We'll be staying at POFQ starting Jan 2 - Jan 8th 2012. We are surprising the kids and my dad and not letting them know until New Years Eve that we are leaving the next day for Disney!
Our last trip was our first ever trip to Disney in June 2011 and we stayed at AKL so I'm still a little unsure how we are going to take to a Mod after having our first stay at a deluxe. The pictures are absolutely beautiful though and I'm so excited!

It is a great resort. We haven't done Deluxe at WDW but have stayed at Hyatts etc. & love POFQ. We like the look of the property, being able to walk over to POR & use their pool not to mention the boat to DTD:yay: Having those options without needing the bus or a car is why we keep coming back.

I have stayed ther twice & I really like it. I will be staying there in May 2012, for a week. It will be me & a friend. I can't wait to show her around

I just looked at my posts & this is my 1,000 post:banana::yay:

Actually it was last Sat the 29th. Flew home to a nasty snowstorm in Ct, and lost power for 5 days :headache:

Anyhow, FQ was wonderful as usual. My request for first floor was given, altho I was in building 7, a bit far from the food court, but fine for me.

I loved the beds :goodvibes Everything was so perfect, I have no complaints.

Welcome back sorry you had to fly home in that mess. Glad you enjoyed POFQ and the beds. Can't wait 15 more days and hopefully no more snow for a while.

I just had to post to actually see my ticker that I have been staring at since January!!! It is almost here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2 weeks from now I will be on the Magical Express bus and heading toward POFQ!!!! I am so excited I can't sleep (already) My ticker is off by a day because whe changed our flights after I made it, and I never got around to updating it. I want to decorate our windows, but can't find any Disney Thanksgiving window clings anywhere. Everyone had Halloween and Christmas, but Thanksgiving seems to have been overlooked.:confused3 Ok enough rambling...back to work, which is dragging cause I am so excited!

I do that sometimes.:rotfl::rotfl: I always have several trips in the planning stages and sometimes just want to remind myself how many more days I have to work before I get to go home to WDW.:rotfl: Each trip is getting closer. I'll be at CSR Nov/Dec, POFQ in early Feb and then back at POFQ in early May. I'll be making ADRs for my May trip this Monday, so will have three sets of ADRs to keep up with.:rotfl::rotfl:

I saw some the other day, but forget where I was at the time. I think maybe Wal Greens, CVS, or maybe the Dollar Store. I was doing alot of errands that day, but remember seeing them somewhere. They had pumpkins, haystacks, and little kids dressed as Pilgrims on them.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at POFQ. We loved it! We were in a great location and we had good luck with the buses. Couldn't ask for more :)

Did my online checkin. We'll be there in a week!
Just hoping that low pressure area southwest of Bermuda stays
untroublesome.

Hi all! I had to switch my Christmas trip from OKW to POFQ. I have so much reading to do but I hope I will enjoy the resort at Christmas. My dates are 12/23-12/30.

Welcome Back :goodvibes

Glad you enjoyed your stay we'll be there in 12 days

Does POFQ have preferred rooms? Rooms that are closer to the food court and main lobby?

No, they don't have preferred location rooms, because there is really no need for them. Even if you get in the farthest out rooms, it's still only about a 5 minute walk to the bus stop and food court. That's one of the reasons we like to stay there. Even if you would get none of your room requests granted, you're still in as good of a position as you would be with a preferred location at most of the other resorts.

Thanks!
I checked Wallgreens and the Dollar store, will try CVS! I think maybe I just midded the boat....everyone around here has all of the fall stuff on clearance. I did find some "Christmas" Tink ones that just have snow on them that could pass for Pixie Dust, so I picked those up to at least have something. Otherwise, we'll never find our room!:rotfl:

Not Disney themed - but for our 4th of July trip in 2012 - I bought for $1 on sale a 4th of July decorated mobile to hang by our window.
It is flat and hangs downward.

Now to find Disney themed clings - maybe make my own with Disney pcitures and cling plastic paper for my printer :goodvibes

Just back from a great stay at POFQ...our only complaint was the limited options at the food court compared to resorts we have stayed in before (ASMu and CSR)

We were placed in building 7 in one of the most far away rooms from the lobby and pool that were possible, which I was originally pretty upset about. However, it ended up not being a big deal at all...it only took us about 3 minutes to walk to the pool or lobby. Easy peasy.

It's sometimes hard to convey to new visitors just how compact and easily navigated French Quarter really is. To be honest, no room is more than a few minutes walk to the main areas.

This is not true of Riverside, which is much larger, but sometimes I find it a little amusing when I see people agonising over the perfect building to choose. Unless you have a specific medical or practical need, there aren't really any bad locations - even most of the dreaded 'parking lot' views really aren't bad, such as these in building 1:

Hello - joining you on the POFQ thread for the first time! I just booked a one-night stay at POFQ! We're a family of five, so we outgrew the moderates a while ago. We're all headed down to SW Florida beaches around Easter and I'm staying a little longer with our youngest. So "party of two" plus "peak season rack rates everywhere" = try a new moderate resort!

We chose POFQ because we've stayed at CSR several times and CBR once, and I really wanted to try something new. Also, it seems like the size of POFQ would be ideal when traveling with a 4-year-old and the refurbished rooms look quite nice. We'll probably arrive early enough to spend the day at Epcot, so I'd love to hear about positive bus experiences!

I'm trying to read as much of this thread as possible, so I apologize if this information appeared somewhere along the way, but I'm wondering about pool and slide hours at POFQ during peak season. Any experience swimming in the early morning or after a day at the parks?
