Does anyone know what buildings have / have not been completed?

Staying @ Pop May 13-17 - and was curious if what buildings we should request/avoid.

As of right now all of building 6, 8 and 9 have been completed. Building 7 .. work has just begun.

Please note - do NOT assume the building number matches the decade. It does not. Check the Pop Century map located several places in this thread for sure.

I will say this - this has been going MUCH slower than I expected.

Am I the only one that isnt totally crazy happy with the refurb? I miss the bigger dresser unit with the shelves. It was great to put things up high from my toddler, and I liked having the shelves for all my toiletries and things!

I hope I am not being redundant, or have missed anything in the past posts (no promises though ), but I need a little advice...

I just booked our first trip to POP for September 11-19. We are going to have 2 rooms and have requested connecting rooms. I thought about requesting a certain building also, but I was uncertain which is the best, or if there is really a difference. Any suggestions?? Also, what is the chance of actually getting the connecting rooms that we have asked for? Do they typically honor requests, or is it hit-or-miss???

Request whatever decade will potentially get you excited .. have a look at the Pop Century pictures and the map..

Connecting rooms are tough to get and sometimes can't be had.. They'll tell you at check-in if you got your requests or not..

As with many things in life.. oh sure you can ask.. you may or may not get.

But this much I know - don't ask - and your odds of getting go WAY down.

Is it weird that I don't care so much about getting a refurbed room as much as I care about getting the location ( bld 3 or 4 lake view) we desire?! I'm sure they are nice but I just don't like the area the ones that are done are in!
Im sure I must be the only one right?!

I recently stayed at Pop a couple months ago. My room was refurbished...it was so nice...and had that new carpet smell. I was impressed. The best part was I didn't request it...when I opened the door...it was such a nice surprise to start off my vacation!

Not much change on this yet.. They are moving fairly slowly it seems.

Nope! I requested Building 5 because my DD(6) likes the look of the 60's buildings with the "flower power". I requested Lake view so that it would be more quiet and we would get to pass by the dyno-mite 70's building while walking to Classic Hall and the busses! To each his own!

No I'm the same way. I'd rather be close to my coffee pot. LOL than have a flat screen tv that I never watch. I'm okay as long as the room is clean. after all, all I do is sleep there. but good luck to others that want one. wish you luck.

No, you're not the only one. For this upcoming trip, we REQUESTED a preferred first floor room facing the Hippy Dippy Pool. My preference would be to open the door and fall into the pool! We want to be right in the middle of all the goings-on. If it happens to be refurbed by the time we get their in June, so be it. The location is more important for us than a refurb. I'm hoping everyone who is looking for a quiet refurb gets one and leaves our requested area to us. If I want peace, quiet and no crowds, I wouldn't be going to WDW. I want fun and craziness and that normally does not relate to QUIET!

Got back last night from a stay at Pop. We requested ground floor, facing lake, 50's or 60's, and got all 3 requests, in building 3. Not refurbished, but location was more important for us. I did not notice any work going on during a walk around the resort, but may have missed it.

This was posted a page or two back from like 3 days ago..

It IS going MUCH slower certainly than I anticipated.. by mid-May I thought for sure they'd be done.. that's appearing WAY wrong.

We've stayed at POP only once. I think we were in the 50's section..it was the last building to the right. And it had the sock hop dancers on it.

We are taking my sister and her family and my mom. I really want this to be special for them since this is their first Disney trip ever and I have talked it up to no end. What do you guys think is the best building? We paid for the preferred room (have no clue where that is..lol).. we like to be by the pools but we dont have to open the door and fall into it (lol at the other poster!) We would love a lake view. And we like the top floor cause I cant stand being woken up at 6 am to the people peeing above us!
