We just arrived today and got a refurbished room on the fourth floor if building 5, building 6.

Were the bathrooms refurbished? Ours is the same as before and the uplift is awful and barely flushes, lol. You have to hold it down and it sounds like it's sick, lol.

We wouldn't move though, only slight annoyance, and we got awesome room with our best lake view yet on the 4th floor. It's exactly what requested. O

So you are in the 60's section or 70's section?

One of those buildings is 70's and one is 60's?

Um... I don't think the OP meant the toilet itself. I thought they meant the strength of the flush! If you compare the Pop's toilets to the DVC.... no contest. My DD8 runs away when the DVC toilets (at least at SSR) flush because its so strong. She's afraid to get sucked down! We checked the model number (because we wanted these for home) and found the DVC toilets cost more than $800 each retail!! Love that Disney Quality!

There is a map of the preferred rooms, posted on another thread. I have a screen clipping of it on my laptop, but it won't copy over. I'll have to see if I can find the thread its posted on.

update: Ok I didn't find the exact one I was looking for, but I found this cool Pop fact thread that has a similar map. The link is located in Post 1 (which is LONG) under the subheading Classic Years Rooms 1950's-1990's. You'll find it here and its chock full of useful info:

I was reading this other Pop Faq thread.. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2207254

and I read it mention the A/C in some rooms is on a motion sensor so that when you leave the room, the A/C will turn off and you come back and its HOT in your room. Also, it would go off when you're sleeping since you're not moving about the room. Anyone experience this? Is this true? Sounds like conservation run amok. It would be awful to wake up in the middle of the night sweating because the A/C went off!! Panic.....

Hey Bill, DCDisney on the Groovier Pop thread (page 215) said that their family stayed in a first floor non-preferred room in the 50's building THIS year and had the A/C that was dependent on the motion sensor, and that it DID shut down while they were sleeping.. and he mentioned that the override procedure didn't work. Hopefully I will get my request for the 70's building anyway.

Yeah, there are still some of the motion sensor thermstats out there. Don't know why it didn't work for them. Good luck with your 70's request.

As far as I know, Pop is stil lon all motion sensors...maybe changing with rehab? We never had too much of a problem though. It did get slightly warmer, but still decent in the room. Last trip we did put a balloon in front of it and it helped somewhat.

As for the overide, the one listed (and several have been listed on these boards) never work. I have tried 3 different overides and haven't found one to work yet. Basically because the thermostat doesn;t even have the same buttons that all the threads say to hit to override.

We stayed in a rehabbed room in Building 6 in April of this year and the thermostat was definitely motion sensored and couldn't be overridden (at least it didn't have the mentioned buttons and I couldn't figure out how to do it).
Whenever I got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom I looked like a crazy woman, waving my arms all around to trigger the motion sensor.

anyone have an idea of when the rehabs will be done? we arrive sept. 12th. Just wondering if I should request a rehabbed room, I already have requested connecting or adjoining rms, top floor, facing lake, so i would have to eliminate one of those if I want to add in the rehabbed rooms right?
