar with is the one between Buildings 5 and 6 where the grassy area is but I'm not sure if it is three tiered.

We will be arriving next August, for our first DW vacation, and are staying at POFQ. :)
I was wondering, do all of the buildings have elevators to get to the 2nd and 3rd floors, or just stairs?
Do most people find the 3rd floor to be the quietest?
We've booked a "garden view" room. Where exactly would that put us?
What does everyone prefer, ground floor or higher up??

Thanks!!!!
