i read that there has been quite a lot of activity over at LY recently. Has anyone got any up to date pics from the last few weeks?

Housekeeping / storage rooms are in the center of the buildings where the elevators are.

I took a walk over to the end of the bridge last week. Definitely work going on over there. I saw several people on the roof and could hear work going on. =

I was at Pop Tuesday, Wednesday, and this morning. Didnt see anything going on across the bridge. You can hear (occasionally) construction noise, but it is coming from the Bonnet Creek construction site. I took a couple pics and compared them with ones I took 2 months ago and there doesnt appear to be any change.

Doesn't it make you feel like a PI and the DIS is your client. It is sooo interesting reading all the posts, kinda makes me want to go look. Maybe I will in just over a week, Dcousin is staying at Pop with her children.

LOL!! I know! I was just thinking, hmm, we'll be there right after new year's; maybe I'll just mosey on over to the bridge to have a look see. I haven't seen the bridge yet anyway, so there's my excuse!

Concerns apparently remain about having a decade for the Depression and the War Years. .. another was going from 2000 to 2050 on the Legendary Years side... .

based on the news of late, I think they'd have the same issues with 2000-2009!

Hi there!!!
I've seen a couple that have Columbus listed, but not many. We love to go to Columbus to shop; there's pretty much nothing here. We did finally get a Super Wal-Mart though.

we are going to Disney Jan 23, 2009 (22 days and counting!) and we are staying at the Pop Century. I will try to make a point in scoping out the view to "the dark side".

OT: Also, I used to live in Columbus, GA. I worked at the Hughston Sports Medicine Hospital. Is it still there? It was such a cute little town. But I have to laugh about the shopping...compared to Baltimore, there is NO shopping in Columbus!

I was there Dec 18-21 with a view of the lake and I didn't see anything going on.

It was kinda creepy walking back to our room from the parking lot at night. On one side it's all lit up and bright and on the other side its all dark and quiet.

Ha, Yes, Hughston is still here. I work at Doctors and they are now sister hospitals and Colmubus Regional (The Medical Center) owns both of them. It's not so cute and little any more. You didn't say how long since you live here, but we have had a boom in the shopping market in the last few years. Probably still NO shopping compared to Baltimore, but definitely up and coming, for those who do live here.

We didn't make it over to Pop when we were there in Dec and my cousin who styed there didn't go over to investigate either. At this point we don't go back until June, so I will check it out then.

we were at Pop Dec 5 - 13, and all we saw different were a bunch of white trailers in the parking lot - otherwise, the reflection of the empty buildings combined with the lovely colors of autum leaves of the trees against the blueness of the sky and lake was truly awe inspiring....
