I say if it is braided, whether it is one braid or more than one, it is a pigtail or pigtails. It can't be a pigtail unless it is braided. If you have hair on either side of your head in elastics and the hair is not braided, then you have ponytails.
I've always said non-braided tails are "pony tails," and braided tails are "pigtails." If the hair isn't braided, and it's in rubberbands (one or two) it looks like a pony's tail or tails. If it's braided, it looks all curly, like a pig's tail or tails. That's what's most logical to me. So, I say you are right, Disney Ella!
