All of this has me certain that I will only ever get one stay out of POP. After this September if I don't stay at a moderate I'll be going to an AS resort
I guess I'm alone in being happy about these changes since it will be only my husband and I traveling for our first trip. There is no way we could both sleep in a full size bed together (we tried when we went to visit my parents last spring and failed). However, a queen sized bed will work wonderfully.
I am super sad about the hardwood/vinyl. I may have to bring my own rug!! I hate putting my feet on a cold floor in the morning. I'm sure it will be much easier to clean. I think industrial carpet squares would have been a better choice. If one get dirty or stained, you just pull it up and replace it. I am looking forward to the murphy bed. When we stayed at Fort Wilderness a few years ago we all thought the murphy bed was very comfortable.
Also, it is going to make for much noisier neighbours. Shoes clacking around on uncarpeted floors overhead and next door will not be fun.
I love this idea just me and the DH traveling so having only one bed and a queen is so much better for us.I guess I'm alone in being happy about these changes since it will be only my husband and I traveling for our first trip. WOW!How cool-I didn't even know they had Test Rooms for this project!I happened to be able to stay in one of the test rooms for this update last year.
Yes info on the coffee maker may be my main concern now - sad I know but the DH requires it to function and in Disney I'm more hyper and ready to go than normal so it's more neededYou're not alone! I happened to be able to stay in one of the test rooms for this update last year. We were a party of three and it worked out great for us. My only gripe was no carpeting. When we go back this November, we'll be a party of three again and I'll be requesting a renovated room.

Totally agree on the price change coming - thats when I may just stay offsite at Hilton and use/earn points for stays they have buses too just no longer include EMH but good planning can make due - especially if I am saving $$ and can always walk over to DS for nighttime funI have a feeling that this is their demographic for this resort, but have the option there for 4 in a room as well.
BUT ......
If they build this stupid gondola that is rumored, that will cost a stupid fortune to build and operate, to service very few overall guests and include a landing strip in the middle of Hourglass Lake ...
If they are going to eliminate the Hotel Tiers and they will simply all have rates based on their location and amenities ...
Hotel rates at Disney will become a free-for-all and ... those on the Sky Bucket will have to pony up more for it's costs.
I predict that POP Century and the LM rooms in AoA will climb much higher than the Allstars.
Just thinking out loud![]()

Was the Queen bed comfy? You're not alone! I happened to be able to stay in one of the test rooms for this update last year. We were a party of three and it worked out great for us. I'm surprised that they're changing out one of the beds for a Queen size. Considering the sq ft of the Value resort rooms and that both beds are usually full sized, I wonder if there's even room to expand even one bed in there. I guess that's the murphy's bed purpose? To give more space so a queen bed can fit in there?
